  • i've used .22 caliber for almost 10 years, yet when i used a .177 caliber rifle i fell in love with it. actually i've caught more games with a .177 than a .22. as with many experienced hunter would say, "the size and power is not always the factor, it's where you place the shot.". and personally, i would go for distance and accuracy than sheer power. with a .177 in 850 fps, i can hit target as far as 120 yards and still take a hit on a target's vitals cleanly. i am not bragging about it,

  • Your police dont even carry guns! They carry batons.

  • @CrunchyBrush Close but your off by a few pounds. Im actually under weight for my age. Sounds like someones pissed of because a 14 year old has a bigger/more powerful gun then some fat ass loser who trys to make fun of other countries when we all no your just jealous. Nuff said.

  • @ILaxWithaPro7 you say that about warfare but there origionaly, the USA was gunna attack UK, or so i have been told. and i am not jealous that every nutcase is armed in my country. only specialist police units. also i am not fat ass, sorry to ruin your daydreams.

  • haha you guys cant have guns with ftlb over 12???? I live in america and im 14 and have a benjamin trail np xl 1100 .22 with 28ftlbs.

  • @ILaxWithaPro7 haha u are an american and you weigh over 3000 pounds and ur only 14

  • @CrunchyBrush shut your fucking mouth- why is there so much hate between the two countries- I was always against the british (and to some point, still am) but in reality- we are very alike- and would stick up for eachother in warfare to the day our two countris are destroyed- we are allies whether you like it or not, and if you don't like eachother, you still have to respect and tolerate your american comrades.

  • Very good info thanks!...

  • When choosing a calibre (sub 12ftlb) consider what you will be using your air rifle for most. eg if plinking and getting into target shooting then .177 would be the best choice. If it's for rats around your compost heap .22 would be a good choice. Accurate shots are easier with .177 because higher velocity means less holdover is required. However .177 is a bit louder, .177 springers take more force to cock, .177 PCPs have fewer shots per charge and .177 pellets are a bit more fiddly than .22.

  • i have both a 22 and a 177 and my opinion is for close range high impact shots choose a 22 and for longer range shots choose a 177

  • excellent!!

  • the prize is also a HUGE difference

  • I'd ask a question about .177 pellets, but it doesn't appear that GlosGunCo replies to comments. Oh, well.

  • @CanItAlready i can answer.

  • @Kingmyron23 my freind has got a .22and he can hit and a can in one shot from 71 metres away by aiming about 3/4 cm higher i have a .177 but havent had chance to use it yet hope this helped :)

  • KingMyRon most .177 like your benjamin only advertise that speed (1200 fps) with lead free pellets but with lead pellets your looking at 860- 950 fps (the heavier the pellets the lower fps) Your welcome

  • i like the way he says two two

  • how much for the browning 800 mag in the back

  • Nice detailed video. you've answered what i wanted to know there.

  • Great explanation. Im thinking about getting the Benji Trail NP XL .177. If you were me which one would you get? the .22 or .177 NP XL? And I have asked many hunters and they would rather go with .22. But by your explanations I'd rather go with .177. Im a hunter and i personally think if i hit my target right in the head then i dont the power from the .22! But some people say the .177 accuracy is bad because it surpass the speed of sound? Can you help me to make the right choice?

  • @KingMyron23 im getting the Benjiman trail np XL in couple of weeks once it arrives

i also wanted to get the .177 for the super sonic speed but due to tht high speed its nt accurate anymore and the pellet deviates, and 1100 is pretty fast so do like me and get the .22 it has muzzle break of 30flbs while .177 only 24flbs and thts wt u need for gd hunting

  • funny 3:35. awsome video

  • .22

  • your video is awesome, one question though, I would like and all rounder. In that, id love to take out pests from a distance with accuracy but I might also want to go for rat closer up. What would you recommend, .177 or .22. im thinking of getting the FX Royal 400 if that makes any difference.

  • hi alistair

    well explained,nice footage.

in response to the comments below,it will not matter what cal you use.as long as you can hit that kill zone time and time again.

i use both .22 / .177 and hit the same target no matter what cal.once you have done your mildot calibration at given ranges, then everything should be spot on.

    regards

    davy

  • Thank you I choose .177 for sub 12ft/lbs any day any time.

  • 22 cal hw 35 16 jouls big stopingpower
