Late reply I know, but yeah - for speed solving they are.

The v-cube is actually very sturdy and heavy, the plastic is nice. However, it's very clicky and the core mechanism can lock up, so for slow solving it can be ok, but fast solving.... I've almost had mine explode like this. That little center piece that came out is a warning that you are heading for it - if I see it do that, I slow down. -.-

I got my whole cube to fall apart just misalign the middle layers then get it to pop and everything falls apart. This happened to me within 10 minutes of receiving the package with my 6x6 I then got to spend the hour putting it back together before I got to solve it.

Wow! That was the biggest v-6 explosion I have seen yet.

Mine falls apart quite a lot now because it has gotten very loose with time, but never to that extent, just about a quarter of it falling apart due to the biggest hidden-layer piece unhooking itself like a 3x3's edge piece.

Good video! But, I sympathise having to put it together, it's pretty annoying.
