We all 'ave 'em!! I see you are from Durham. I lived in the Three Tuns for a couple of months before buying a house in East Herrington. I liked living up there - just for 3 years in the 1980s. Hope you are enjoyinmg my brass band videos. I appreciate your comments.
I learned to play while in the RAF and enjoyed it until arthritis in my fingers stopped it. I am enjoying your vids. It is the first time I have seen the Whit Friday Marches.
If you have time, come to Durham on Saturday 11th July for The Durham Miners Gala. 40 brass bands on the march. A day I akways look forward to. Only missed seeing 4 galas in 55 years!
The Marsden Band comes to the Gala every year. Up here it is known as The Herrington Band as it brings in The New Herrington Banner. We also often see Upper Hill Band, Dobcross Band, Grimethorpe, and this year we have raised funds to bring The Buckhaven & Methil Miners Band down from Fife in Scotland. Thought to be the first Scottish brass band for about 25 years
Yes I am Michael's Dad. You played well especially considering the limited rehearsals etc. Your march into Lydgate and performance at Grotton (courtesy of Michael's Mum) are also online now. Did we meet late on in Delph by the way? Anyway, see you next year.
Quite good performance of one of the easier overtures. Did not come over as well as your "Punchinello"

Marsden is a couple of miles up the road from where I live in Delph. Their conductor, also living in Delph, is Glyn Williams.

Are you Mike's Dad, by any chance ;-)
It sounds a damn sight better than I thought it did, and I was playing!
Thanks for that! It went quite well considering we hadn't played it since the Wednesday evening ;-)
