  • i had one of these in 1994, but someone wanted it more than me and stole it!! hence i am looking for another one

  • @sonicgsxr750 and now i have got another one, nice to have rare stuff, mine is hooked on a silver eagle

  • Very nice video! I purchased one of these brand new in the 1980's and I still not only have the original box for it but I still have the original shipping box the whole thing came in to me with and to this day, the radio still looks brand new with no scratches! This is a "smokin" ole radio! 10 or 12 years ago, I put it up and now I only use it as a backup now but as Charles Heston said in the movie Planet of the apes, The only way you will get this radio is from my cold dead hands!... Ha!!!

  • ive got 2 of them, both 20 watt version with green led's in excellent condition. i'll swap one for a ham jumbo mark 3 in perfect condition.

  • that sounds lovely on ssb :))

  • @M1ZXG Yes it's a nice old rig, must get it out the box and fire it up again one of these days.

  • thanks for the quick reply weazle66.....much appreciated....hope to catch you latter...

    thanks agian...

  • These were and still are fantastic 10mt rigs. They are very well constructed. I sold the radio years ago.. I have kicked myself many times for doing so.. I had the 100w Model with a Green LED display which was not common for a Ar3500. It also had a 4pin Mic jack. Battery Mod, and a Very low Pitched Roger Beep.. (Bloop), to say the least it was the best 10mt rig that I ever owned. I sold it to buy a mobile amplifier 350w that i used with another rig.. Chip Switch Hr2510.. long time ago... (-:

  • hi there

can you please tell me what fuse this takes (the one to the power supply on the red cable)....

i have the same one AR 3500...and fancy setting up agian....thanks in advance....

  • @mickytwoknives The fuse in mine is 6 amps.

  • I have one of these that I got new prob'ly in the mid to late 80's. It still works. Does not look that good and the AM receive does not sound right. Other than that, not too bad for an old, much used thing. I still kinda like it.

  • A mate of mine had one of these really nice

  • I have an AR-3500 (4-pin mic). It has green led lights in the display. Not red ones. This radio has the black face. ..I used to have an AR-3300, that had the green lights with the silver face. This 3500 is rock steady on 10 meters. I get good audio reports using a stock pro-trucker coffin mic. I've had hundreds of radios in the last several decades, & this is one of the best!

  • sweet radio looks like old model of a 2950

  • @fredneck4x4 This isn't the "Ranger" that you think it is, developed by Sam Lewis (now of Magnum International/RF Limited) fame. Made by Clear Channel Corperation in Japan. These need remaking for sure......a "Classic"

  • Wow! Looks really great! Super condition. If u want to sell it, let me know :-)

    73s, Ralf

  • Nice rig. Hard to believe things have developed so little in 25 years. That has more features than some of the modern radios!
