And to think that the producers has to fight to keep this song in the movie!!!!!! Originally, This song - and Dorothy singing it - was taken out of the movie due to time constraints!!!! Victor Fleming (director - who also directed GONE WITH THE WIND in 1939 Not a bad year for Vic!!) DEMANDED that the song stay in the movie - so they took the scarecrow's 3 minutes dance out!!!!!!!
