I'll never forget Alex Kidd. Me and my brother used to fight on who should play the next level and it went on and on. Now I'm stucking with using the emulator since the old thing is left under a matress.
Man, I had a bad time playing Astec Adventure! Maybe it was a good game but I think it's because I was too kid. It seemed to me like it was an impossible game, difficult as hell! Could never imagne that somebody would put it in a MS tribute video, didnt know it was known. Thanks for the video, good editing and music. Nostalgic.
All the boss battle were easy in this game but one......this battle was one the most longest and epic RPG battles I have been apart of! It came down to the last hit...I remember saying, "If this hit doesnt do it, then its over!". When that last hit finished the battle, I went crazy!
Wow this made me shiver. Master System was the 1st console i aver had. I remember the 1st day, trying to tune it in on channel 36 on the uhf. And seeing Hang-On for the 1st time. I hade Model 1.
ive been looking at some youtube videos of people saying the master system sucks because it got its ass kicked by the nes, it does not suck, it sold more models where i come from than it did in the u.s, and another thing, imagine if you couldnt afford a mega drive, or as you call it a genesis, if you couldnt afford it back in the day there are a lot of master system conversions of mega drive games that are well worth owning
Long live the master system, im a sony man now but the 8 bit era was legendary, SMS and NES to me are still king, although I had more games on the SMS.
Black Belt Choplifter Enduro Racer Fantasy Zone Ghost House Impossible Mission James Bond The Duel Paperboy Shinobi Teddy Boy Trans-Bot Vigilante Wonder Boy Monster Land
I had A SMS II what a console. Here In the UK the SMS was much more popular than the bland NES. I can remember having Aztec Adventure, Double Dragon, Enduro Racer, Super Kick off, Zillon 2, World Grand prix, Sonic 1 and 2, The Ninja and of course Alex Kidd In miracle world (built In)
About time somebody gave some praise to The Ninja! It seems very little people seem to know about the game - that was my favourite game as a kid. Sure it's simple, and doesn't exactly push the system to its limits, but it has longer lastability than many, many games.
Another one is Ninja Gaiden. It lacks the amount of detail found in the NES version, but is otherwise graphically superior and plays better, in my opinion. Try it out. ;-)
Haha I was 7 when I owned the master system. It was cool how some of the games came on like a little credit card looking thing. I cant remember the name of the game that is last displayed though but remember playing it a lot.
I'm so excited that this system is finally coming to the Wii Virtual Console. I have fond memories of playing games from this system with my cousin after school when I was in 7th grade ( a very long time ago). It just brings me back to a much simpler time. Shinobi and AfterBurner were the best.
Yeppers. GameGear games will be thrown into the Master System service as well. It will probably be this Monday, since they said it would be released sometime in Feburary.
Alex Kidd in Miracle World. This game was eventually built in to the Master System II. Space Harrier After Burner Asterix Cloud Master Psycho Fox Ghosts n Goblins Hang On Double Dragon Ghostbusters Columns Outrun Joe Montana Football Fantasy Zone Wonder Boy 3
Alex Kidd in (I think) Miracle World. If it isn't Miracle World than it's still Alex Kidd and you can bet the rest if the game is titled "In BLANK World".
I loved the SMS, it was the NES/Famicons main rival. It was MUCH BETTER than the NES, but Nintendo already owned the market, the SMS had a hard time competing.
Not counting variants, there were 11; the SG-1000, SC-3000, SMS/Mark III, Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Gear, Sega/Mega CD, Pico, 32X, Saturn, Nomad and the Dreamcast.
Nice job man. I noticed a game in there I hadn't seen before, the RPG that's just before Fantasy Zone. Had a look online and found it was "Y's: The Vanished Omens"... never seen screenshots/footage of it before. Looks pretty fun, might have to check it out.
LOL screaming fanboy but acting like one. The mastersystem was technically superior to the NES. In every bit - that is a fact. I won't debate games - that is a matter of taste.
When are you going to realize that everyone will agree with you when it comes to the NES? Just get over it. And just because I'm calling you out doesn't make me a fanboy. I love my NES too, you know.
golden axe, sonic, altered beast...ahhhhh...fantastic memories.I wish i saw them in this tribute, but not space enough i guess, for all the great games provided by this console.

I got SMS for Double Dragon....
Alas DD wasn't that great for the machine. But I was introduced to the many delights SMS could offer. One of the most underrated machines I'd say.
Perhaps if it had stolen more of Nintendo's thunder the Megadrive wouldn't have been rushed out. Thus Sega's doom was cast perhaps in the SMS days.
