Maybe if someone could manage to track down an old employee. It was published by Bandai, but made by Human Entertainment which, if I'm not mistaken, is out of business now.

I'm not certain what it could be in the pumpkin boss. Is that the only graphics descernable there aside the blocks and X's?

The x's were added by me. Bandai blacked out all those graphics when it was localized. I'm pretty sure the general shape of what was there is still there, but each of the graphics are completely unusable unless redrawn. I added some other graphics besides the x's too, but I was just playing around with it. regardless of what it was, we know it had the same pallette as the plant mosnter's background: light purple and two shades of grey.

I'm wondering if the BG had something to do with the boss himself and what he said.

Well i'm not certain about what he said originaly, but what I meant was that maybe it had something to do with what he said as of now ("please don't pick on me").
