@smgjohn actually there was a slaughter there as my wife is Chinese and her parents were in bejing when it happened, in china it's something alot of Chinese arn't proud of.
It saddens me that my own country has to be looked in this way, but no matter how i wish it i can't change history. I can't change the fact that my own countrymen slaughtered thousands of students in Tianamen square. I can't change the fact that American POWs were being treated badly after the war. I don't think the US is bad, I think the UN and NATO are just being run by a bunch of corrupted dicks! So why is the rest of the world blaming the top dog for it's own problems I just don't get it!
@MK7896 There never was a slaughter in Tianamen Square. This has been proved with hard proof evidence. Stop making lies, and grow up. US Government is pure evil, and American POW's treated badly? In what case? WWI? WW2? Vietnam war?
Surely American forces weren't treated bad by the Germans, American soldiers where treated bad by the Japanese but who weren't?
And in Vietnam they also where but why? Because America killed millions in both Vietnam and Japan.
@MK7896 The top dogs will always be criticized, Britain was once the top dog of the world, and as you may noticed they received plenty of criticism as an Empire.
The US and China are the world's leading superpowers of today, and it is no shock to me that they receive criticism.
When Rome started growing up as an Empire, a world superpower they too were criticized by all their neighbors. I guess when a nation grows to powerful jealousy will always erupt among other nations.
i don't blame them, amurikah sucks! filled with niggers, spics, fags, socialists, liberals greedy neo-cons, materialistic stuck up bitches..... homogeneous societies are so much more livable.
HAA!!! Even with all the communist lies & propaganda, only 20 American & British soldiers defected to china, only to return to the free West years later! The number of communist prisioners of war number in the millions who prefer the freedom of the West to their shithole in china.
@Prophet4YAHWEH Your a nice product of the American brainwashing system. I congratulate you for pressing your tiny brain to the limit for making this comment...
China was the only country in human history to invade a country peacefully with no casualties and to have established a prison camp which had it's own olympics. You should go live in your fucking shithole America while us smart people enjoy Socialist freedom in China
@SMGJohn So did cevil china invade Vietnam peacefully in 19079 berfore you got their little chinese dicks cut shorter by the great Vietnamese? Also, dickhead, if America is so evil, then GET THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY ALL YOU WORTHLESS cHIENSE SCUMS!!!
@Prophet4YAHWEH 19079? Hmm, is that the future? Or is that the past? I am confused because if that is either BC or AD then it have to be a LONG way back or a LONG way forward.
Your saying China is American? Fuck you. China doesn't belong to America! America can fuck off, dig their own graves and wait for Russian nuclear weapons to create peace in this world for once as they nuke you imbeciles to a huge pile of ash and then you will blow away with the wind!
Don't bring Russia into the fight, moron, for they hate you chinese scums, too. It's too bad we didn't invade & attack little chinese dicks during the Korean War. If I was Pres Truman, I would just let Gen Mc Arthur attack & nuke you little chinese dicks to pieces.
How dare you attack my country? Because of us, you can't take back Taiwan! Yes, Taiwan belongs to America! HAHAHAHAA!!! Little chinese dicks can't do JACK about it! AHHAHAHAHAA!!!
@Prophet4YAHWEH If America attacked China in 1950s, not only would the Soviet nuke America but the whole fucking Warsaw Pact would invade Europe and it would all end in a defeat for both sides. Maybe Warsaw would take Europe but the world would be irradiated and we would life in a Fallout world now. So you would have to drink Vodka and eat radroach meat while I would have drink Wine and eat Soviet bread...
And both of us would have to wait for years to the choosen one comes out from the vault..
@SMGJohn It wasn't a fake, but it was with the soviet union, not Russia. Russia is on our side now, so if the "perfect society" in china wants to do something, they wont really have anybody backing them up.
The reason for one child policy is for each child, the society have to feed and educate them for 18 years, which is a great expense on the social resources, look at india. Yes, the only reason for it is economy. But the problem is that western public do not really know one child policy. For example, it does not apply to the 55 ethnic minorities and it is also changing, China has allow those who lives in some of cities the eastern part of China, where the economy is more advanced to have more chi
@taitoufeiguo - one-child policy is in fact sanctioning and encouraging killing children (there is no difference between killing a newborn baby and abortion few weeks before birth). No economic benefit can justify killing. The fact that there are some exceptions of this policy does not change the principle. The very idea that a woman can be forced to have an abortion (at any time) is violation of human rights. The West might be mistaken about the scale, but not about the facts.
@OlenkaWagner Arguments about birth control and abortion exist in the West too. Don't try to say abortion equals killing children, when you are talking about this issue, I am surprised that you state false fact such as "abortion few weeks before birth", you simply can't have an abortion few weeks before birth OK? Haha, "the west might be mistaken about the scale, but not about the FACTS".
@taitoufeiguo - I am not talking about arguments about abortion in general - there are various approaches to this in the West, but on one thing everyone in the West (and prpbably other countries apart from China) agrees: a woman cannot be FORCED to have an abortion. I've read about the cases of abortion in China in 9th month. Maybe it was just the decision of an official who forced it against the law, but it did happen.
@OlenkaWagner I am not saying there no cases of forced abortion in China, some of the law enforcement people are just stupid, there are corruptions, are bad things in China. But you can't just apply that to the general policy of it. In fact, there are no law that says you have to do abortion, most of the time you will get a fine. Again, forced abortion is against law in China. Any doctor in their right mind will not perform abortions in that condition.
@taitoufeiguo - China has one of worst human right records when you look at the reports of organizations like Amnesty International, Asia Watch etc. Of course there are countries with worse records - North Korea for example. How can you explain this bad position in the statistics?
@OlenkaWagner Yes, human rights was pretty much ignored when come to things like social stability in China. I know personally someone who's sentenced to death for armed robbery, for less than $2 back in the 90's. But things are changing, China has come a long way, it it is getting better. If you can't see that, you can hold your 20 years old view of China and keep hating it. To me, the west is not doing worse and worse in human-rights issues now days.
@taitoufeiguo - you say things are getting better - I would say yes and no. They went better after the death of Mao, definitely. There was a short period when it looked that they will go better. But after the Tiananmen massacre the hope has gone. There was a small improvement during the Olympics in terms of the freedom of movement for journalists, but now it again got stricter.
@OlenkaWagner Tiananmen I blame the on the student leaders who fled the country when they saw things going bad. The Chairman Zhao Ziyang at that time went to Tiananmen and agreed on what the students' were asking, but when he left, some of the student leaders especially Chai Lin, asked for more. CCP leaders saw no end on this, and decide to go with force. Almost all the reformers in the party were cleaned out after this. Chai Lin alone put China's politic development behind for at least 20 year
@taitoufeiguo - I really cannot see any improvement over the last 20 years. There might be some occasional relaxations in one point or another, but then it goes back to restrictions. Unfortunately I have no reason to believe that the situation in China will improve if only time is given.
@OlenkaWagner Thank you for the interest in China, I don't know if you have been to China, but if you haven't, you should go and stay there for a while if you can. Words doesn't matter really, cheers.
@OlenkaWagner lol, wherever you want see the real China, go to the small cities, village, thousands of places. Tibet is a great place to visit sure. "Reeducation camps?" if you can find one, please let me know, I'd love to see what relic looks like.
@taitoufeiguo - So now in China are only prisons where people can get there by the court sentence and there is no possibility that someone is kept in jail without a trial?
@OlenkaWagner Police can hold someone for certain period of time(I'm not sure exactly how long), but there will be a trial even if the law enforcement officers are corrupted and the trial is just a show. Political prisoners will be sentenced in the name of treason or subverting the state, they will have lawyers but most of the time, the best they could get is reduced sentence.
@OlenkaWagner on paper that is true. You are actually required to be accused of a crime within 24 hours of arrest, and court procedings must begin within 14 days. However, there are cases where people are held way beyond those limits without being tried. When this happens then their family and friends will appeal and let public know, and public pressure will force either release or trial. Basically, Chinese law regarding trial is sound on paper, but there are many abuses in practice.
@OlenkaWagner continued: the situation isn't ridiculous tho... unless you are charged with overthrowing the government, you are going to get a fair trial and everything. Nothing in the likes of "if you steal an official's bicycle you will be sentenced to death" kinda crap. The main problem in China today (aside from oppression against dessidents), is chaos resulting for personal gains: indivisual officials abusing power, merchants cutting corners, etc.
@OlenkaWagner When an organization has its own position on certain issue, to me all information from them are inevitably biased, therefore can be reference only, not facts.
@taitoufeiguo - But there are many organizations of very different political orientiations assessing the status of human rights. Not even one says that the situation in China is satisfactory. Is that conspiracy aginst China? Conspiracy involving people from the right to left? Not very convincing. If the situation is so good why does China censor the internet? They must be afraid of something?
@OlenkaWagner Satisfactory? by whose standard? yours? westerners? There are not conspiracy, they are against China. The nation’s top intelligence officer commented that Russia and China pose the greatest mortal threat to the United States the other day. Chinese government is afraid of the internet because there are too many unknown result of not censoring it. People can be easily influenced, like Germans with Nazi, that was democracy put them in power.
@taitoufeiguo - "The nation’s top intelligence officer commented that Russia and China pose the greatest mortal threat to the United States the other day" - and he was right. Not only to the United States, but to the humanity. Of course I only mean the governments, not individual people. I believe human rights are universal. "Social stability"or economic growth cannot be excuse for the violation of human rights.
@OlenkaWagner Look, first people may have a different definition human rights. Violation of human rights will always exist, by individual or government. The world is not an Utopia, you can only work towards it but you will never get there. As you refused to see the improvements doesn't mean they are not there.
@taitoufeiguo - OK, according to your (subjective) opinion: how would you compare the situation of human rights let say in China, US, Canada and some countries of EU? What would be the position of human rights in China? Which countries do you think have worse human rights record?
@OlenkaWagner China is worse than US for now. In my opinion, China is trying to rule the country by law. People are treated as innocent before conviction where isn't always the case before. But US is degrading after 911, secret prisons, torture (which is not allowed in China anymore, even if there are some cases by law enforcement, if the public know about it, people responsible will be prosecuted) where in US, Manning who is not convicted is striping every night. Worst part, people know about -
@OlenkaWagner -it, but they can't seem to do anything about it. Patriot Act, hearings against Muslims, GPS placed by FBI without warrant, Guantanamo Bay. I don't know how much better US is comparing to China. It better sure. Canada is much better, I like Canada here.
@OlenkaWagner I personally hate censorship on the Internet, it shows a distrust of the government on its own people. But who can blame them? People go into a crazed state when they don't think by themselves and just believe in whatever they were told. Look at the Culture Revolution, look at the religions wars. To the Chinese government, social stability is the top priority cause it means less people will suffer.
nice documentary. i remember when i was little in china i was told that all americans are evil man, they are greedy and they want to control over the world under their rules.
now i find out both sides hava a lot misunderstandings. we have different cultures different values. so i really dislike US government impose their human right values on our chinese, but i do like americans who understand china and respect our choice
@finestfresh - So you like Americans who let you imprison or kill people who have different views than the Chinese Government, who let you destroy the culture of ethnic minorities, who let you force abortions on women who had already one child and you detest those Americans (and I suppose non-Americans as well) who say that such practices of the Chinese government are wrong... At least I've got things clear...
where you get this idea--chn govt is destroying culture of mioritiy ethnics, i see some minority ethnics are benefit more privileges than majority Han ethnic. One child policy was very controversial, china's economy, society, peoples living standard was shit back in 30 to 50 years ago after WW2, civil war, korean war and other conflicts, meantime there was no aids because of the sanction from America-lead UN, so the only way to can survive is one child policy
@finestfresh - No economic arguments can justify forced abortion. Of course one can imagine many actions that will for sure improve economy, but would be criminal at the same time (e.g. killing elderly people, killing disabled people - all things economically beneficial, but morally unacceptable). Many countries had economic problems and improved their economy without "one-child policy".
yes, i agree a lot other countries have better economic situations than china without forcing one child policy, the chn govt already noticed this problem so now the people are allowed to have more than one child now. also abortion is a big problems world wide, not only in china is how govt feed so large population.
@OlenkaWagner because the us used material goodness to lure them over. this isn't hard since usa has been more industrialised. and in some cases, tattooed the prisoners with anti-communist pictures/words, causing them unable to go back. (from wikipedia)
since the chinese treated them so well, they were able to capture the minds and good will of the more smarter prisoners who realized that war was a civil war.
@Rico8458 - If it was a civil war China should not intervene either. Why UN intervention should be condemned and Chinese intervention should not? The film gives a totally false image of the treatment of POWs by the Chinese. Only selected prisoners who showed some signs they will "cooperate" were treated well. The rest was not. 22 UN POWs decided not to come back. On the other side there were thousands. So the other side must have been much more convincing.
@OlenkaWagner because the us threatened our safety, or that we don't know usa true intentions were. And Korean war was an excuse to intervene in our civil war by putting 7th fleet in Taiwan Strait?
@theboyuan0jcfan - Many agressors make excuses - Chinese sfety was threatened? What about the safety of Southern Korea? Was it not threatened? Wasn't the whole world threatened by the expansion of communism? Communists spoke straight forward that they want a global revolution and the expansion of communism confirmed their intensions. You are from Singapore. Clearly from China you wouldn't get access to YT.
@OlenkaWagner International laws are not for nothing. they are agreed by everyone at the end of WWII. Korea War is a civil war and international law says civil war is an act of progressiveness against reactionaries, not for anyone to interfere. The US invaded Korea, that's against international law. i guess truman believes that might is right, hegemony is above international law. and Korean war an excuse to invade taiwan? the only way deal with such hooliganism is to RESIST!
@theboyuan0jcfan - "international law says civil war is an act of progressiveness against reactionaries" - can you quote a document saying this. Is there anything in the international law about "progressiveness against reactionaries"?
"A group of courageous men..." More like a group of naive whack jobs. And no mention of the hundreds of POWs shipped from North Korea to China AGAINST their will and never seen nor heard from again...
@TheGreenSmoke I know mate Im only joking. America has some of the hotest girls around. Maybe next time I crack a joke I should put a "lol" or something? sorry if i offended you or any of my American cuz's.......
@Kamikazi5000 Putting on ton of make up or wearing nice clothes does not make a girl stunning. It's an illusion from spending that much more. You erase the makeup and the clothes there you have mostly fat ugly American girls. Of course there are bound to be few pretty ones out of 150+ million girls.
@Kamikazi5000 You might want to get your eyes checked. Lot of these so called American girls are far from stunning. What's worse is they act like foul and act more masculine once they've grown up.
Mao Zedong made China suffer. He rather let 20 million of his own people die just to afford the nuclear bomb! Eat that marvelous211...which regime is the most fascist? Fascist regimes treats their own people with violence and terror. Does that sound more like China or America?
he also masterminded the cultural revolution which killed hundreds of thousands of people through witch hunts and destroyed thousands of years worth of cultural relics.
@OlenkaWagner Also neglected is the fact that popes are the biggest mass murders of all times. They've killed billions of people, give and take a few hundred million. I personally think Christianity is evil and has produced more Hitlers than all the nations combined. Again credit goes to Polish for producing Popes.
@AggieU - A few questions for you: 1) why have you chosen this particular series of videos to air your views on the Catholic Church, although the video has nothing to do with this? 2) Why is your channel inavailable? Don't you have courage even to present any false identity? 3) Why have you chosen me as your interlocutor?
@AggieU - just to let you know, I have just blocked you for a rude comment you wrote on my channel. I will not talk to a person who does not answer any questions and has his/her channel unavailable.
@iowa61 American presidents are the biggest mass murderers in the world but they are glorified as people who spread democracy "according" to your history books.
@marvelous211 First of all we have spread democracy, every major country has mass murdered, lets look at it here, Germany, united kingdom, america, japan, south korea, north korea, china, russia, austria, and so much more. Fyi, theres fat people everywhere in the world including your country.
@m1grand70 Spread democracy? Are you ill? Democracy is nothing more than a word used by US to fulfill imperialistic agenda. US kill millions of civilians and to control sovereign nations to spread democracy. Democracy is nothing more than slavery to the US.
@marvelous211 M1grand70's claims are reasonable. Surely you cannot trust the future of North Korea, because at the end of the day, they end up protecting you.
@SlimeTron5000 Sure you have watched your hollywood movies. 300, braveheart... just to name a few. yet you don't seem to get US is the one doing the instigating on foreign soil seeding puppet governments that imitate the US.
I think Mel Gibson said it all when he died at the end of Brave Heart. Freedom!!!
@marvelous211 I can surmise you despise America, yet you know nothing about Blowback, and it appears you have sweepingly generalised Americans here by applying the English possessive case. The Establishment is greater than you assume. See Zeitgeist 1 and 2.
@SlimeTron5000 You rather blame your policies than yourself. How convenient. No it isn't greater than I assume because it's US doing. US can undo if it wants but it chooses not to.
@marvelous211 - At first North Korea invaded the South and established inhuman system. The United Nations decided to intevene to helped the South, however a FOREIGN POWER - China - helped North Korea and even now is contributing to the preservation of the regime.
@marvelous211 - Your profile says you are from Southern Korea. And if UN hadn't intervene your whole country would be like North Korea. And from your words it looks like you regret that didn't happen. In that case why wouldn't you go to the North then. Just because you wouldn't be able to use YT?
@OlenkaWagner I'm Korean I know more about Korea than you will ever know just like you know more about Poland and her history more than I. Unless you've done extensive study on my country I'll respond like how I respond to 3rd grade educated American rejects with silly rhetoric how Korea will be like NK if US and allies didn't free Korea.
@OlenkaWagner Since you like to ask little boy questions I would like to ask you a question or 2.
What do you value most? Do you value your sovereignty to do whatever you want or money? Would you sell your country for money? Would you kill off your culture for money? Would you kill your countrymen for money?
@marvelous211 - The question is not just sovereignty-money. There is also freedom. Freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom to form political parties. If sovereignty contradicts freedom, I would value freedom even more than sovereignty. If the culture is against thebasic freedoms of individuals I would rather not defend such culture. Of course, certain level of money is necessary. If biological survival is threatened than the money is more important than sovereignty.
@marvelous211 - if I criticize repressions and the answer is that I do not understand your culture there are two possibilities 1) it is not true that repressions are necessary for this culture 2) this culture is wrong and should be modified. I wouldn't say there is anything racist in this, because people subduedto repressions are the same race. A racist statement would be if i believed that something that happens in NK is unacceptable for Europeans, but acceptable for Koreans.
@OlenkaWagner If killing millions of helpless people aren't enough every couple of decades. Waaaa. more finger pointing about repression.. What about your repression? Supposedly it doesn't exist to people like you. You are obviously a joke with mental capacity of a Nazi and your filthy KKK ancestors.
You kill the repressed. That's your answer. Fucking joke US and these filthy cowards pushing their buttons from a far. Try picking on a country your own size and military might for once you pussy.
@marvelous211 your a fool, why dont you just fucking defect to the north you prick? a country that cant even feed itself and has electricity for like an hour a day, class country, should be on the top of everyones to visit list.....
@marvelous211 - I don't want to kill anybody, but if my countrymen wanted to introduce a system which brings repressions and economic innefficiency I would have no problems in supporting those who would like to prevent it from happening.
@OlenkaWagner Now back to your original question the answer is much deeper than what you impose. If Korea didn't split it "couldn't" be like the North Korea because America would be out of the picture. NK is what is today because of US sanctions and the Korean war which was result of US imperialism. So please keep your 3rd rate education that US fight for free countries. US impose sanctions and kill the natives for profit. US is no different than the dinosaurs that went instinct.
@marvelous211 - Dinosaurs went extinct, but they existed longer than humankind has been existing so far. Of course, US has its own interests and wants profits. But if I had alternative US influence vs local dictator I would chose US influence. Sanctions might explain bad economic situation, but they cannot explain repressions. And you haven't answered the question whether you consider China a foreign power, like US.
@OlenkaWagner So it's out of the closet folks. He wants to be like the dinosaurs. I'm so glad there's actually countries US can't rashly attack without consequences. It's a peace of mind.
Please stop with your psycho babble talk about repressions. You are the repression!
@marvelous211 - I will not stop talking about the repressions, because they are the key issue there. You got uneasy, because you cannot explain expressions with economic sanctions (as you try to explain bad economic situation in NK).
@OlenkaWagner You are the key issue. Small minded Americans lying and covering up for their crimes and point your fingers else where. It's not even funny anymore. No one with a mental capacity of over 16 years old believe your lies other than yourself.
@marvelous211 - just small correction - I am not American. I am Polish. I experienced communism, which was not as harsh as in NK, nevertheless there were repressions and economic innefficiency (no matter without or with sanctions). Fortunately Poland is free now, but I do not want communism in any other country in the world.
@marvelous211 - I don't know what your definition of communism is, but I am afraid that the system of NK would have been established in the whole Korea hadn't the UN intervened. And this system is destructive and sanctions have nothing to do with that.
@OlenkaWagner US stole SK from China's protection after WW2.. UN is the US.. US has turned SK into tourist spot for American GIs and ESL teachers.
US sanctions are starving North Koreans. if you think it's something else..why don't you tell me why is NK starving? Let me guess it's all NK's fault for starving. Typical answer for a lame yank.
@marvelous211 - sanctions might be only partial explanation. The rest is the inefficiency of the system. Central-planned economy, which does not work. The country is virtually closed to visitors from outside (this is the decision of NK government). Few visitors that are allowed cannot move freely over the country. There are not political freedoms. These things cannot be explained by sanctions.
@OlenkaWagner Oh right political system is failure. I suppose China's communism must be failing too. (rolleyes)
NK is where they are because of US war criminals invading Korea and sanction all these countries that defy American imperialism.. US invades and kill people for resources and money. Thing about NK is that they don't murder people for profit so yeah they don't have much to eat nor have resources but they have 1 thing you don't have. FREEDOM!
@marvelous211 - I China in economical term the system is capitalist, the communism is in terms of ideology, repressions etc. I hope it will colapse some day, despite economic success. The economic system in NK is central-planned. When you say they have freedom it must be a joke. People get imprisoned for the slightest criticism of "the beloved leader".
@OlenkaWagner There are laws in any country. If you don't follow them you get enforced. Just because some wise guy from Poland disagree with the Kim's rules don't matter. Kim is the owner of NK. So yes he's the great leader over there for creating North Korea after Korean War.
China is communist. Far from capitalist. Look it up.
@marvelous211 - like the laws not allowing free speech? Or free movement around the country? Or talking to foreigners? There are no such laws in any civilized country.
@marvelous211 - You also used an expression "Kim is the owner of NK" - no head of any civilized country can be on owner of it, regardles the system (president elected directly or indirectly or a monarch in constitutional monarchy) - no one is an owner. But, you are right, Kim is an owner, which is a pathology itself.
@marvelous211 They are more Capitalist than they are communist. China was hit very hard over the years and only in recent years have they managed to pick themselves up, that's why they have to be strict with certain policies to ensure that the country heads to the right direction. It's only a matter of time for them to become a democratic nation. This cannot be rushed. So far it has worked for them very well and they grew and modernised very quickly.
@marvelous211 They are but their policy always change if you been to China or have any clue you wouldn have know, rather than blindly following the western media. Besides communist or not, it has nothing to do with anyone else. What matters is people's standard of living is rapidly improving, the country is rapidly improving which is clearly a good thing.
@pakjai - I wouldn't be so optimistic. Politicians have been talking about democratisation since Mao Zedong died. It is true that after his death there was an openining to the world and some more freedom (like allowing western music, way of dressing, etc.), but there hasn't been any progress in this field in recent years. People are still kept in prison for being critical about the Communist Party, women pregnant with a second child are still forced to have abortion, even in 8th month.
@OlenkaWagner Things will always change. This is the communism in a Chinese way. Each and every goverment will be bringing in something new. You simply cannot compare the rate of growth or the change under given circumstances 30+ years ago to the changes that will inevitably happen with the way things are going for China. China is increasing their middle class population as we speak. They have the largest population in the world, it will be insane when majority falls into that category.
@OlenkaWagner Least they want is for the west to ruin it all for them by raising uneccesary problems. Countries in the west are having so many issues that they are having trouble trying to solve. They should first take care of their own problems before they try and lecture China who is getting rid of its problems and they are doing it fast because of the one party system.
@pakjai - when human rights are violated, it can never be an internal affair of one country. It is only an illusion that a one party system is more efficient in solving problems. That would be the case if the leadership of a party were only interested in the interest of the country (how could you define it is another thing). But they are usually interested in their own interest and the party's interest.
@pakjai - In democratic societies leaders might not be morally better, but they are interested in being re-elected. If they do not care about the country they do not get reelected.
Yeah, but I read that by about 2025 the new Chinese leadership coming in will probably disolve the one party system and have multiple parties because they wouldn't be as idealistically Marxist as those before. Although, they'd still probably be as authoritarian as before. The Chinese don't really think Democracy can work there because they got warlords, Chang Kai Shek and anarchy analogous to Afghanistan or Somalia.
@m1grand70 but none of the countrys that murdeured people can compare to the usa because usa killed displaced more people and gencocided and enslaved more people than the rest of the world combained

SMGJohn 6 months ago
@SMGJohn So did cevil china invade Vietnam peacefully in 19079 berfore you got their little chinese dicks cut shorter by the great Vietnamese? Also, dickhead, if America is so evil, then GET THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY ALL YOU WORTHLESS cHIENSE SCUMS!!!
Prophet4YAHWEH 6 months ago
@Prophet4YAHWEH 19079? Hmm, is that the future? Or is that the past? I am confused because if that is either BC or AD then it have to be a LONG way back or a LONG way forward.
Your saying China is American? Fuck you. China doesn't belong to America! America can fuck off, dig their own graves and wait for Russian nuclear weapons to create peace in this world for once as they nuke you imbeciles to a huge pile of ash and then you will blow away with the wind!
SMGJohn 6 months ago
@SMGJohn Oppss, I meant 1979.
Attack America!
Prophet4YAHWEH 6 months ago
@Prophet4YAHWEH If America attacked China in 1950s, not only would the Soviet nuke America but the whole fucking Warsaw Pact would invade Europe and it would all end in a defeat for both sides. Maybe Warsaw would take Europe but the world would be irradiated and we would life in a Fallout world now. So you would have to drink Vodka and eat radroach meat while I would have drink Wine and eat Soviet bread...
And both of us would have to wait for years to the choosen one comes out from the vault..
SMGJohn 6 months ago
@SMGJohn The 1950s are over, my dear. Now, Russia is against you chinese.
Also, if china is so good, can we send all of you chinese back to your giant shithole called china by the millions?

@Prophet4YAHWEH Yes? So the Shanghai pact is just a fake? Or maybe your braindead? I think I'll stick to the last option instead...

The reason for one child policy is for each child, the society have to feed and educate them for 18 years, which is a great expense on the social resources, look at india. Yes, the only reason for it is economy. But the problem is that western public do not really know one child policy. For example, it does not apply to the 55 ethnic minorities and it is also changing, China has allow those who lives in some of cities the eastern part of China, where the economy is more advanced to have more chi
taitoufeiguo 1 year ago
@taitoufeiguo - one-child policy is in fact sanctioning and encouraging killing children (there is no difference between killing a newborn baby and abortion few weeks before birth). No economic benefit can justify killing. The fact that there are some exceptions of this policy does not change the principle. The very idea that a woman can be forced to have an abortion (at any time) is violation of human rights. The West might be mistaken about the scale, but not about the facts.
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Arguments about birth control and abortion exist in the West too. Don't try to say abortion equals killing children, when you are talking about this issue, I am surprised that you state false fact such as "abortion few weeks before birth", you simply can't have an abortion few weeks before birth OK? Haha, "the west might be mistaken about the scale, but not about the FACTS".
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - I am not talking about arguments about abortion in general - there are various approaches to this in the West, but on one thing everyone in the West (and prpbably other countries apart from China) agrees: a woman cannot be FORCED to have an abortion. I've read about the cases of abortion in China in 9th month. Maybe it was just the decision of an official who forced it against the law, but it did happen.
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - What about the case of Liu Dan, who died of a forced abortion nine months pregnant?
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner I am not saying there no cases of forced abortion in China, some of the law enforcement people are just stupid, there are corruptions, are bad things in China. But you can't just apply that to the general policy of it. In fact, there are no law that says you have to do abortion, most of the time you will get a fine. Again, forced abortion is against law in China. Any doctor in their right mind will not perform abortions in that condition.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - China has one of worst human right records when you look at the reports of organizations like Amnesty International, Asia Watch etc. Of course there are countries with worse records - North Korea for example. How can you explain this bad position in the statistics?
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Yes, human rights was pretty much ignored when come to things like social stability in China. I know personally someone who's sentenced to death for armed robbery, for less than $2 back in the 90's. But things are changing, China has come a long way, it it is getting better. If you can't see that, you can hold your 20 years old view of China and keep hating it. To me, the west is not doing worse and worse in human-rights issues now days.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - you say things are getting better - I would say yes and no. They went better after the death of Mao, definitely. There was a short period when it looked that they will go better. But after the Tiananmen massacre the hope has gone. There was a small improvement during the Olympics in terms of the freedom of movement for journalists, but now it again got stricter.
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Tiananmen I blame the on the student leaders who fled the country when they saw things going bad. The Chairman Zhao Ziyang at that time went to Tiananmen and agreed on what the students' were asking, but when he left, some of the student leaders especially Chai Lin, asked for more. CCP leaders saw no end on this, and decide to go with force. Almost all the reformers in the party were cleaned out after this. Chai Lin alone put China's politic development behind for at least 20 year
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - I really cannot see any improvement over the last 20 years. There might be some occasional relaxations in one point or another, but then it goes back to restrictions. Unfortunately I have no reason to believe that the situation in China will improve if only time is given.
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Thank you for the interest in China, I don't know if you have been to China, but if you haven't, you should go and stay there for a while if you can. Words doesn't matter really, cheers.

@OlenkaWagner lol, wherever you want see the real China, go to the small cities, village, thousands of places. Tibet is a great place to visit sure. "Reeducation camps?" if you can find one, please let me know, I'd love to see what relic looks like.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - So there are no "reeducation camps"? When were they abolished?
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner 20 to 30 years ago, after the culture revolution.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - So now in China are only prisons where people can get there by the court sentence and there is no possibility that someone is kept in jail without a trial?
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Police can hold someone for certain period of time(I'm not sure exactly how long), but there will be a trial even if the law enforcement officers are corrupted and the trial is just a show. Political prisoners will be sentenced in the name of treason or subverting the state, they will have lawyers but most of the time, the best they could get is reduced sentence.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner on paper that is true. You are actually required to be accused of a crime within 24 hours of arrest, and court procedings must begin within 14 days. However, there are cases where people are held way beyond those limits without being tried. When this happens then their family and friends will appeal and let public know, and public pressure will force either release or trial. Basically, Chinese law regarding trial is sound on paper, but there are many abuses in practice.
OscarLiu24 8 months ago
@OlenkaWagner continued: the situation isn't ridiculous tho... unless you are charged with overthrowing the government, you are going to get a fair trial and everything. Nothing in the likes of "if you steal an official's bicycle you will be sentenced to death" kinda crap. The main problem in China today (aside from oppression against dessidents), is chaos resulting for personal gains: indivisual officials abusing power, merchants cutting corners, etc.
OscarLiu24 8 months ago
@OlenkaWagner When an organization has its own position on certain issue, to me all information from them are inevitably biased, therefore can be reference only, not facts.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - But there are many organizations of very different political orientiations assessing the status of human rights. Not even one says that the situation in China is satisfactory. Is that conspiracy aginst China? Conspiracy involving people from the right to left? Not very convincing. If the situation is so good why does China censor the internet? They must be afraid of something?
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Satisfactory? by whose standard? yours? westerners? There are not conspiracy, they are against China. The nation’s top intelligence officer commented that Russia and China pose the greatest mortal threat to the United States the other day. Chinese government is afraid of the internet because there are too many unknown result of not censoring it. People can be easily influenced, like Germans with Nazi, that was democracy put them in power.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - "The nation’s top intelligence officer commented that Russia and China pose the greatest mortal threat to the United States the other day" - and he was right. Not only to the United States, but to the humanity. Of course I only mean the governments, not individual people. I believe human rights are universal. "Social stability"or economic growth cannot be excuse for the violation of human rights.
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner Look, first people may have a different definition human rights. Violation of human rights will always exist, by individual or government. The world is not an Utopia, you can only work towards it but you will never get there. As you refused to see the improvements doesn't mean they are not there.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@taitoufeiguo - OK, according to your (subjective) opinion: how would you compare the situation of human rights let say in China, US, Canada and some countries of EU? What would be the position of human rights in China? Which countries do you think have worse human rights record?
OlenkaWagner 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner China is worse than US for now. In my opinion, China is trying to rule the country by law. People are treated as innocent before conviction where isn't always the case before. But US is degrading after 911, secret prisons, torture (which is not allowed in China anymore, even if there are some cases by law enforcement, if the public know about it, people responsible will be prosecuted) where in US, Manning who is not convicted is striping every night. Worst part, people know about -
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner -it, but they can't seem to do anything about it. Patriot Act, hearings against Muslims, GPS placed by FBI without warrant, Guantanamo Bay. I don't know how much better US is comparing to China. It better sure. Canada is much better, I like Canada here.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
@OlenkaWagner I personally hate censorship on the Internet, it shows a distrust of the government on its own people. But who can blame them? People go into a crazed state when they don't think by themselves and just believe in whatever they were told. Look at the Culture Revolution, look at the religions wars. To the Chinese government, social stability is the top priority cause it means less people will suffer.
taitoufeiguo 11 months ago
nice documentary. i remember when i was little in china i was told that all americans are evil man, they are greedy and they want to control over the world under their rules.
now i find out both sides hava a lot misunderstandings. we have different cultures different values. so i really dislike US government impose their human right values on our chinese, but i do like americans who understand china and respect our choice
finestfresh 1 year ago
@finestfresh - So you like Americans who let you imprison or kill people who have different views than the Chinese Government, who let you destroy the culture of ethnic minorities, who let you force abortions on women who had already one child and you detest those Americans (and I suppose non-Americans as well) who say that such practices of the Chinese government are wrong... At least I've got things clear...
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner
where you get this idea--chn govt is destroying culture of mioritiy ethnics, i see some minority ethnics are benefit more privileges than majority Han ethnic. One child policy was very controversial, china's economy, society, peoples living standard was shit back in 30 to 50 years ago after WW2, civil war, korean war and other conflicts, meantime there was no aids because of the sanction from America-lead UN, so the only way to can survive is one child policy
finestfresh 1 year ago
@finestfresh - No economic arguments can justify forced abortion. Of course one can imagine many actions that will for sure improve economy, but would be criminal at the same time (e.g. killing elderly people, killing disabled people - all things economically beneficial, but morally unacceptable). Many countries had economic problems and improved their economy without "one-child policy".
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner
yes, i agree a lot other countries have better economic situations than china without forcing one child policy, the chn govt already noticed this problem so now the people are allowed to have more than one child now. also abortion is a big problems world wide, not only in china is how govt feed so large population.

Rico8458 1 year ago
@Rico8458 - If it was a civil war China should not intervene either. Why UN intervention should be condemned and Chinese intervention should not? The film gives a totally false image of the treatment of POWs by the Chinese. Only selected prisoners who showed some signs they will "cooperate" were treated well. The rest was not. 22 UN POWs decided not to come back. On the other side there were thousands. So the other side must have been much more convincing.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner because the us threatened our safety, or that we don't know usa true intentions were. And Korean war was an excuse to intervene in our civil war by putting 7th fleet in Taiwan Strait?
theboyuan0jcfan 1 year ago

What do you value most? Do you value your sovereignty to do whatever you want or money? Would you sell your country for money? Would you kill off your culture for money? Would you kill your countrymen for money?
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - The question is not just sovereignty-money. There is also freedom. Freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom to form political parties. If sovereignty contradicts freedom, I would value freedom even more than sovereignty. If the culture is against thebasic freedoms of individuals I would rather not defend such culture. Of course, certain level of money is necessary. If biological survival is threatened than the money is more important than sovereignty.

@OlenkaWagner What your expansion? lol Fuck off already.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner I'm sure you'll do lots of damage I'm sure.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner Now back to your original question the answer is much deeper than what you impose. If Korea didn't split it "couldn't" be like the North Korea because America would be out of the picture. NK is what is today because of US sanctions and the Korean war which was result of US imperialism. So please keep your 3rd rate education that US fight for free countries. US impose sanctions and kill the natives for profit. US is no different than the dinosaurs that went instinct.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - Dinosaurs went extinct, but they existed longer than humankind has been existing so far. Of course, US has its own interests and wants profits. But if I had alternative US influence vs local dictator I would chose US influence. Sanctions might explain bad economic situation, but they cannot explain repressions. And you haven't answered the question whether you consider China a foreign power, like US.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner So it's out of the closet folks. He wants to be like the dinosaurs. I'm so glad there's actually countries US can't rashly attack without consequences. It's a peace of mind.
Please stop with your psycho babble talk about repressions. You are the repression!
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - I will not stop talking about the repressions, because they are the key issue there. You got uneasy, because you cannot explain expressions with economic sanctions (as you try to explain bad economic situation in NK).
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner You are the key issue. Small minded Americans lying and covering up for their crimes and point your fingers else where. It's not even funny anymore. No one with a mental capacity of over 16 years old believe your lies other than yourself.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - just small correction - I am not American. I am Polish. I experienced communism, which was not as harsh as in NK, nevertheless there were repressions and economic innefficiency (no matter without or with sanctions). Fortunately Poland is free now, but I do not want communism in any other country in the world.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner You have no idea about NK. NK is far from communism.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - I don't know what your definition of communism is, but I am afraid that the system of NK would have been established in the whole Korea hadn't the UN intervened. And this system is destructive and sanctions have nothing to do with that.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner US stole SK from China's protection after WW2.. UN is the US.. US has turned SK into tourist spot for American GIs and ESL teachers.
US sanctions are starving North Koreans. if you think it's something else..why don't you tell me why is NK starving? Let me guess it's all NK's fault for starving. Typical answer for a lame yank.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - sanctions might be only partial explanation. The rest is the inefficiency of the system. Central-planned economy, which does not work. The country is virtually closed to visitors from outside (this is the decision of NK government). Few visitors that are allowed cannot move freely over the country. There are not political freedoms. These things cannot be explained by sanctions.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner Oh right political system is failure. I suppose China's communism must be failing too. (rolleyes)
NK is where they are because of US war criminals invading Korea and sanction all these countries that defy American imperialism.. US invades and kill people for resources and money. Thing about NK is that they don't murder people for profit so yeah they don't have much to eat nor have resources but they have 1 thing you don't have. FREEDOM!
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - I China in economical term the system is capitalist, the communism is in terms of ideology, repressions etc. I hope it will colapse some day, despite economic success. The economic system in NK is central-planned. When you say they have freedom it must be a joke. People get imprisoned for the slightest criticism of "the beloved leader".
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner There are laws in any country. If you don't follow them you get enforced. Just because some wise guy from Poland disagree with the Kim's rules don't matter. Kim is the owner of NK. So yes he's the great leader over there for creating North Korea after Korean War.
China is communist. Far from capitalist. Look it up.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - like the laws not allowing free speech? Or free movement around the country? Or talking to foreigners? There are no such laws in any civilized country.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@marvelous211 - You also used an expression "Kim is the owner of NK" - no head of any civilized country can be on owner of it, regardles the system (president elected directly or indirectly or a monarch in constitutional monarchy) - no one is an owner. But, you are right, Kim is an owner, which is a pathology itself.

@OlenkaWagner You don't know what you are talking about. America is the terrorist.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 They are more Capitalist than they are communist. China was hit very hard over the years and only in recent years have they managed to pick themselves up, that's why they have to be strict with certain policies to ensure that the country heads to the right direction. It's only a matter of time for them to become a democratic nation. This cannot be rushed. So far it has worked for them very well and they grew and modernised very quickly.
pakjai 1 year ago
@pakjai Are you ill? China is communist. Look it up. Read a book.
marvelous211 1 year ago
@marvelous211 They are but their policy always change if you been to China or have any clue you wouldn have know, rather than blindly following the western media. Besides communist or not, it has nothing to do with anyone else. What matters is people's standard of living is rapidly improving, the country is rapidly improving which is clearly a good thing.
pakjai 1 year ago
@pakjai - I wouldn't be so optimistic. Politicians have been talking about democratisation since Mao Zedong died. It is true that after his death there was an openining to the world and some more freedom (like allowing western music, way of dressing, etc.), but there hasn't been any progress in this field in recent years. People are still kept in prison for being critical about the Communist Party, women pregnant with a second child are still forced to have abortion, even in 8th month.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner Things will always change. This is the communism in a Chinese way. Each and every goverment will be bringing in something new. You simply cannot compare the rate of growth or the change under given circumstances 30+ years ago to the changes that will inevitably happen with the way things are going for China. China is increasing their middle class population as we speak. They have the largest population in the world, it will be insane when majority falls into that category.
pakjai 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner Least they want is for the west to ruin it all for them by raising uneccesary problems. Countries in the west are having so many issues that they are having trouble trying to solve. They should first take care of their own problems before they try and lecture China who is getting rid of its problems and they are doing it fast because of the one party system.
pakjai 1 year ago
@pakjai - when human rights are violated, it can never be an internal affair of one country. It is only an illusion that a one party system is more efficient in solving problems. That would be the case if the leadership of a party were only interested in the interest of the country (how could you define it is another thing). But they are usually interested in their own interest and the party's interest.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@pakjai - In democratic societies leaders might not be morally better, but they are interested in being re-elected. If they do not care about the country they do not get reelected.
OlenkaWagner 1 year ago
@OlenkaWagner
