Wasn't this the dogfight that was on History Channel's Dogfights? I remember seeing an episode where they talked about the first dogfighters and I think this was the first one they talked about in that episode.
Isnt that a coincidence?the americans only talk about the deaths of german aces who scored over 80 victories,if its about an american who had 6 victories during all the war they only talk about his kills for hours,(maybe they dont talk about their deaths cause most of them died crushed by a truck while they were drunk after the war)
When I press the stick, it's like I'm exiting the plane, and the other way: it's like I'm pressed hard in my seat. The whole cockpit is going up and down in front of my eyes when pitching. I want a fixed view, because I buckle myself up tight.. :-) This isn't in real life (I fly Tiger Moth). Is there a way to turn that off in the menu? Thank you for your reply!
Im going to say something that no one will beleave. but at least i know its true 8). anyway Werner Voss is my great great grandfather. thought id share that with all of you.
On a scale of one to s number less then eleven, then i' d have a scientist invent a number between 10 and 11 then but the biggest number of many and multiply it by ten
Was you planning on making some more videos sirgisbod? Yours are the best that I've seen. I wished you'd do one of William Barker's famous battle, of course the Snipe is not yet out but the Camel is still the closest to looking like it..
Wow, i typed in my last name on Youtube and my great grandfather comes up. my name is Skyler Voss son of David Voss son of John Voss'' real first name changed due to world war 2'' son of Werner Voss and lastly son of Werner Voss. Thank god he had sex before he died. wow really sad thing is every one of my family members as far as i can see back has went to war.
Voss has always been a hero of mine; great skill, great courage. But that said, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out how that particular fight was going to end. If Voss had the option to run he should have taken it. However, despite what is said in the video, I very much doubt that Voss had any option other than to fight. He wasn't a fool, he would have known it was only a matter of time before one or other of the SE's got him. He wasn't suicidal, just fighting for his life.
The thing anyone who watches this video needs to keep in mind is that Voss forced down two SE5s and damaged ALL the others. Do you realize what that means? This could have gone the other way. What if he'd hit someone's fuel tank? Or engine? Or pilot? It's just blind luck that he didn't. 56 Squadron was amazing, but I think they should consider themselves lucky Voss didn't kill them all because he very well could have. Best pilot EVER.
OK...someone PLEASE help! I have been waiting for a wonderful WWI sim to come out for eons now - now I hear RoF is beautiful in many ways...but then various critic sites claim the game-play and story is very hollow in comparision to good ol RB3 which had a really nice full-war immersion complete with Aces, full compliment of flyable planes & an accurate progress through the time period & career mode. What IS the BEST in these regards today??? What about Over Flanders Fields? Input I beg!! =)
@Falcon988 ....I've actually tried to get it...install it & all that - in the end it always ends up "missing" some file or another - perhaps due to my using a bootlegged copy of MScfsim(?) seems like it shouldn't matter, but it's been a bit frustrating & time consuming =( ...it's a rather difficult thing finding a copy of MSCFS...& so easy to bootleg it so.....
@DrSebby Do you live outside the U.S.? CFS3's available used for 1 cent on Amazon. Anyway, if you have a complete ISO of CFS3 it shouldn't matter. I transferred my CFS3 disc to ISO format and run things fine off that. Have you followed the installation procedures? Updated CFS3 to 3.1a? Downloaded the BH&H Superpatch & Minipatch? There's a 300char limit here on youtube, recommend you come to the Flanders Fields general discussion forum, I'm a reg there and we'll help you.
@Falcon988 ...well, the patch for CFS3 3.1a is not readily available at the MS site linked on your website. is there another avenue? let me know, thanks =)
@Falcon988 ...sorry to bug ya', found the 3.1 patch and the 3.1a patch...

Although Voss is my favorite simply due to his flare & courage...after doing a fair amount of research, Earnst Udet stands out in three VERY significant ways - 1. of course being that he actually survived the entire war from beginning to end, 2. that he had what, the 4th highest kill total of the war(?) but most spectacularly, 3. The VAST majority of his kills were enemy fighters...NOT bombers, like ALL of the other leading aces. Interesting, eh? BEAUTIFUL video btw!!!!!!! Thankyou

I certainly can't get it to do a flat spin turn.. I doubt that it could be done as reported anyway - just the physics of the the outboard wing having a much greater airflow than the inboard one.. it's inevitable that the slow wing will drop.. Unless it was a flat stall turn but that would lead to a spin and wing drop anyway..
