You stated that the officer "gave you permission to keep preaching", is it a right or a privilege where you live? Also why did he bother to take your ID information? Did he request the ID of the people who were also speaking loudly?
I know its no big deal to stop and speak with police, but why request your ID, unless there was a complaint, but then the cop should have known the law and told the complainers that its your right to do so and he should have not bothered you.

Secondly.. the police were enquiring if Josh was getting any grief from the crowd, thirdly, they let him continue..... and how does showing them case law give any grounds to whether they commit an offence or not?? Carry a copy of neaves v ryan and williams v pinnuck and show it to the police. Get it on video that you have shown them supreme court precedences on what disturbing the peace, disorderly behaviour and breach of the peace is. Then warn them they are commiting an offence by disturbing a religious service and anything they say or do may be held against them in a court of law
