Problem is, in some other Balkan countries they call burek what we call sirnica, thats with cheese. I know Bulgarians do that and they call burek just PITA.

In Bosnia, burek means just burek with meat, burek with other fillings have other names for example sirnica (burek with cheese), zeljanica (burek with spinach), krompirusa (burek with potatoes) and so on. In Serbia and other former yugoslav countries they call sirnica burek with cheese. If you go to a buregdzinca in Bosnia you will most likely find different bureks on the menu. Pozdrav iz Svedske

@TheVelic Netacno burek ili Börek(turski) je jelo napravljeno od jufke i napunjeno necim, izmedju ostalog moze biti i sir. Tako da ovi koji seru da ne moze biti burek sa sirom ustvari grijese. Burek naprosto znaci pita.

@berinxy Moze biti burek sa sirom, jer u stvari burek rijec turskog porijekla znaci pita, srolana jufka. Stvar je sto su ljudi u bosni prisvojili burek kao svooje jelo a naziv koriste samo za bureke u kojima ima mesa. A to je jako pogresno.

What you may have learned to be "sirnica" in Bosnia is called "burek with cheese" (burek sa sirom) in Serbia and Croatia. So don't panic, that's not unusual, and still traditional.

The original (turkish) burek (börek)is also multilayered and was made with cheese, spinach, meat etc. What YOU mean, search for and need is a Bosnian burek. :)
