I've been a Hurricanes fan since 1997, so I think I know what I'm talking about. Cole is not that good of a fighter. That doesn't mean I don't like him as a player, in fact he's one of my favorites.

"fight straps" are actually called tie downs...

and they are there for the benefit of the guy you are fighting, not for you.

Tie downs prevent someone from removing their jersey, leaving someone else with nothing to hold onto.

That's why if your jersey comes off, you get a one game suspension

Actually, why don't YOU go watch the replay. Orpik had PLENTY of time to ease up, but no, he decided to drive Erik into the boards headfirst and almost ended his career. Kids are taught not to hit when they see the number on the back of the sweater. How Orpik seemed to forget that, I'll never understand.
