  • Dems should apologize for forcing socialized medicine down everyones throat. After that, they should be thrown out on their asses. And as a voter, I'm going to make sure of that this November, because I'm not going along with their neo-marxist bullshit.

  • what an idiot you are Chris "spit" Mathews. You just hate republicans and you do have that tingles in your legs, huh? You are one pathetic journalist. No wonder you are rated so fucking low. There's only 10 people watch you and they are all dumb democrats.

  • I'm sick of both parties. They have done nothing that's important for 30 years now. Same important stuff never gets fixed. It amazes me people get behind any of them.

  • funny how the bush people and republicans have issues with the dems in the whitehouse

thats coming from the same republicans who stole the election in 2000 with a flawed florida supreme court were most of the judges were put there by Bush 1

then 2004 used a fake bin laden tape 3 days before election to scare people, swift voted a vietnam hero like John Kerry...

then 2008 they bring Pahlin to try and fool women in voting gop just cuse there is a female on the ballot...they think we are dumb

  • wow.. see, all these flaming republicans on youtube are pathetic..

lets just quickly assume that all the stupid shit they say is correct, and that all politicians are out to kill us.

ok, so assuming mccain, palin, obama, and biden are super villians...

which one would you rather have as president?

I'll take the one that can give a speech.

  • Our country is in a deep hole. what more could he possibly doto make the situation worse, i'm come on. we are pretty much living in a modern version of the great depression

  • i like how the bald dude was all smiles untill matthews said that "the idea that you should pussyfoot if your a democrat but if your a republican you go in whole hog"

  • these posts are awesome dude, liberals ALWAYS state thier opinions as facts, in so many posts on here you can see it, its hilarious - the only thing i can pin it on is that most of them seem to be uneducated or uninformed/ or you try to question anything they say - they go nuts - unless you think EXACTLY like them they literally hate you - funny actually

  • is it just me, or does that guys forehead look weird??

  • haha it looks like there's a speaker in matthews's forehead!

  • He's a got a point tho. We learned our lesson with Bush, that doesn't mean the other side should get to do the same and end up hurting the country as well. Both parties when in Office should try to govern from the center for the sake of the country, not the sake of their parties.

  • GO Chris!!!!!!

  • That seems a little more fair. LOL.

  • How stupid do you have to be to make an illogical argument like that? Bush stole the first election. The second one he won from the process actually happening correctly.

  • Hmm is Obama does like a mandate Bush. Cut taxes for the middle class, give everyone rich & poor healthcare, end the war in Iraq with dipolmacy, create jobs with green tech, affordable education, better education for public, tax the supper rich billionares who taxpayers bailed out, send troops to Afghan & end it at the same time. I'm okay with Obama's mandate, I wasn't okay with Bush or Chaney's mandate. Or Chaney's Enron buddiesn to scam people or pushing Neocon agenda.

  • give 'em hell chris

  • Nope, dems don't have anything to apologize for! They won the election fair and square!

I think that this election has been a lot more fair than either the elections in 2000 &

2004! I tip my hat to them! Congrats dems!!

  • The economy is pretty fragile right now, maybe

we need a breath of fresh air!

Give Mr. Obama a chance! But I think he(Obama)

will be a very cautious leader at this time,

what with the economy on such shaky ground right now!

  • We need a new recreational facility in Guantanamo for Republican right wingers. Perhaps we could lure them with a new ride called water boarding :)

  • Sounds x-treme, lol...

  • But hey, Bush can't be held accountable for starting a war in Iraq. He said God told him to do it! (yes, I am joking)

  • I highly doubt that he can muff things up worse than bush. Fuck you repub scum.

  • @RacerEckss

obama takes in a trillion dollar deficit and turns it into a three trillion dollar deficit within his first year? And that's his idea of balancing a budget? And now socialized medicine - how exactly is insane hussein going to pay for this?

So no, fuck you and the rest of your neo-marxist libtard friends running congress. You can all go to hell! DeMint 2012!

    DON'T TREAD ON ME

  • Difference is that People were denied voting when Bush was elected. Now it turns out that Ohio in 2004 was "illegal its all coming out. Also, we all had to show our photo ID this time when we voted.

  • Using that logic, then we shouldnt have a Republicn for 20 years! Priase the Lord if that is true.

  • da republicans jus catn stand to see a black man in office..cuz if u noticed dey not goin at the democratic party as a whole theyre jus targeting him

  • Somebodies butthurt about losing

  • wow, talk about a sore LOSER!

  • Dude there is no way an incident like Acorn could give Obama the popular vote by over 8 million, there is no way a margin of error could exist. Deal with it.

  • He is your president if you're an American. You're not going to BS anyone successfully. By living here you agree to the election process, and Obama won by a lot, not because of a stupid little Acorn incident.

  • Yes, John Mc Cain spoke for Acorn just 2 yrs ago.

  • Rehabilitation? In other words forcing YOUR doctrine on them. I am not denying Republicans are screwed up but THEY'RE STILL HUMAN BEINGS WHO HAVE THE UNALIENABLE RIGHT OF FREEWILL DAMN IT! I've taken Holocaust History good sir and this sounds alot like what Hitler proposed for Communists and homosexuals: "rehabilitation" that later became an excuse for genocide. But seeing as how FDR (a Democrat) interned Asian Americans just for being Asian, I'm not surprised.

  • It is time to open your eyes elg, the Democrats are just as corrupt as the Republicans. Democrats have advocated censorship of free speech ("net neutrality" and "Fairness Doctrine"), strict gun control laws (hell some of them even create bills making it legal to prosecute self-defense cases), violation of privacy (FISA, Patriot Act(in fact in the 2001 version out of the whole US Senate only Feingold voted against it), and an interventionist foreign policy. I dare you to counter any of these.

  • They aslo think leaving environmental issues up to the government is a great idea. Lest me remind you the last time government got involved with renewable energy lots of land was freed up for the production of corn to produce more ethanol at the expense of rice growers. Most of this corn was grown solely for the purpose of producing ethanol and not feeding people. People starved to death. This is what happens when gov't cares more about going "green" than feeding the hungry.

  • You see while Republicans may be warmongering bible thumping corporate loving bigots, Democrats (with the exception of a few) are anti-individual government worshipping fucking hypocrites. You want me to vote for the bullshit "party of progress" if it wishes to violate the foundations on which our country was founded? If it has no respect for the first two amendments of our Constitution? They lost this civil libertarian's vote a long time ago.

  • Perhaps you would be happier in Nigeria? I bet a number of people would be glad to help you sell your belongings to pay for a boat trip.

  • No thanks, I get enough emails from Nigerian "emissaries" telling me I got full inheritance of $100 million US and all they need is my bank account and routing number so they can complete the transaction. That was pretty good, LOL.

  • democrats arent a perfect party as theyre portrayed rite now. mainly cause compared the the republican leadership of the last 8 years, anything that ISNT republicn seems golden. but come on, the republicans are so far gone rite now, its not even funny. it may be a lesser of two evils, but the republicans, at this time, are a total joke. they'll come back in the near future, but i look at the majority of dems and repubs, rite now i trust the democrats WAY more. the right isnt willing to let go

  • I'm not saying the Republicans are the lesser of two evils, fuck no! I'm just saying I'm pissed off that alot of people are so blind to the corruptness of the two party system. They think that just because the Republican party is full of corporate loving douchebags that the Democrat Party is full of loving would never hurt a fly we love freedom party when in fact they are just as bad. But hey, lesser of two evils, right?

  • LOL my Ghetto "history" LOL Really? now you sound like a little spoil sport thats all pissy cause you lost the game,,, grow up and embrace the future, stop being so negative and get involved if your not happy, change it from the inside out,, you'll never change it from the outside in, don't you have parents? didn't they teach you anything about caring for others instead of yourself,, that whole me generation didn't work, the republicans have crippled us, thats over now!!!

  • I might have learned to spell his name if I thought he was worth a shit,,, but he wasn't,,, your deer sweet out of work sad excuse for an actor was another corrupt politician, or have you forgotten the Iranian arms deals,, oh,, its ok if its a republican right? your such an idiot,,, and you probably didn't know that it was his people that made a Deal with the Iranians to hold on to the hostages until he was sworn in so it would make Jimmy Carter and his administration look bad, didn't know that

  • mayb880,,,, really,,Socialist, Rev Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, you forgot that dude that was a spokes person for the Palistinians ,,, Hey mayb880, the election is over the right lost, you can now stop the false and meaningless attacks, they didn't work then and they making you look stupid now.

  • Oh, now we're talking about Reagen? you mean the guy that was propped up by the right wing criminals that worked for that crook Nixon? is that the guy your talking about? And as far as anyone turning this country into a Communist country,, I think your buddy Bush is doing that right now with all the money we're are spending to bail out all these geniuses and C.E.O.s Is that what the right stands for now,, more idiots

  • mayb880 I was commenting on the idiot that Chris Mathews was talking to in this video, I am well aware of how the electoral college works, and I was trying to point out that Bush was not elected with a so calledMandate Majority, Yet the right keep touting that Obama needs to operate from the center as if they have any right to dish out advice. If you believe what the this guy is saying then you are terribly mis informed.

  • I hope you're joking. I'm definitely not Republican but I'm still bothered by extremely facist ideas like throwing groups of people in internment camps just because they disagree with a certain point of view.

  • damn right! obama got more of the popular vote in 2008 than reagan did in 1980 or bush jr. did in either of his elections. the republicans have to say it's not a realignment just to comfort themselves. go grab a blanket and pacifier. we'll see you cry-babies in 2012.

  • ya! go Chris!

  • Thank you Chris Matthews

  • People, people , people, you will never be able to reason with followers of some one like Bush, in 2000 he only garnered 48% of the popular vote, Nader Garnered 3% of the vote and Gore 48.5 % of the vote, if not for Nader, Gore would have won,,, no one remembers that little tid bit, Besides bush couldn't even pronounce simple words like Nuclear get that, it NUCLEAR not Nuke ular idiot,, stud fool,,, and nobody picked up on that., how do you expect they will listen to common sense IDIOTS

  • "The environment is fine, everything is made now in China since the Bill Clinton gave them most favored nation trade status."

That comment is so crazy! So if they pollute in China- no biggie? Right! Pollution in the air stays in only Chinese air? Pollution in the ocean stays only in the Chinese ocean? You should read the book "Earth as a Living Planet". You would realize that what you are saying is like "I only have cancer in my liver- that can't affect my brain."

  • You should tell this person to think of air pollution as a giant fart. We've all been in a room with a dude that rips some two day old taco special in the room and clears out 300 square feet. You might not "smell" chinas fart ... but you can taste it can't you?

  • OMG, LMAO at your analogy! I'll never think the same way about Chinese air pollution again... ;-)

  • Ha. Ha. And Ha.

  • The guy with the pumpkin for a head is right about the dems not having to apologize for winning, how they won is another matter (ACORN), but pumpkin head is wrong about the tax cuts, Bush said he would cut taxes, and he did, for ALL TAXPAYERS, not just the rich, pumpkin head does not understand, you cannot cut taxes for people WHO DO NOT PAY TAXES. More than 40% of Americans do not pay income tax, the top 5% pay 90% of the income tax.

  • Laceylynn123, you've stated your position very well. Actually, I was born at the very end of what is described as the Baby Boom generation. I have 15 years left to work, no savings and little put away for retirement (divorce, economic crash). Social Security might be there for me - or not. I watched my dying mother try to survive on $900 a month from SS. Not enough! She needed to live with me. I'm afraid I'll be like her.

  • Obama/Bush = Good cop/Bad cop. Now that we have scared the crap out of our enemies, we can offer them a cup of coffee and ask if they want to cut a deal.

I always knew that this would happen after Iraq was resolved and it is a good situation for America.

  • "Gee Whiz, Im sorry for being here" - Love it

  • Hey, maybe if you use his middle name as his first name it will confuse people into thinking he's a crazy terrorist who happened to slip into the White House! Or maybe they'll think he's really Saddam in a mask! So clever...

  • Fuck yeah Chris Matthews! You guys speak with a forked tongue! HA! this guy has balls, the Dems need more of guys like this.

  • I'm a Republican who voted for Barack.

We need to wise up and not buy crap like this guy is trying to spew out.

  • Its good to see that theres still intelligent republicans out there who dont buy into that blatent garbage. People who spew such absurd statements, lies, realy destroys their credibility. Though it both parties have had their blunders, this year the republican party basicly handed the democrats this, and with an extra little push from bush, palin, and mccain, the win was all but handed over. Overkill came with the intelligence and charisma of the canidate. Just my thoughts anyway.

  • Do you really think Sarah Palin in the White House would have been a good thing? "You Betcha." I don't think so. Four more years of Bush and it'll be WWIII. The rest of the world would destroy us.

  • Obama bought the white house. 48% still don't want Obama.

  • Do you seriously believe that? He wins by a large margin and you think 48% still dont want him?

  • He only won 51% of the popular vote. 48% still don't want him. The 48% that work for a living.

  • You don't work for a living so what are you griping about?

Those who do work for a living are often underemployed so stop acting like anyone is taking away the pennies you earn.

  • yeah thats why he won more votes from people making over 250,000 than mccain. Oops did I just bust your bubble? you argument is not true.

  • BY THE WAY Obama won 53% mccain 46%

  • Suck to them, huh?

  • What did I say? I meant to type "Sucks to be them."

  • Well get used to him, cuz thats your president for the next 8 years

  • 4 years at MOST

  • It's the good ol' Republican double-standard. I'm glad people are finally calling them on it after 8 years.

  • yeah , he will try to change things until the immovable objects of Waters , Dodd , Frank and Pelosi get in his way .

yeah , i put him down but only because i see him as an idealist puppet who has no real conviction , he is just happy to be here and wants to leave a legacy. when a pol tries to prove something , we are all in trouble , because what's right no longer exists , it's all about preservation and a second term . AVPr , no matter who wins , we both lose . JV

  • Is that a repub crying over spilt milk or what. Talk about a puke.

  • What an asshat! The only way that Obama's going to end his administration with a 22% approval rating if he imitates George Duh-bya Bush! The C+ Augustus.

  • Republicans = Corporate Fascism

  • i agree 100% if you look at a policital spectrum, they're so far right they pretty much do count as fascists...

  • ...and the same time saying they represent the center. God knows they've said it so much and so long half the people think it's the truth.

  • they're both idiots...

  • "they're both idiots..."

U should wish to be an idiot like Obama:

    Harvard Grad Magna Cum Laude

    Constitutional Law Professor

    State Senator

    U.S. Senator

    Sponsor of 131 Bills

    President of the United States

    Now which are you?

High Schoolstudent or trailer park dweller or BOTH?

  • I was referring to the pundits, but yeah...

  • we will see what all those " accolades " mean .

it all sounds pretty , but has he affected actual change yet , his record indicates he has not . he has compiled an impressive academic resume , but we shall see if it serves him well during primetime . JV

  • So why do people like Reagan so much?

  • They don't. His average approval rating was 52% over his eight years in office. This nonsense we hear from the GOP today about Reagan's popularity is a continuing propaganda campaign that was launched when he died.

  • Your right.

  • Movie star? He was a total loser when it came to economic policy.

  • And your right.

  • they have to apologize because people like you always feel bad! fuck 'em! We won! They need to get over it! Too bad. Bummer. Republicans LOST. Stop talking about it! It makes us look bad!

  • rofl

did he just say "the idea that uz a puzzy foot?"

    lmao it sounded like that

  • i am no republican, but i am glad you are not in charge

  • for those people saying obama does not have a mandate, i have a uestion. obama won the presinesy by a landslide, dems took over the senate and the house of reps. if this is not a cause for a mandate, what is?

  • Democracy is about a majority, not a mandate. I don't care if he won by one vote he should press ahead with all energy for whatever he wants.

Griping on the right is embarrassing.

What they really need to do is get rid of that 60% rule to pass a bill. That's not in the constitution I think.

    Vote America First Party.

  • obama is a ''liberal'' and democrats don't have to apologize for winning the election. ''democrats'' have been known to be ''peaceful'' in times of ''war''. so let's see if obama can use his influence among worldly leaders and move on to a better challenge.

  • To hell with the conservatives for expecting the Democrats to apologise for being Democrats and with liberal views and policies.

  • GO TWEETY!!!

  • it is rep attitude to blame around...

they`ll push mcarthyism here and there.

measure them by their own means!

    +a pussybunch

  • Seriously Sammie18B... Obama isn't president until January 20th! Your level of ignorance speaks volumes about you. You are obviously not just a racist but incredibly uneducated and uninformed.

  • yeah that comment shows his ignorance..i think he just wanted a reason to try to use the word nigger

  • wow, he's not even in office yet ya dipshit racist.

  • lol... hahahahaa he's not even president yet LOL ur a fucking idiot.

  • That bald strategist on the right is a big asshole. The country isn't leaning far-left but it's not as centrist as republicans make it appear. we want progressive policies not a bunch of corporations-first hogwash that has existed since 1980. Obamanomics will replace the crappy Reaganomics that W has followed these past 8 years. Later supply side.

  • Term limit of 6 years on all these old guys in the House and Senate. They get in there and do ANY thing to stay. I propose 6 limit (still have to be elected each 2 yrs) sit out 6 years then allowed to run again.

  • u hve a point, if president time is limited, y shldnt the other half of washington have a limit on thr time in office. face it most voters have no real clue who thr dist. house rep is & some dnt knw who thr senate rep is, so when thy vote, thy either vote for a name thy remembr seeing on a sign or tv r just whichever peron represents thr party, which may not b the rite person for the job. so u can have a bad senator or house membr in office 4ever winning over & over solely frm name recognitn

  • exactly right Chris Matthews. Bush barely won and crowed about his political capital and how he was going to spend it. Obama won by 6% and conservatives are saying he has no mandate.

    It's bullshit.

  • I love that Matthews said what I always wonder, why is it that when republicans win then the people have spoken, yet if a dEmocrat does, then they have to adjust to the public's beliefs?

  • LOL HE CALLED HIM A PUSSY FOOT! HAHAHAHA Awesome Work Chris!

  • he didn't call him a pussy foot. It's the term pussy footing around , like trying not to bother anyone.

  • You tell em Chris Matthews !!

  • Obama . . . . .Just do you.

Never mind tha haters. . . . . .Tha millions american's that Voted 4 you trust you. And thats all you need. Just dont blow it. 4yrs will come around B4 you no it. DO YOU ,make us proud.

  • I think one of the reasons Obama won was because he actually went out there and said he was going to change things, instead of the overly-cautious, don't-offend-anyone platform the Democrats usually run on. Hopefully this attitude will be reflected during his presidency.

  • I think Obama is the first Dem to come around for some time with some balls. He is going to be a kick ass president and restore America's place of power on this planet. No amount of Right wing whining and crying will stop that. I am thrilled because this is what our country needs. I want to see America as a powerful leading nation because we are based on the greatest principles that a country as ever founded on.

  • Obama's "conservatism" involves fiscal conservatism, a concept lost on the fiscal libertarians in Republican clothing. Obama's platform doesn't even necessarily reflect the DNC platform. He's a true progressive where it counts and a conservative where it counts -- smart politics rather than blind allegiance. As an independent, I like it.

  • actually, Obama is using old school Democratic principles. He's basically Bill Clinton 2.0 dipped in chocolate. When you think about it....what's the difference between Bill Clinton v Hillary Clinton v Obama politically? there really isn't one. Other than Obama chose to turn down public financing. Think about it...why would Obama get some of Clinton's old advisors like Rahm Emmanuel if he didn't subscribe to the Clinton doctrine. We've seen this movie before. It's called the 90s.

  • Wait....he's hired Rahm Emmanuel? I like Obama a lot better already.

  • Obama hired Emmanuel like 4 days ago or longer. It's a new day. You seem like an educated American citizen.

  • "Wait....he's hired Rahm Emmanuel? I like Obama a lot better already."

I couldn't like Obama any more than I already do but it was a good choice.

  • I liked Obama before, I was just skeptical of what his fiscal policy would be. Since he has a proponent of economic liberalism as one of his advisors I more appreciate what he brings to the table. I describe myself as a liberal libertarian in that I believe government should minimize regulations in the economy but still provide public goods and services like roads and libraries and support reasonable progressive income tax systems.

  • Most pro-Israel in the congress isn't exactly a good thing :z

  • I agree cookimonstizzle, Rahm's really pro-Israel stance is a little scary. But a majority of the people in Congress have a "scary" stance on many issues. I'm as scared of his pro-Israel stances as I am scared of Pelosi's super duper anti-gun stances or Obama voting in favor of the 2006 version of the Patriot Act. Rahm helped choreograph the famous handshake between Rabin and Arafat for christ sake. He may be pro Israel but it seems he's more pro peace.

  • How is he pro peace? lol

  • Pro peace? He voted for authorization against Iraq, and his father was a terrorist lol

  • I can't defend his dad being a terrorist but need I remind you that a majority of Congress voted for authorization against Iraq? It isn't really shocking if somebody supported authorization against Iraq (hell Bush had a 90% approval rating at the time). I read his profile earlier and it doesn't sound like he wants constant war between Israel and Palestine. He just thinks it's more the PLO's fault than Israels. So yes I think in that regard he is pro peace.

  • I don't agree with Rahm's position on the Palestine conflict, it's both sides fault. I'm not denying the fact that he volunteered in the Israeli Defense Force or that his dad was in an Israeli militia but I think Rahm has changed over the years. Like I said he planned the handshake between Rabin and Arafat, he wants peace between the Palestinians and Israelis. Just as long as nobody is yelling "die infidel die" at Israel I think we'll be alright.

  • I made a mistake, I meant to say Dianne Feinstein's super duper anti-gun stance. The only thing I found on Pelosi was her saying after Heller vs DC that Congress could find ways around the ruling. Feinstein however has said "If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them...Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in, I would have done it." If that isn't scary, I don't know what is.

  • i cnt tell if ur comment r in supp or oppose the fact tht obama is like clinton. but in my personal opinion i'd tke the 90's & the job clinton did in a heartbeat over the 00's & the job bush did. so if obama is the new clinton thn thts ok by me (much rather clinton 2.0 than bush 3.0-which is what mccain prbly wlda been)

  • I couldn't disagree more. Obama is completely unique. Clinton was pro-NAFTA whereas Obama isn't. Clinton bombed Serbia and harmed a lot of innocent people. On domestic policies, he did do a lot of good things to get the economy rolling. Obama I feel is far more of a realist and careful thinker when it comes to foreign policy.

  • lol , are you for real , he only said he was against Nafta to secure votes . Wait , when he realizes that he is not raising enough money to fund his master plan , he will bend to the will of the unions and corporations . despite what they tell you , the unions and corps have an intimate relationship , the worker is caught in the middle , think what you want , your savior is just an image conscious puppet . JV

  • Pure conjecture ... I don't see this based on evidence rather than suspicion and good old fashioned irrational fear. The fact is, Clinton was NAFTA's biggest cheerleader and Obama has been publicly against it. Like any politician, we'll all have to wait and see what happens, but it's far too early to say that he has a "master plan" counter to his public statements. Even if McCain were in office, I'd have to give him some benefit of a doubt that he'd stay on track with his campaign.

  • The Dems owe no GOP member any kind of an apology. They used the 'stolen' rope to hang themselves and as a back lash ended up dragging the whole country down with their GRAND OLD PARTY. They need to first- help fix this country then their splintered party. And stop trying to make excuses for how they got to this level of dysfunction. The power is in uniting not dividing. They never learn the lessons that is so obivious to everyone but them. WTF?

  • Dems apologize for everything.

  • Chris is right. I hope Obama will be able to do what he promises if not the democrats will not do well in 2012.

  • When Bush, after getting 46% of the vote, claimed that he has "a man date" many of the people I knew thought he'd gone totally GAY!

We couldn't imagine that he'd call the election that!

  • Barack Hussein Obama Plan (I say Hussein because WASP Americans like to teach people, unlike themselves, to hate themselves):

    1. Rollback the Bush tax cuts

    2. End the Iraq war... Wow! We have $25B more a month now!

    3. Rollback ALL G.W. Bush's executive orders

    4. Reduce Homeland Security by 75% (Small Gov't)

    5. Rollback the Bankruptcy Reform Act, which is the PRIMARY reason why you're unable to save your homes from foreclosure... you WAIVED your Homesteader's Rights

    More?

  • "Need 22" chrome spinning rims? How about some Yosemite Sam "Back Off" mud flaps for the F150? Or, how 'bout some hydraulics for that Civil Rights Act of '64 Impala?"

"Come on down to "Dub' Ya's - Rims and Bouncing Cars!" That's right! I used to be president of 'murca', and now I'm sellin' DUBS for that ass!"

Okay, now that I got that out of my system... President G. Walker Bush has made it easy for President-Elect B. Hussein Obama. Apropos, "when you're in a hole... STOP DIGGING."

  • good job matthews, it's been bugging me and a whole lot of other people how everybody has this double standard!

  • Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within. I use the word "love," here, not merely in a personal sense, but as a state of being or a state of grace. And not in the infantile American sense of "being made happy." But in the tough universal sense of quest and daring and growth. - J.A. Baldwin

    LOVE won this election.

As a 3x combat veteran, I used to say, prior to Nov. 4, that "I love my country, but I hate the people." Not anymore. Thanks.

  • definite limits to the mandate. Obama has a mandate to break from the past eight years which will allow him to accomplish goals like ending the war in Iraq, nationalizing health care, and investing in alternative energy unless some international crisis forces him to take action and drop some of his plans. This is a mandate for some of the goals of liberalism, but not far left liberalism like socialism. As long as he does not push Americans too far he'll be fine in achieving his goals.

  • I didn't see the rest of this, but this makes Matthews look like an ass if he just interrupts the guy. I think people misconstrue the comment about mandates. Ronald Reagan and Franklin Roosevelt had large mandates to do whatever the hell they wanted in the entirety of their terms because of their electoral sweeps. Bush would not have had the mandate to accomplish his goals until 9/11 when 90% of the nation approved of him. Each elected President has a mandate to do what they want but there are

  • I always liked Chris Matthews but during this Election my opinion of him has gone up. He seems to've expressed his alliegence which most network journalists try to avoid. Good on him.

And this vid is a great example of his keen bullshit detector.

  • It gives me tingly feelings up and down my legs, watching liberal morons on tv

  • Just make sure that tingly feeling isn't the corpse of Republican and conservative ideology dying on your leg :)

  • kudos!

  • Morons? What did he say that makes him a moron? You conservatives are irrrelevant in America now. Nobody gives a shit what you think.

  • "What did he say that makes him a moron? You conservatives are irrrelevant in America now. Nobody gives a shit what you think."

We never did and that is why they resort to SREALING elections. Cenk did not say anything Moronic.

  • Correction:

"We never did and that is why they resort to SREALING elections. Cenk did not say anything Moronic."

    Should be:

"We never did and that is why they resort to STEALING elections. Matthews did not say anything Moronic.

  • You do realize that "left wing" and "Fascist" are opposites of each other right?

Another child left behind by our education system.

  • I know, but they are becoming the fascist. Obama is more of a capitalist then you think. He works for the banks. That's why he has no intention of stopping these stupid bailouts.

  • Exactly, Obama is akin to the republican party circa 1950. The repubs have gone so far right they are dragging the dems with them and its killing the economy...

  • "And you think you tree hugging, drug using homos are gunna win? Get real.

After Obama bends you over, you left-wing fascist won't last long."

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER POST UNTIL YOU DIG YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS.

  • The problem is that American finally got a real hit of Republican policy like a heroin injection and they're waking up from the 8 year nightmare. Unfortunately, Democrats have to do the hard job of cleaning up the Republican mess.. AGAIN.. and probably won't get much credit for it because people too quickly forget who burned em in the first place just like they forgot the cause of the Great Depression and 80's recession. If only folks would learn a little economics, they'd understand better.

  • Republicans and the anti-Obama crowd have no shame or dignity. How sad.

  • I really don't think any Democrat could possibly get worse approval ratings than George Bush. What is that Republican idiot smoking??

  • What's the word I'm looking for here...oh yeah...OWNED

  • this is the new republican tagline since nov. 5th. "Dems better watch out or else america will hate them." its the republicans spin machine PRETENDING they still have some kind of power. That even though they were handed their asses, their will is still the true will of the people. Its narcissistic, and borderlines dementia. I hope obama goes in and like FDR, makes sweeping changes. Because this country wont survive more watered down compromise with assholes like that guy.

  • lol... these Republican leaders are not conservative....

  • Chris Matthews is hilarious!

  • Bush and the (supposed) liberal medial were chatting up (a lot!) the idea that Bush had won a mandate from the people in '04. I vividly remember hearing it over and over. It was one of the closest elections. Hardly a mandate. Now, Obama crushes McCain in electoral votes and a very good margin in popular votes and the RIGHT WING media often paints it as a squeaker. Now it's "we're a center-right country".

  • We might have been in the past but now the Senate, House and the President have been given a mandate to govern from the left. Or at least the center-left.

  • '04 and '08. Both times.

  • If Chris Matthews does run as a PA senator, I'm so voting for him. :)

  • pussyfoot

  • It is ridiculous not to see this as a realignment. The "Reagan Revolution" sleeps with the fishes. When Reagan first got elected there was still Democratic control of the House and yet that is still considered a significant realignment, so how is this not this time?

  • Chris is a legend

  • There must be a certain degree of empathy for a group of people who were born of privilege and into the ruling class now learning that so few people actually want to follow their failed ideas nor to die for them.

And isn't it typical how freely they give helpful advice to their opposition as to how to run the state?

  • hahaha dude got owned by Chris. i love Chris

  • this is what i hate about the media...you have to turn down the volume every single time

  • Gotta love Chris Matthews:-) it's a double standard with Republicans... Reagan created the earned income tax credit which lowered taxes for the middle class and raised taxes on the rich AFTER the recession. Obama wants to do almost the same and it's called Socialism... Conservatives if they do something it's okay but if a Liberal does it they're playing to the FAR left and they're un-American in their values. Republicans are cry babies. YOU LOST HAHAHAHA! now we can get change FOR ONCE!
