Even in the 1990s South, it was acceptable for black and white kids to date. Racial identity still existed, but it didn't seem all that important to most people. Rome was a very bureacratic society. Roman Catholicism inherited this bureacratic structure and so did all of Europe (and later America). Western civilization was built on burearcracy.

If you walk from north Europe down to the south. The hair of people slowly changes from blond, dark blond, brown to black and the skin from pale to less pale to light brown. There are reasons for that change but you can't say one is superior to another, just different allowing them different roles in order to survive. Even in the 1990s South, it was acceptable for black and white kids to date. Racial identity still existed, but it didn't seem all that important to most people. It's become even less important to the youth of today. Did you know right now in grade school whites are already the new minority?

It doesn't matter what people identify as. Some light-skinned black people have identified themselves as white. And if they had enough European genetics, they even looked and were accepted as white. Some white people with no African genetics have at times identified as black for reasons of marriage. Most Mexicans and Latin Americans have European genetics. Some light-skinned latinos think of themselves as white. Italians are a mix of European and Middle Eastern genetics.

I couldn't care less about race. I'm a mix of various European races and supposedly I have some Native American genetics. The Native Americans were known to intermarry with other races including African Americans. African Americans definitely have a lot of European genetics. The closest to a pure race in the US would be the Chinese.
Interracial dating/marriage has become common. Immigration has increased in the US around the world. The distinction b/t the races is going to become very fuzzy.

Rome was a very bureacratic society. Roman Catholicism inherited this bureacratic structure and so did all of Europe (and later America). Western civilization was built on burearcracy.
Of course, Rome and Christianity were both a mix of values, good and bad. The country we have now is a direct result of those values.
As for Christian values, they all came from paganism. Christianity didn't invent Hellenistic culture. Even the notion of natural law came before Christianity.

The most central or at least the earliest component of Western Civiliation was Hellenism. Hellenism was the mixing of White Greek culture and Black Egyptian cultre. Rome itself was a massive mixing pot of races and cultures. The earlist Christian converts came from many different races and cultures. Jesus and his followers were probably quite dark skinned. This only became like the "White" culture we now know when the Roman Empire helped convert most of Europe to Christianity.

If you walk from north Europe down to the south. The hair of people slowly changes from blond, dark blond, brown to black and the skin from pale to less pale to light brown. The same in Africa, in the north licht brown skin, straight or slightly curved hair. Than it changes village by village to more dark with more curly hair.
