it's very nice from you to bring this "finds" to a specialist, but, really, you should stop this? Don't you know that you are destroying a lot of information that archaeologists use to take conclusions and study? Many times the context in where the object is found is more important than the object itself, although this is what we see in the museums. They probably won't be able to get any information from your "finds". You should let archaeologists do their work and stop destroying your heritage.
@antonioboltmartorell That would depend some on the depth of the axes, surely. If the axes were being pulled out of place through modern farming, the context was already lost and the axes would have been in grave danger of being destroyed. The site is certainly vitally important, when there still is a site, but we must be careful not to dissuade metal detectorists from being the last line of defense of the very heritage we want preserved.
VERY VERY NICE,you are a really nice guy to turn them over so we can see them in the Museum and enjoy them for ever and for that I pray that you are blessed with GREAT FINDS for the rest of your life
i found one myself the other week wich i think has just bean rolling around in the top soil for a wile as it was no more that 9" down. hopefully their's some more some wear in the field waiting to be found, but are probably just a bit to deep down for my detector to pick up........
i would never give this over to goverment =D fuk emm finder keeper ;)
