  • Mi mom call me Isadora because of her, she is a legend

  • Wonderful vintage video. Does anyone know the year of it?

  • @PlayIt4MeAgainSam

It was on 20 June 1912

  • Happy Birthday Isadora!

  • There's something very child-like in her physical expression. It looks so free.

  • A girl at my dancing's nickname is Isadora Duncan, because she doesn't have the best technique but is amazingly artistic!

  • I wished the clip was long

  • I look forward to the release of dance film footage from Mata Hari. I believe that she, not Duncan, started what would become modern dance.

  • Can anyone provide details on this documentary? Title, release date, etc? Thank you

  • Isadora Duncan was the creator of Modern Dance. The last words are actually, ''Goodbye my friends, I am off to love!'' But others say it was, ''Goodbye my friends, I am off to glory!'' The way she died was tradgic, it was 1927 and she was 50 years old. She had a beautiful long scarf. But as the driver started driving her scarf got caught on the wheels and unfortunetly it broke her neck and she died. Thats how it happened but please look at what her last words were. it's not glory it's love! RIP!

  • umm im doinq a report on her... and she cant dance ! thats not dancinq she juss look like she qotta qo pee really bad ;

  • @Egyptaindude500 you'll probably never understand the beauty of it , its a selective crowd choice . if you really get it you can see the real art in it

  • @Egyptaindude500 Hopefully, you are NO longer a student of dance.

  • i'm italian, i'm cool

  • Happy 133th birthday Isadora!

  • hi, i'm a student in modern dance and our class is doing a project on famous modern dance pioneers. does anyone know any really famous dances by isadora duncan? thx

  • For as long as I can remember I have loved this woman's work. She was a pioneer in dance and perhaps the turmoil and sadness intensified her work. A life shortened by her free nature and zest of energy.

  • I just saw the other day a documentary about her life. A few years ago I saw the movie Isadora with Vanessa Redgrave. It was love at first sight. I wish I could have her freedom and her genious visionary mind and soul. She is one of my idols.

  • actually, her last words were "I hate this frickin scarf!".

  • actually, her last words were "I hate this frickin scarf!".

  • How could she have said last words when she died? She was totally strangled by her scarf poor darling. I'll go for the "off to love" story, why not believe such a passionately free spirit was off to see a lover?

  • That's not what she actually said. Thats what her friend had said her last words were to save face. She was actually going to get laid and her last words were "I am off to love". Her close friend Mary Desti admitted later that it would have been embarrassing for Isadora's reputation to have that as last words. It's all in the research

  • this Legend said when she died goodbye my friends I'm going for the glory

  • "Adieu, mes amis. Je vais a la gloire."

  • Thank you for this video! Inspirational at the very LEAST!! Her views on what dance should convey are amazing!!

  • She and MJ should have danced together.

  • @7beers I doubt it, cos MJ will make her look like a basic amateur pupil.

  • Hermosa, gracias por abrirnos el camino.

  • The mother of modern dance......amazing lady and well before her time.

  • I read not long ago there was no footage of her dancing. How neat to discover your clip!

  • Any clip of a dancer is bound to have a lot of "footage".

  • thank you.

  • to the best of my knowledge, that first clip is the only known footage of her.

  • Does anybody know where I can see more footage of Isadora Duncan?

  • I'm familiar with this documentary and glad that the tiny amount of historical footage of Duncan is now available for viewing on YouTube! But I disagree with the narrator's assertion that Duncan devised the first modern dance language. Her vocabulary was derivative of Delsarte poses and movements, and her genre was interpretive, not modern.

  • isador was beautiful!

    *****

  • isadora te quiero mucho.

  • She is a Goddess of Modern Dance.

Thank you so very much for posting this! I have read she may have worked with Nijinsky. Such legends.

  • Great dancer! Isadora Te amo.

  • interesting!!

  • And now I know where John Lennon got his line that appears in between tracks on 'let it be'... Isadora Duncan, works at Telefunken.

  • An amazing life, and a prfound influence on modern culture.

  • this helped me with my school project. thanks! :]

  • Viva la Duncan!

  • Isadora was wonderful and her dance... It's bewitching!

  • she is my hero!!

best modern dancer in this WORLD!

    i respect her!

  • I read her autobiography it was very inspirational- I love her!

  • She was way ahead of her time, I trully respect her

  • @MissJinx1

  • heyyyyy!i did a report on isadora duncan! she had a very tragic life! imean her scarf got caught in the wheels of a sports car!!!!!

  • Didn't that suck? And her children died by drowning.

  • :( So very sad the way her life played out.

I am so grateful there is film footage of her. There is apparently none of her contemporary in the ballet-the great Nijinsky. :(

  • @audie83 what's the name of the movie please

  • @audie83 There is now, here on youtube. Do a search and you will see!

  • isador was beautiful!
