  • Bob is the BEST and brings our memories to life in music and for THAT i thank him :-)I last seen him in concert in 1978 when i was home on army leave from Germany...My brother bought me the tickets because he was on leave earlier than me....I was home for a week at the time for the concert and HE had to leave to go back to fort hood Texas immediately right after the concert that night to make it back in time to not be AWOL...I still had 3 more weeks left till my plane was to leave,We had a blast

  • @dkshotwell

WHAT A COMMENT!!! I'M VERY CLOSE TO YOUR AGE,AND I AGREE THAT THE WORLD WE LIVE IN TODAY IS FAR FAR DIFFERENT (WORSE) THAN THE WORLD THAT WE GREW UP IN...I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR THE "KIDS" OF TODAY!! I MEAN WE HAD BOB, THE EAGLES,ZEPPELIN...AND WHAT DO THEY HAVE?? BRITTNEY SPEARS,KATY PERRY OR WHATEVER HER NAME IS...BUT I GUESS EVERY GENERATION SAYS THE SAME THING...BEST OF LUCK &KEEP ON ROCKIN!!

  • ...because caps lock is cool...

  • @I000II0I0I not so much that the caps lock is so cool i just have a hard time readin the text. i am on "fixed" income and cannot afford new prescription eyeglasses...not that any of this is anyone elses business, just sayin.

the last pair of glasses i bought were almost $700.00 w/insurance. but thx for tha coment. seems that typing w/all caps really bothers a lot of ppl. i have no idea why,ppl-go figure...anyhow-best of luck!!

  • @jiwbink yeah now they have diddy..fidy cent..lol..and eminem..make no wonder the kids are lost today..no real music anymore..

  • @dkshotwell Today's music ain't got that same soul. We like that old time rock and roll!

  • @dkshotwell Me too!!!

  • @dkshotwell yeah.. ok .. i would feel you but .. no 50 year old dude uses youtube

  • @dkshotwell You and me both!

  • Every time I see one of these videos theres a kid going "Ya im 12 and i listen to this my generation sucks" No one cares how old you are it's not a big deal and it's nothing to brag about so stfu.

  • I don't know about now but in 1979 or 1980 he toured in Europe....Frankfurt, Germany........

  • hahaha that guitar is sitting right next to me

  • @samanthaseger haha - you watch your dad's bootlegged videos!?!

  • I will be 56 on April 11. I cut my hair for the St.Baldricks foundation in March of 2008. i am now going to do it once more when i turn 65. would like to see Bob live once again.

  • @TheSupereagle15 Will turn 49 on july 4th. I've never seen Seger live caus he doesn't tour europe but i've been listening to his music since 1981 when I was visiting friends in Santa Barbara and they payed Nine tonite to me. He's always been one of the finest performer and singer. His songs lasts and will last because talent and beauty never end in music.

  • 5 people are deaf

  • good music crosses all human boundaries and mental limitations we impose. Truly great music can be enjoyed by anyone of any age anywhere anytime. Song like this

  • Gdam wait till he discovers Skynrd!!!!!Lol,just kidn, keep rockin"!!!

  • Bob = Rock n' Roll!

  • Wish I had some plutonium and 1.21 Gigawatts to make my time machine take me back...

  • @jimmyroche take me with you brother

  • Unreal. Just a great voice.... one of the best ever rock voices IMO.

This song really shows off his vocals and connection with the audience.

  • "I woke last night to the sound of thunder" Bob always brings the thunder! I love Bob Seger, he is the greatest

  • Bob must've kept telling the soundman "turn me up, turn me up"

  • Good for you! Todays rock and pop doesn't compare to this! Yeah this guy was a part of the soundtrack of my life, His music still stands with a few from this era, It just never gets old! Travis Tritt does a great rendition of this in his live shows.

  • Bob Seger is one of the greatest kinds of musicians. Today they call them "Story Tellers" but back in the day, they were just people who related to us with music that that told their stories as well as our own. The days of Bob Seger, Jackson Browne, The Eagles and so many more have been replaced with kids who make little girls scream because their hair is cute or they wear the top notch clothes. Give me the days of real music from real musicians.

  • he's one of those guys that sounds better live! love it!

  • they really to to put together and digitally master a concert dvd of bob seger back in the day .....the Maryland footage seems to be a great place to start ......man I wish !

  • I was a back up singer for Bob...Great days love watching the old vids.. Thanks

  • @granmapen, Bob has an awesome voice, but the back up singers really made the songs more beautiful! Beautiful and timeless music! I'm sure you're really proud to have been a part of it.

  • Man, I remember when this came out. I had it on 8 track.

  • Bob was and is still one of my fav's..i saw him on his 36th b day in vancouver b.c ...you rock buddy

  • that's an ovation guitar,,the sound quality sux

    explain that

  • Is there any way you can post- Travlelin'Man/Beautiful Losrer from this show. Thanks

  • That voice! have loved this song forever. wish he would tour the U.K.

  • Bob Seger is the best, he is the offical Rock & Roll Folk Singer, always a story and a message in his songs. He and the band always pours all their heart and soul into every song, a pure genius knowing what words when & where to put in it and how to change the tempo fast, slow, stop all music and just pause and say the words for the feeling to come through. A Very Underrated Singer & Composer, is it any wonder what so many other music artists, from rock, country, heavy metal etc cover his songs?

  • classics like this have soul. todays crap don''t.

  • 0:00 - 5:54 = epic.

  • Comment removed

  • badass

  • ya man dont give in to all your friends listening to that shit called rap, im 18 all i listen to is the classics, the REAL music, keep showing people what music sounded like when it had heart and soul involved, not all this new fake bullshit thats all about the fame and fortune, keep rockin bobby

  • VHS....almost as authentic as the 8-track it was played on

  • this man will never go out of style he is a true artist no one can ever come close to the passion he puts in his music. i would love to see him just once he can always come back no matter what type of music is in this never goes out i would have loved to practice some moves with him myself still would

  • Starting humming a song from 1972....I feel like a teenager everytime I listen to this song.

  • Some of my favorite 1970's tunes were written by Bob Seger...

  • WOW!!!

In the midst of the everything else, along comes BIG BOB to set the record straight and show the kids how it's done.

    I love this video.

I wish I was still there.

    Thanks, Tangent5000

  • cool shit! beats that american idol crap on the radio today.bring on justin bieber, yeah right!

  • @pani40 F.Y.I. Bieber isn't a creation of American Idol but from YouTube LOL!!!!!!!!!!!. If you want to see what American Idol can create from a 4th place finisher check out my channel.......please.

  • love this song...its just all to familiar of a couple i know.....US. OLIVE JUICE

  • i have a renewed appreciation for Bob Seger

  • Midnight black Texas Iron Horse headed West on I-40 at midnight runni'n like the wind, Ya'll come on.

  • He opened for BTO back in '74 or '75 in Montreal,he had the crowd going better than BTO.Had the Night Moves eight track.I guess I'm getting old LOL

  • thanks for sharing, this is great!! *****

  • one of my all-time Favorites =)

    <3

  • Yeah great vintage stuff, thanks for sharing !

  • I can't hear this song without thinking of the summer of 1978 in northern Indiana with the girl I loved the most, just didn't know it then.

  • When I was in high school and full of the "awkward teenage blues", it was like a knife in my heart.

  • This beautiful song still makes me a little sad.

  • I mean, General Motors, the most successful and reknown car makers at the time used his song for about 5 yrs 'like a rock' to advertise. Nobody used "that smell' to sell anything. Bob over Skynyrd

  • LOVE YOU BOB!

We can love the UK bands like Floyd and Zeppelin, but Seger and Skynyrd are AMERICAN rock and roll personified!!

  • thank you , one of my favorite songs of all time!

  • 1st rock and roll concert I ever went to back in 1987. The Fabulous Thunderbirds opened for them. one of the 2 best rock concerts I ever saw

  • This Rocks....

  • Awesome vintage performance. Thanks for posting it!!

  • saw him in the 80's absolutely brilliant

  • i love classic rock. and this is classic

  • ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I EVER SEEN

  • maybe the best pure rock voice of the 70s

  • You're right!

  • BOB'S THE GREATEST!!!!!!1

  • uma verdaeira viagem, simplimente linda uma viajem....

  • does anyone know where these vids came from and are they available on DVD?..or is all bootleg stuff?

  • Cabaret43; So far, these Seger DVD's, from Largo, MD, 1980, are bootlegs. Maybe, before he checks out for good, he'll authorize a legitimate commercial live release...!

  • Bob Seger kicks ass !!! great !

  • hey, i hear people talking like " im 20, but still like this!!!"

im 11 and i only listen to roc and classic rock. Keep the spirit of rock alive!!!

  • You got good taste, kid! You cant go wrong with sounds like this.

  • You are never too young or too old for ass-kicking music that drive you wild. Keep on rocking kiddo!

  • yea, im 15 and listen to a ton of this kind of music, mostly bob

  • yup, and when you're 54 like me you'll be still listening to him! Quality, you'll find, never goes out of style.

Oh yea, I'll bet if you really tried, you could come up with a better handle. ;- )

  • @owlrun Yes, like mine.

  • @owlrun 51 here. seger rocks

  • @owlrun like my dad tells me, music is the universal language. You won't find one person who doesn't enjoy some type of music.

And to people who say music is dead I say this, music can never die.

    especially music like this ^^^

  • @owlrun

    trust me brother...I respect!

  • @FuckThatUpTheAnal- True that man. I'm only 20 and I listen to this kind of music all the time. I wasn't even alive when this song was out and still everytime I hear it, it brings me back to another place in time, drinking with friends and trying to get with a girl I knew was way out of my league haha.

  • @FuckThatUpTheAnal same here kid, don't you wish we were alive back then?

  • @FuckThatUpTheAnal dont be a douche dude i listened to more shit old when i was a kid than u im sure nothing to brag about ur just smarter than others ur age is all instead of bragging about how old u are and the music u listen to try to get these queers to quit listening to only rap and shitty rap at that

  • @av3nged112 How was I being a douche? Right, I forgot, listening to your dad's music makes you a douche. Silly me. No, really; how was I being a douche?

  • @FuckThatUpTheAnal Notice how the top comments are a 54 year old who is still listening to Bob Seger and finds it will never go out of style...Next to a 15 year old who listens to a ton of his music and channel name is "FuckThatUpTheAnal"...Just sayin...

  • wasnt his first band called Teagarden?..then it was the Bob Seger system(Smokin Opies)...and then of course the legendary Silver Bullet Band

  • Very interesting story pinwizz. I empathise with so many of the stories on this and other videos of Bob. Brings me back to the great days of the mid seventies when I was an innocent teenager but always loved this and a lot of the music of the times. What I wouldnt give to live a few months of those times again.

  • I,v seen Mr. Seger at least 40, 50 times. I,m from the outher side(north) of Flint,Mi as he is. I saw him fresh outta high school with his first band. any of you know its name, I do.He used to play a lotta small shows in Mi. and I went to a lot of em, . My favorite was one at a farm in Skidway Lake. He wore a red velvet suit with tophat and boots. He was only gonna play for 1 hour but went 3 1/2 hours and he ended with only his boots and pants on, he thru the rest ta the crowd.

  • i'm 20 yrs old and i love bob seger...i wish i was around when good music was around...you dont see many artist like these anymore

  • x2 man

  • i love this. i cant help turning up my speakers every time I hear a Seger song

  • My first concert BOB SEGER & GOLDEN EARRING - CLEVELAND. 1976 What a great night.. a lot of smoke in the air.

  • hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bob Seger is the bomb:) This song was alway's played @ the skating rink when I was a teenager. Oh the memories that take us back when we hear a song! Seger will alway's be my favorite! I drive my teenagers crazy listening to his songs. I'm 47 and the stuff they like is not music 2 me.I will 1 day get 2 see 1 of his concerts! I love u Bob:)

  • give ur teenagers some time...by the time they hit 20 or 22, they'll thank you for playin bob and you'll find him on their ipods.

  • hes on my ipod for sure!

  • My first concert ever was KISS and Bob Seger '75, I never heard of him before but you can bet I went out to buy his alive album the next day. Got to see him again in '80 with Huey Lewis and the News. This man is a pure bread Rock and Roll God. His concerts were Rock and Rock heaven. No fluff, just talent. I love Seger, one of my clear favorites.

  • He's amazing. So talented...his music really stands the test of time. He's very underated in my opinion.

  • .. YEAH!

  • I love Bob Seger. I haven't seen any of the typical stupid arguments in the comments section in any of his videos and I think thats a great testament too how strong and real his music is.

  • I have been looking for this for a couple of years! But I remember it in a cartoon of some kind. The character is walking and the pavement moves beneath his feet. He has boots on. Anyone know what I'm talking about??

  • The Movie is American Pop by Ralph Bashki same time as Heavy Metal both good rock and roll cartoon/movies

  • I remeber those movies like it was yesterday.

  • NOW THAT'S "REAL" BOB SEGER!

  • Bob Seger is a living legend. He should rerelease all of his old stuff with his old band the Bob Seger System. If only I couldve grown up in that time this generation of music fuckin sucks.

  • <3<3<3

  • Very blessed to have grown up with young parents who always kept good music around. My mom was obsessed with Bob Seger. We had every album in my house,I played them over and over on my little record player and danced. My senior year in HS my parents and my friends all took turns and camped out for 2 days for tickets. That was 1986.Still have the tshirt.I'm38 now and so glad I know the good stuff. Will never forget growing up on it and my whole fam. and friends going to Seger!Wow.

  • I saw him in 1977 or 78 been so long can't remember in cleveland great concert!

  • ..would 100%dadaDIE!,HA!..kinda cool this video like a portable Soldier's military Communication..but a song from 1962..that song would be?(and yea hey.AbsoluteImperial that Sound?Where IS a dream/was?)

  • despite the ovation, this song still sends chills down my back. I'm 21 and I feel like this generation is a waste. I wish I was born in the 50s. I keep my radio locked on the local classic rock station. I can't believe the garbage my generation is fixated on.

  • i'm 22 and i feel ya, i rock to all the classic rock stuff man, theres a few bands out there i dig, the white stripes (another detroit act), 311 and jack johnson and john mayer, but ya, the oldies are the best, rock on brother

  • I think If I saw him in concert, I would die,

Honestly just completely 100% fucking die.

  • it couled be better

  • twang twang thats an ovation guitar for ya hate those guitars great song man one forever thats for sure

  • OMG! BOB SEGER IS THE MAN

  • NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT, THE MAN INDEED! The only time I can say I am glad to be 42 is when i listen to my music. These poor kids today, I can't even imagine.

  • very true ... i am only a youngin, but understand the magnitude of the music back in your day compared to the bland music being produced today ... i feel as if i shouldve grown up with dylan, Seger, Morrison instead of the sad examples of today

  • ...mmm..memories...

  • Hi.Now,this video can't be played due to access problem(?).

Would you please re-upload this video? I want to see this!

  • Oh, my. Didn't I have a few hot romances (or whatever) to this song?

  • this is a great song....

  • I awoke last night to sound of thunder. "How far off?" I sat and wondered.

One of two favorite Seger songs.

  • Thanks, tangent. Somehow I missed seeing Seger live back in the day. This is great stuff you've got.

  • Awesome, Bob Seger is the man.

  • Oh man, the name just says it all...This song will move you...Seger has the best way of explaining the fun of youth...

  • know what ya mean man,

    I know what ya mean...

  • At 50 missing those night moves.

  • Bob Seger and the Silver Bullent band. perhaps my most favorite band

  • hey tangent5000 can you plz put up Old Time Rock & Roll from the 1996 concert DVD you have?
