  • How often are the fed it?

  • @coolcon96 Spinach? Whenever I have some. I feed them a variety of vegetables, but Spinach is one of their absolute favorites, together with cucumber and zucchini. I'd say they get veggies twice a week normally. Usually before a water change-day, because they're quite messy. That way I'll get all the leftover fuzzy leftovers out with the water change :)

  • @number20121 kl thanks i now know you can feed them cucumber.

  • @coolcon96 you are welcome! You can feed them almost all vegetables. Peas are very good for them, boiled and shelled. Broccoli can make them gassy and floaty. Mine don't like carrots.

  • @number20121 I know they can eat almost most but every time you reply I learn something new thanks:)

  • but do you feed them flakes or pellets, which one would you recommend.

  • @Mex1292 pellets are more nutritious. Sinking pellets are the best. Floating pellets cause the fish to swallow air with the food which can cause floatyness and so swim bladder disorders. One of the best brands (although a bit more expensive) is Hikari. You probably have to order it online. I use Saki Hikari Color Enhancing (purple bag) and you can see how bright their colors are. :) Omega One is a good brand too, and you usually even find it at Petsmart!

Thanks for the info I'm going to check those pellets out.

  • @Mex1292 You're very welcome! :)

  • are you supposed to boil it

  • @Mex1292 you don't have to, but it makes it easier to eat and digest. I don't even boil mine. I feed them only a few leaves at a time. I spread them out on a plate after rinsing them off, still wet! Then I microwave them for about half a minute or however long it takes to make the spinach dark and soft. That's all! :)
