  • great job man

  • whats the name of the song at 5:25 - 5:34?

  • the beauty about a laptop is the tons of genre at your finger btips,, great!!

  • You need the new Soulja Boy remix , its fun to play and everyone loves it

  • 4:30 HAHAHA

I might have said that exact thing about that exact song a couple times in the past

  • Brian Enjoyed your video. It makes me feel that Im not alone out there. SO I feel your pain about hotel gigs

  • what's the name of the track played at 7.12?

  • house of pain. jump around

  • Heey Brian, are you a full time DJ or do you have another ''main'' job?

  • whats that song called at 6:11?

  • hahahahaha 5:06 - 5:07 hilarius

  • i just bought the electric slide cd.1990.the original album the song came out on.i love that cd.

  • We have a newly constructed Hilton nearby with virtually the same "load in" situation. It defies logic how someone can design a building and NOT include a service entrance, it should be against the law!

  • Brian, I'm a new watcher but... You couldn't be more on the button with the food at 3:00. High end places make me feel like I'm the gardner when it comes to eating. Sucks right!

  • hiphop time from 6.30:p

always goo to play a couple of hiphop tracks behind eachother and after a couple of those throw in an entirley different genre

  • like a prayer....madonna

  • mmmmm

    mystic led!!!

    want one!!!

  • Brian, here's some advice for load ins/ outs that's worked wonders for me. Get a convertable dolly ie. "Cobra Jr Hand Truck".

    Regards,

    Stefan

  • ik dont think you have 17 gigs in 12 days???

  • great gig blog brian.. keep em coming.

  • haha like the A1partydjz ending lololol

  • I also have a set of Numark CDN-88s tht i bought used several months ago from a club dj which work great. It just sounds like the previous dj didnt take good care of his equipment.

  • Great Gig... I am so stealing your gig closing line.

  • I gotta SAY THAT SOULJA BOY SONG REALLY CAN GO TO HELL!! LOL!! I thought I was the only one that truly can got to hell!!

  • Hi, i have a Question to ask you i just got the Mixmeister Fusion Software and i was wondering if it works with any Cd player or Digital player controller that has MIDI in it? And Does the Mixer needs to work on MIDI too or only the Cd Player? Because i was planning in getting the Denon HC4500 USB/MIDI Audio Interface Controller but will it work on the MixMeister Fusion?

  • great play by play....hope to see some more soon....

  • How is it to work with the Martin Freekie??

    Is't good??

  • play some rave songs........like some hands-up trance.... they should appreciate it....

  • sal american de merde

  • Uh, the downtown hotel gigs are such a pain in the butt! Loading in through tiny hallways and kitchens.. gotta love it! Welcome to the biz, lol! Check out my new video. I havn't put videos up in a long while, and I plan on starting again!

  • Would have it been better to have an out tro??? when you fin your nite it always seams more pro than bye good nite??

    Cheers chris

  • man those people had fun that night thats for sure good job Brian.

  • Yeah Brian, you are just asking for people to set their drinks on that sub.

Why setting it out front like that?

  • A video is comming on that soon. It's actually a very nice set-up (aside from the whole drink thing). Ultimatly, it'll go under the table

  • I used to do the under the table thing. Shook the players too much. Now I did away with the table entirely. Video forthcoming. :)

    Good stuff as always Brian.

  • elvis crespo!!! jaja bien ahi!!!

  • Soulja Boy - "this song can go to hell!" DAMN RIGHT!

  • did u slap the broad that put her drink on your sub???

    *sigh* people suck

  • thats a gig dam!!! good job

  • 5:35 - what's to compare? It looks and sounds too sweet!

  • Hahaha.

    5.05

So true it hurts, Its like selling your soul for a full dancefloor.

  • maybe you did this already but, could you explain to me how to use only 1 sub with 2 mids n tops? I do 2 subs, but for small places I have 2 self powered 15's and want to run a passive 18" sub with my american audio

v4000plus amp, how to??? please... THX

  • I'll try to get something together in a video when things chill out over here a bit. Right now, things are NUTTY

  • LOL!!!!

hey I like the Numark 88's. still have a pair that i use on my gigs. Would not trade them for anything.... well maybe a pair of Denon Dn-S3500 (but thats it)

  • Hey Al, when did thoes Numarks come out? The issue with thoes is that the PLAY button only works when it wants to. Then again, they have been used 6 nights a week for several years

  • Not sure, But i have had mine for about 5 years, so maybe a little longer than that. Numark equipment is not made to take everyday punishment, but they work very well if properly maintained. I had that problem last year so i had them cleaned out, I think i was just dust and particles on the boards or something, either way they have been working fine since then.

  • The MixMeiste software that you used, can you use it on any brand of cd player or mixer for the dj. for a live party?

  • Mixmeister dosen't work with CD players. It works with MP3s in your computer's hard drive. The CD players are a sepperate deal

  • ur right! Soulja Boy can go to hell! it suXZ

  • Hi, i have a question about the MixMeister software that you use? How do you connect the Cd Player & Mixer to your laptop and make the software work alltogether? and what kind of cables do you used to connected the laptop to the dj?

  • Hey Brian,

You guys in the States are so lucky. You start at 6pm and finish at midnight. I live just outside of Toronto we start at 5pm 95% of the time and go until 1:00am 99% of the time and we get paid less from what I understand. However, I get a real meal from my weddings (no sandwiches here). It is actually in my contract that we must get a meal along with non-alcholic beverages(We are there anywhere from 9 to 10 hours including setup and tear down). Keep up the good work. Take care.

  • So are you discreet walking thru the hotel security section with a video camera? I would think they'd stop you. Maybe they were taking a nap.

Would have been cool do see a gig log from Isfan on the same night.

  • Nah, if they know who you are and don't go making a big thing of it, they don't say anything

  • lol "this song can so go to hell"

  • lol i love these dj blogs

  • seems u do well in weddings!!

i done a few but i mostly do teen work and club events but ya id love to work with you if im ever in milwaukee

    keep up the good work!!!

  • That club is the Grand Geneva! I've been there a couple of times, and was always disappointed with the DJ. I'm so glad you and Julian will be spinning there. Thanks for all of your informative videos.

  • fun gig! lol i spy on the competition all the time, and talk to the dj's almost all the time also, i talked to one other dj and he was completely taken back that i would have a chat with him, thats the nice thing about doing mobile gigs and having multiple rooms at the place

lol poking fun at the aussie guy...

    that loadout sucks!

  • A load in and out like that and you get an Effin BOX LUNCH! No way, You are a better man than I am, I would most def. had the same food the gusts have, AND drank a ton of beer! LOL. I find that getting in early and playing requests from the staff goes a LONG way! Its help me secure food and booze for the night. Nice log BTW. Any chance you could post a playlist for the night? I'd like to see exactly what goes for receptions in your neck of the woods.

  • Great gig log....the load out was identical to one i did for a 'friend' he has a new job for a charity had a christmas fund raiser a the London Hammersmith Novetel...I wished i had known i would have charged double!!!!! never again unless big big money.....cheek was i was meant to be paid on the night and didnt get it for 6 weeks!!!!!! arrghhhh

    great work

    all the best

    jason

  • HAHAHAHA XD "if youv had a shitty night my name is A1 party DJS" WTF Bri

  • Don't diss Miley yo. She my biatch. Another great log.

  • How does that 1 sub system sound? and what size is it? an 18"?

  • I like it real well. You may have seen my old gig logs where I would run one on each side. Well, this way, it seems the BOOM is more focused on the dancefloor (putting the sub in the middle) and less at Grandma's table to the far left of the room where she's trying to talk to uncle Bob

  • man i hate load outs and going thur all the hallways and elevators i remember a month ago i did a prom at indiana downs horse track and they had another prom upstars from us and we started a hour earlyer than upstairs so we started and we are rocking the party and the kids are loving it the a old lady from upstairs is like we can hear you up stars we need you to turn it down and all the kids are like NO+ haha it was great when they started upstairs we turned it back up and they never came back

  • Nice size dance floor and wtg on filling it up!. The soulja boy comment made me laugh so hard that coffee came out my nose all over the keyboard. I cringe when a request comes in for either Soulja Boy or Akon... UGGH! Great Vid Bri.

  • 7.15 what a classic house of pain --jump around

i like the end too .... if you enjouyed te evening my name is brian and if you didnt my name is a1partydjs

    classic

  • a little bit of video comparison to another party at the same venue...very cool...and yess to cha cha slide...and Flo-Rida!!!

  • Yeah, well thoes kids next door did a pretty good job too.

  • Hey, is the ADJ Mystic the LED version of the ADJ vertigo? That fixture looks pretty sweet.

  • It's very much a similar effect. I THINK (not sure, can't remember) that the difference between the Mystic & the Vertigo is that the Mystic actually moves inside? Hell, I can't remember. But yeah, it's a cool light :)

  • no its an LED version of the chauvet cyborg

  • We're talking about what ADJ halogen light it compairs to

  • hahaha I TOTALLY AM ON THE SAME PAGE WITH YOU WEN IT COMES TO SOULDJA BOY. Shittiest song ever, and the kids want it, so lame. Nice gig Bri,

  • *Soulja boy plays*, "this song can so go to hell"

    i agree :P

    great video though!

  • Soulja boy has more than one song that "can so go to hell". This just goes to show that recent music is driven by marketing and not talent.

  • Totally true omega ! hip hop is dead ... not all of it but mostly ... lil wayne is good though so is 50

still dosnt beat buck 65 thats REAL hip hop

And brian ... you are right ! GO TO HELL SOULJA BOY

The kid always says the same thing over and over and over again

  • Thoes special "Shout-outs" are something I like to so occasionaly :)

  • 2 weddings, did the other dj come say hi? j

  • I said hi. I know thier boss (they are a big multi-opp in town). The DJs were nice kids

  • Man that set sounds a hell of lot like mine - Cha Cha Slide, Soulja Boy(!), Abba, Outkast, House of Pain etc.

I have a prom and then an 18th coming up so I may just try some Humperdink!

How did Julian get on with the club gig?

  • Well, I wouldn't try it at your Prom.. HA! Wait until you see 60somethings in your audience.

  • Heh, heh! Maybe you're right - though I do like to throw in a curve ball every once in a while and I've had more hits than misses so far! Memorable ones were Lynyrd Skynyrd (Sweet Home Alabama) at a Prom, Andy Williams (Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You) at an 18th and Isley Brothers (Summer Breeze) at a school graduation. THEY LOVED THEM!!!

Yet there are some 'sure fire' tracks I play that clear the floor - go figure! I was on BBC Radio Nottingham yesterday talking about this exact thing.

  • haha i like when solja boy was playing you go this song can so go to hell

  • Hey bro we should have hooked up last nite. We were at the Intercontinental Hotel downtown(The old Wyndam Hotel). It was very difficult to get to as Kilbourn Ave. was all torn up. Lots of b.s. loading too. I loved the end of you vid. showing us all the doors & crap you have to go through to load your vehicle. That's why we call it HIGH HILTON.

  • HA!  HIGH HILTON! Well it wasn't the Hyatt, but close. That damn Hilton is the WORST in town!

  • Hi Just wanted to say a big hello from the UK to the now famous WaveyDavey!!!!!!

    great work

    jason

  • Do you own the club? :D

  • No, Julian and I just started a resedency there

  • what is that song at 06:58?

its really nice cann which one it is?

  • "It's nothing to be...OW!" Lol @ brian; i'm sure we've all managed to do that before. At least if you're a klutz like me :-p

  • Cool vid but the hallways and lift is just to much

  • good work

  • 'if you didnt have a good time my name is a1partydjs from melbourne australia' that was quality! looks like you had a good night and nice gig log.

  • Nice video Brian!

The get-in looks like a pain though!

  • Nice gig log bri

you know the gear at the club was that yours or theirs,

and i think your setup was better than that other guys HA
