Yes, I agree. God does not want women to look like men or men to look like women but he also does not want a woman to wear anything that is normally associated with a man like pants according to Deu 22:5. He also does not want women to look like harlots or prostitutes who displays their shapes and figures in pants or tight dresses. Women should wear dresses and the dresses needs to be loose and long.

Like his messages, but he promotes legalism. Jesus Christ dealt a lot with the inward man. Remember what he told the pharissees. Clean the inside of the cup and dish and then the outward would be clean also. What comes out of a man is what defiles him.

You are so correc schohazz7174. I was saved in a church where the pastor taught against women wearing pants and make up and earrings. He even put a dress and woman's hat on at a convention meeting to show you how bad it looked and said that is how bad it looked when women wear pants. If it is such an abomination then he should not have put it on for any reason. People do take the scripture out of context like not letting a woman speak in church.

Deu 22:5 makes it crystal clear that if women wear that which pertains to men they are an abomination to God. It says "ALL that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God." All means everyone in every place, every age, every nation, every race, every church, every denomination.

You do not have to wear long loose dresses to be saved. Your salvation is not in the clothing. And in biblibal times when they scripture was written about women not wearing that pertaineth to a man was not referring to pants because men weren't wearing pants then. Think about it. Anyway women should dress modestly if they are saved but not like an old woman. That means no mini skirts, or too tight pants or skirts. And if women are going to cover their heads then cover the whole head.

Greetings shelly2shoe. Yes, both women and the priestly men wore some kind of head-covering because this kind of garment was not peculiar to either gender. But pants is different . The Dictionary defines trousers as "an outer garment, ESPECIALLY FOR men and boys: also called pants." Pants on women are closely connected to lasciviousness (lust) because it outlines their shape which should only be displayed in the privacy of a marriage relationship.

Jesus said , Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15:14). Lol to ElvisLewisJr, but we take certain scriptures out of context, confusing Mosaic Law with New Covenant. The Bible does stress holiness, but holiness is a lifestyle and not a wardrobe. If we are so bent on this law, why don't we follow all the laws of the Old Testament?. The answer is because we have an advocate with the Father through Jesus Christ, who saves us through His blood sacrifice. The rest is just works, and you can't ever please God with works, because man is inherently sinful.

There are people lost in homosexuality, murder, lust, pride, deceitfullness, drunkeness, etc. If we follow one verse of a whole book of laws, we must follow the entire book. The law will condemn us, but it is Jesus's blood that can redeem us. Bishop Patterson had a point: why is it that we focus on verse 5 yet ignore verse 11? By the standards in Deut., everyone is damned to hell, so there really is no point on going to church anyway. Jesus died so we may still have a way.

I have seen women with long skirts and plain faces and were as hateful and evil as ever. People need to understand that it is God's heaven and only he says who goes. There is no scripture that says wearing make up is a sin. And Jesus never said you couldn't and the scripture that speaks about head coverings also says "We have no such custom" if you keep reading down. Jesus was speaking through the man Paul, the Apostle, when he said in 1 Cor 11:5 "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head." All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and 1 Cor 11:5 is scritpure. (2Tim 3:16)

Historically women did not start to wear pants until the feminist movement in the late 1800s/early 1900s, many out of rebellion against men. Today pants are made for women as well, but most styles are made cut immodestly to shape their bodies and to accentuate their curves, and figure. This attracts men, and causes them to lust after women. A (loose long) skirt or dress is more appropriate to cover a woman's body more adequately...

If we want to quote Deuteronomy, why don't we go down to verse 11 of that same chapter where it states (NIV version): Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together. Or how about the verses in Deuteronomy that speak of bringing God burnt offerings, or the verses that speak about not allowing ten generations of children born in forbidden marriage enter the temple. The Law was made to separate the chosen people of God from the evil people of the world.

wearing of make-up exposes a seed of pride in the individual, (God is the potter and we are the clay, and I never saw a vase decorate itself.) and like sin it starts with something simple and then it explodes in the persons life. then there are battles that brew in the congregation on who is cuter, and one trying to out do the other.
