"Les Rêves Dansants, Sur les pas de Pina Bausch" l'histoire d'une quarantaine de lycéens reprenant le célèbre spectacle KONTAKTHOF de Pina Bausch. cette pièce a retrouvé un nouveau souffle: celui d'une émotion exaltante, apportée par une troupe qui, bien qu'amateur, parvient à offrir bien plus qu'une simple chorégraphie. touscoprod. com
Isadora Duncan was the creator of Modern Dance. The last words are actually, ''Goodbye my friends, I am off to love!'' But others say it was, ''Goodbye my friends, I am off to glory!'' The way she died was tradgic, it was 1927 and she was 50 years old. She had a beautiful long scarf. But as the driver started driving her scarf got caught on the wheels and unfortunetly it broke her neck and she died. Thats how it happened but please look at what her last words were. it's not glory it's love! RIP!
@Egyptaindude500 you'll probably never understand the beauty of it , its a selective crowd choice . if you really get it you can see the real art in it
hi, i'm a student in modern dance and our class is doing a project on famous modern dance pioneers. does anyone know any really famous dances by isadora duncan? thx
For as long as I can remember I have loved this woman's work. She was a pioneer in dance and perhaps the turmoil and sadness intensified her work. A life shortened by her free nature and zest of energy.
I just saw the other day a documentary about her life. A few years ago I saw the movie Isadora with Vanessa Redgrave. It was love at first sight. I wish I could have her freedom and her genious visionary mind and soul. She is one of my idols.
How could she have said last words when she died? She was totally strangled by her scarf poor darling. I'll go for the "off to love" story, why not believe such a passionately free spirit was off to see a lover?
That's not what she actually said. Thats what her friend had said her last words were to save face. She was actually going to get laid and her last words were "I am off to love". Her close friend Mary Desti admitted later that it would have been embarrassing for Isadora's reputation to have that as last words. It's all in the research
isidora una bailarina espectacular *-* me alegra mucho el personificarla a ella en uno de mis trabajos de escula ^^ realmente bella *-* y buena bailarina
I'm familiar with this documentary and glad that the tiny amount of historical footage of Duncan is now available for viewing on YouTube! But I disagree with the narrator's assertion that Duncan devised the first modern dance language. Her vocabulary was derivative of Delsarte poses and movements, and her genre was interpretive, not modern.

There's something very child-like in her physical expression. It looks so free.

A girl at my dancing's nickname is Isadora Duncan, because she doesn't have the best technique but is amazingly artistic!

I look forward to the release of dance film footage from Mata Hari. I believe that she, not Duncan, started what would become modern dance.

:( So very sad the way her life played out.
I am so grateful there is film footage of her. There is apparently none of her contemporary in the ballet-the great Nijinsky. :(
