  • perfect....

  • Man Rudess can play the ivories! I was speechless at 4:55.

  • He's not good, he is not even close to be good. He is the master of all keyboard-related instruments. From jazz to prog rock and so on.

  • I don't know... I've never heard a pop song in 7/4 and 11/8 :P

  • well hey money by floyd was in 7/8... stranger songs have become hits!

  • i love the instrumental in the second half from 3:38. its SOOO much better than the studio version

  • the orchestra really helps with that instrumental section! :D

  • 0:23-0:40 <3

  • This song really sounds like "Solsbury Hill" from Peter Gabriel........

  • I agree haha. There are some big differences though, just the verse sounds uncannily close. The difference is I can't stop listening to this one... O_o

  • And there's Goodnight Kiss that sounds like The Wall by Kansas.

  • just ... fucking awesome!! labrie portnoy-miyung-petrucci-rudess lsin duda la mejor banda de rock de todos los putos tiempos!!!! arriba dream theater!!!

  • Score = greatest Musical DVD ever created. Dream Theaters live performances are of such high quality it really is amazing, it truly is hard to pick up mistakes

  • I love James Labrie

  • the whole finale from it's start to it's end is fantastic... such parts are the "dream" in dream theater, eh? :D

  • this is my happy music

    dream theater is absolutely AMAZING!

  • Beautiful song. Dream Theater is amazing

  • Incredible track from dt. At 4:13 I thought the orchestra was gonna do that bit by tapping)))))(?)

  • This Song sing Peter Gavriel with Solsbury Hill

  • Labrie sounds good in this performance

  • The best DVD of Dream Theater in my opinion, just amazing. And LaBrie kicks ass!

  • mike portinoy THE NUMBER 23 1:53

  • this is so great!

  • Very nice!

  • I love Dream Theater.

  • The best part about this band is the effort they put into their music. I love how LaBrie tries to tell you a story while he's singing. For example 1:00, and 1:12. Such a great band, and such an amazing song.

  • what i really like about the whole 6DOIT song is that although they speak about 6 very serious mental illnesses they do it with an optimistic way and they are not disrespectfull at all!!!!!! I get a happy and positive feeling every time i listen to this song!!!!!!

  • It's an inspirational sort of song, and it also seems to serve as an informative song as well.

  • GOOD BAND !! Chek OUT my cover of Erotomania and rate it Plz !!!

  • ni un brillo

  • the spirit carries on is a WAAAAAAAAAAY better ballad

  • They're about even in my eyes.

  • they are both good, but im gonna have to agree and say The Spirit Carries on is better.

  • both are beautyful

  • Amazing song! With the orchestra, this song is one of the best ''ballad'' of DT!

They are having a show every 2 days in this current tour. They were here, in Israel 2 days ago. Touring must be very hard. Petrucci looked like he is falling asleep :)

  • the show in israel was AMAZING!

  • Score is honestly one of Labries best performances Live, what does everyone else thing?

  • his best performance on a Dream Theater Dvd by a million miles. just unbelivable.

  • Most "Romantic" song ever made by them.... I'm gonna dance into this song with my wife on the wedding day :)

  • really? The music is indeed beautiful but the idea of the song is about a man with autism, not love between a man and woman.

  • whoa!!! petrucci used a double neck??? w0w

  • hahaha

when did patrucci change his guitar????

    amazing song _\m/

  • This is so my favourite pare of this song, it's amazing and the lyrics are stunning!

  • what an awful crowd....

  • Dude, It's hard to clap and jump up and down when your in slack-jawed awe! It's the most un-f*cking believable thing you will ever hear. Go to one of their shows LOL.. I just stood there! their live sound is better than their studio mastered CD's! My brain couldn't take it... I forgot to clap!

  • I understand you dude! Who goes to a concert to headbang and forget to listen to the music? You go to concerts to listen to the music, and watch the musicians.

  • Agree! Im seeing DT for the 1st time in September, going there to watch them, hear them and a meet and greet afterwards aswell. Not to get drunk and headbang to their heavy tracks! :D

  • OMG... Petrucci's jazzy solo @ 4:29! Beautiful..

  • so nice, this sound!! welcome to portugal, DT

  • You bet! But still, Labrie is very good! PoS and DT together, that would be a fantastic show!

  • I can´t understand why people say LaBrie is a bad singer O.o just listen!

  • it's because he's not as good now as he used to be...in other words he sang much better live then than he does now.

  • LaBrie has had his on and off days. On his good days, he's awesome, like in this performance, but in his bad days, you can understand why some people doubt his abilities.

Personally, I think he is still a fantastic singer with a beautiful voice. Also, his recent performances seem very promising. I am looking forward very much to the Black Clouds & Silver Linings tour!

  • I agree. And DT kick ass...

  • I love this song!

  • T_T

  • omg John petrucci playin a double neck??? 1st time see that

  • hay tantas palabras para describir a este grupo que no sé cual decir...se me ocurre ahora. "espectaculares"!!!!

  • Amazing!!!

  • This song is the soundtrack to my life, no joke

  • T_T

  • I'll don't know that Petrucci was sing.....:P

  • I've got an awesome ringtone of this song where people are singing the first 20 measures or so. I think the group is called the Rusty Pipes. Good stuff!

  • Check out me playing this song on a guitar!

  • great performance...

  • Ahh.....Dream Theater. Where people can see dreams come true.

  • Six degrees is such an awesome album. Each song is a masterpiece

  • Then you clearly have no clue about anything.

  • beautiful!!!

    <33

    =D

  • WTF, Petrucci with a double-neck! And one of them is a 12-string!

  • What's wrong with that :P

  • Does it look like I said it as if it was a bad thing? It's fucking awesome! It's just I had never seen Petrucci with a double-neck before.

  • usually one of the necks on a double-neck guitar is 12-string ;D

  • petrucci uses 12strings quite often actually

  • Sounds like a soundtrack from some classic Disneymovie, wich is veeery good :D

  • lmfao

    so true xD

  • I. Want. That Guitar. love this song

  • which one lol. i'd take either of them

  • exactly lol.

  • great...great music and lyrics talking about something really touching and real, not just about how big some girls´ass is...this is music!

  • Couldnt agree more.

  • hahaha so funny because it's true, dream theater doesn't waste their time writing on stuff like that

  • undescribable

  • All hail Octavarium Orchestra :D

  • That was amazing. I don't know why, but I get shivers up my spine listening to this :)

  • Yeah, the keyboard part does it for me! My favorite of Jordan's stuff!

  • I almost cried.....my brother has autism, and I'm so thankful that it's not an extreme form. This song means so much....thank you, Dream Theater.

  • man, that's touching.. : )

  • That 12-string guitar would have been hard to restring... o.o

  • Good song! I almost take it as a tribute to Peter Gabriel.... very reminiscent of Solsbury Hill

  • Yeah, the Peter Gabriel influence is intentional.

  • What a powerful song. I love it!

  • i love this song because it can amplify whatever mood you're in. when i'm sad, it makes me more sad, and when i'm happy it makes me more happy. such a juxtaposition between the chord progression and lyrics.

  • One of the most harmonic DT somgs..simply amazing!

  • i cant get rid of my goose bumps O.O

  • this is the first song that has made me cry...ever

  • Goodnight Kiss made me cry. then this song came right after and I just wanted to cry again.

  • The Lyrics say my life :P

  • it basically does

and dont think because you made =/= up your cool

  • Best song ever from DT!!!

I freaking love the rythme, it's soooo warm and cool at the same time, I've got chills when I listen to it.

  • FInally!!, I have the new album!! check profile on my blog to download

  • thats because the song IS about a retarded boy

  • autistic =/= retarded

  • One of my top 6 fave DT tunes. The harmony, melody, lyrics... never gets old. My son has Autisim, we spend $800/month for his therapy.. this tune reminds me of him on so many ways.

  • that's so touching man. i wish you and your son the best of luck.

  • this song was dedicated to john myung I'm totally lying

  • LMAO.

  • LOL

  • A melhor banda do mundo na minha opinião!!!

  • jordan rudess is one insane keyboardist...

  • muito phodaa!!

  • solsbury hill?

  • Petrucci says this song is paying an homage to that song.

  • So many people seek GOD during their lives.

They just need to go to a DT concert.

GOD is at the keyboards there...

  • Well in my opinion god has a beard, so it's Petrucci:)

  • oh, god. their all GOD in ONE

  • Portnoy and Rudess have one as well xD!

  • one of the best petrucci solos

  • The keyboard parts are so cheesy, but so good and SOO catchy.

  • Yea... it reminds me of dolphins and aquariums for some reason. Not sure why. xD

  • lol. its funny how sometimes you can associate images through music. But damn it, as i write this all im thinking about is dolphins and aquariums...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-

    XD

  • It reminds me of the Rainbow Road map on Mario Kart 64... At least the beginning does.

  • Nah makes me remind me of me :)

  • im totally with you on that one

  • Yeah dude!!!!! the first part kinda seemed safari-ish to me!! it's awesome! lol

  • this is the best movement of of SDOIT it always gives me goose bumps

  • Haha yeah. They are all amazing though

Solitary Shell and The test that stumped them all.... And about to crash a= my favourite

  • love this vid, song, and band this had to be one of their best gigs and becuz they enjoy their own music makes it better cuz its more energetic even for such a soft song as this

  • DT spend a year and half finding someone with the vocal talents James has and here you are bashing his voice.. Shame on you

  • Let see the haaaaaandssssss. love James...

  • got the score cd, love dream theater but you can tell that the long performance was hard for his voice. such a shame about the food poisoning

  • best movement by far the melodies r so good they make u want to cry

  • genialne

od dwóch dni słucham tego na okrągło i nie mogę przestać

  • Comment removed

  • Penso che sia la miglior performance live dei DT

  • what is James saying at the very first?

  • he says: "let see the heaaaaaaands"

  • Score is their greatest live performance, bar none.

  • thx for the vids people ;]

  • really awesome

  • The synth parts reminds me of Premiata Forneria Marconi ;)

  • You now P.F.M.?

  • Certo.. of course... I'm Italian, dude :)

  • Sono di Pescara

  • P.F.M. is well known, I believe. I'm from Brasil and I know it. :)

  • American, never heard of 'em, lookin' 'em up once this song's over.

  • LaBrie is truly the best vocalist to ever exist in rock thus far. Im truly not lying the guy has the best range ever and his voice is just so developed and perfect for this band. LONG LIVE DREAM THEATER

  • You're so right! Love JB, Love DT!!!

  • wuch a good song! and the guitar chords are so beautiful!

  • /salute

  • RESPECT for Dream Theater ! great band!!

  • awesome!

  • this is whats just so great about DT that no other band can come close to...they don't limit themselves to one sound, and they musically try to do as much as they can. listen to this section of a 42 minute epic, then turn on something like as i am or dark eternal night. its just amazing how many styles they can include in their music.

  • Wow - they're realy going for it aren't they? So much energy, so many notes, so good!

  • I hope that people who watch this DT song look for who inspired it and get turned onto some great Peter Gabriel.

  • you really shouldn't mention Dream Theater and Metallica in the same sentence. They are both great bands in their _own_ genres. And yes, Metallica wasn't the first one to do the orchestra thing..

  • Metallica are great?

    Could've fooled me

I'd say they were pioneers, just not good ones

  • damn right dude.. Amen.
