@khulitzki Ang brazil ay may GDP na $2.013 trillion, while PI has only $328.69 billion.Brazil is the 3rd largest commercial aircraft producer.Ang squater nila ay slum area w/c means poorly planned dwellings but still w/ running water & electricity as opposed to the philippines squatter areas na minsan ay may mga open canal pa.Google earth it.Marami na silang napalanulan na Olympic medals in the past at saka ang existing sports facilities nila ay higit na mas madami at malalaki.
this is a chance we should take more investors to come tickets for the game venue sales from markets transportation hotel reservations and all their expenses inside the country will help the economy even south korea was just an NIC when they hosted like us NIC palang tayo ngayon pa nga lang pwede na tayo mag-host linisin lang ang buong metro manila!?
That would be enough to show that we can. Tsaka the government should give needed support and allocate reasonable budget for sports sector. Filipino athletes can do well only if fully-supported by the government.
info: think sa cheap ng maga pinapadala na athletes sa mga olympic hnd naman yata kaya makakuha ng gold....look? greece is the hometown of olympics they get only 14 golds 12 silver 14 bronze.... out of 427 athletes? philippines: 3 times second placer sa asian games 1st time cahampion sea games 9 time 3rd placer sa sea games maybe next gmes we already champion ....except pa sa mga championships tournament na yan.....

Singapore is a different thing, since the one that they will be hosting in 2010 is ONLY the Youth Olympic Games, where only a third of the total number of athletes who competed in previous Summer Olympics will participate.
Kaya siyempre, malaki talaga ang tendency for the IOC to vote for rich countries dahil financial survival na ng IOC at ng mga official sponsors ang pinag-uusapan dito. (Unless talaga by some magic of some sort, bigla tayong naging 1st world country after twenty years, which PGMA projects.)
And why am I emphasizing the poverty/poor country issue here? It is because only rich countries are the ones which are given the nod to host the Olympics. (Look at the history of the Olympics for proof.) Ipapaalala ko lang, the Olympic is a big worldwide commercial extravaganza. Maraming sponsors ang bawat Olympics, hoping that they would be able to gain huge profits in part of every cent that they put into the games.

the Philippine Government is already planing to construct a new stadium in the city of Pasay, south of Metro Manila. For the 2024 Summer Olympics, the government proposed to build large, spacious and better stadiums and other sport centers for the games and will be equipped with High- Technology Facilities to ensure fair and honest games. They will also build a comfortable and spacious Olympic Village for the athletes and a high- class hotel for the Olympic Family
this plan sounds perfectly great..but i think philippines must focus first on its major problem which is poverty.
i guess everybody should agree that phil should give decent living for every filipinos and food on their table before constructing any high tech facilities.
as of involving into the olympics..we better just join. train athletes well with world class coach. not as expensive as building high tech facilities.
I'm not very optimistic about this considering they can't even handle proper funding for local sporting events let alone something as big as the Olympics. And is there even any room in the city?
SM Holdings, Ayala Corporation and some of the foreign architects can take care of the state-of-the-art stadiums and more sponsors may be drawn for more incentives ONLY if Manila wins this bid. Plus it can have one or more co host cities, like Clark and Cebu.
And our Manila bid can encourage us to vote wisely and vigilantly this coming 2010 elections and beyond (I know much about graft and corruption in our country).
Plus, we are no longer a Third World country and 16 years is a long way to go (better yet, we can support for the 2028 or 2032 Olympiad) to have our country become fully stable.
you are right... philippines can host the Olympics cus 2024 is a long year of waiting and by that time we are already stable. And if Manila can built one of the biggest mall in the world then there is no reason for them to build a stadium for the olympics and if any people asked where they would build the stadium let me tell you this they are already started to try and find a good place to build the stadium in Manila.
and also if there are important events in manila everyone in the philippines will work together and make that event memorable. Because if they saw the philippines a great place to be it would definitely benifite the philippines in the future... That why they want to host the olympic to be able to recognize by other countries... and see how the philippines had grown alot.. Even now i know that they are alot of problem in the philippines but how come we can still host some sporting event there...
if our officials are serious and manila wins the olympic bid for me manila its not feasible due of its overpopulated and crowded its better to dubbed the philippine olympic games with some different key cities and province to host.
Pwede rin mag co-host ang mga lungsod other than Manila, Like Clark and Negros. Tignan mo yung Beijing Olympics. It has co-hosts Tianjin, Hong Kong, and Guandong (You can reuest corrections if ever). Plus, if we won that bid there will be an incentive to clean up the city, reduce pollution, and provide housing projects for the urban poor.
Pwede rin mag co-host yung other cities. Like for example, Beijing Olympiad has events to be held in other cities. Let's say, Guandong, Tianjin, Hong Kong(request correction if needed), and others.
I hope Philippines will host the 2024 summer olympics... .Cguro naman makakabangon na ang Pilipinas sa mga panahon na yan and this the the best fresh start for us FILIPINOS.don't discourage it...Theres no impossible 'bout this,..lets hold hands together..support Philippines,! kaya natin to! :D
hahahah!!!!!!!!!!! good question!!!!!!!!!!! naku.. ill be proud to my own country if that happened. na makagawa ng as big as the bird's nest ng china ang pilipinas! tsk tsk!
We can host the OLYMPIC if our government will change! Im sure, it will be the BEST OLYMPIC ceremonies in the hstory! Filipino's are well-known for a very creative ideas!
Are you an idiot? The IOC will say nothing but a polite 'no' only if the National Government officials AREN'T SHOWING SERIOUSNESS of planning and making a structure for the Games. You sir, need to do more research.
Pwede rin mag co-host yung other cities. Like for example, Beijing Olympiad has events to be held in other cities. Let's say, Guandong, Tianjin, Hong Kong(request correction if needed), and others.

And for one thing not only the National Gov't. is trying to do for the 2024 Olympiad but also for 2018 Asiad.

One more thing: We are already an NIC (Newly Industrialized Country). Even the NIC Mexico had an Olympic Games in 1968.
