What I don't get is the fact that Emily knows about Zack as soon he switched back with York (complete with white hair)....She even knows his name and urge her to kill her before the Red Tree grows.
wow hope you don't mind all the comments I JUST beat the game came to look up ending/theories because the game did not explain enough. I enjoyed your video, just wish it showed you talking, or the images were what you were talking about, or game footage
There was a moment I wondered near the end if York was his twin. Because the twin boys said their's another York! you must be twins, and there was a line about you called me back in the room?
Kaysen I had lightly suspected him because he carried the plant around, but I though he can't be the raincoat killer because he's too big. The reason behind him, so he's a plant monster? an alien? I didn't get that at all! WHAT was his motive? wee killing is fun? or if he's a plant wanting to see humans die because we destroy plants?
the rooms to me were his mind. He blocked the memory of his parents death it was held by a door when he looked in the door he saw it.
The other creatures I though York was crazy and seeing creatures but then EMILY COLD SEE THEM TOO! She didn't know about holding her breath. Which to me takes that theory out. If it was stress she would surely see creatures differently than York our minds are different things we wouldn't create the same looking monsters. I did wonder if maybe they were victims of the ritual? or had seeds planted in their bellies. Or with 6th sense you see them. or maybe they ate the seeds
George I though was kind of disappointing. A person who prides themseves off of keeping the town safe being amazing at their job doesn't want to have kills show up because it means he is doing terrible. However his mom being abusive sets him up, wanting power over woman because he had no power growing up. I don't understand was Stewart was his father right? He couldn't kill the mother so she abused George? so why didn't he take George away? did George know that was his father?
York and Zach I though was the EASIEST thing to figure out. In fact early in the game I was thinking he keeps talking to himself he must have an multiple personality disorder. I just didn't know Zach was himself, I though Zach was another personality. I also had an early theory that maybe Zach is really crazy and evil and a killer and York doesn't know his other personality was killing people though that would be fun...but that was quickly dismissed.

Not disagreeing with you Kiriyama177, I had pretty much the same theories on the ending as you did. Just thinking that York is a self image yet much better looking than Zach. Although both are freaks!
Best game I played of 2010, and one of most inventive, underated games of all time.
Fuck all the copy & pasted FPS games (Call Of Duty... Battlefield... ect) this is genius work at it's best.
someone said that "York" could be a spirit that bonded with Zach and that the otherworld is supposed to be like a future notice that you are going to die and that the zombies/shadows are there to take over your body since "York" does already, could refer to them as the angels of death. I dunno really, somehow fits with York going with Emily to that place and maybe why Becky was too afraid to step out of her house, well I dunno about this one, she was really scared.
@Kiriyama117 well there are alot of theories to this game like the wall crawlers could of symbolized the women who (final boss) implanted his seeds into. ever notice that they were naked?
Thanks for some of the clearing up. Games alright but I was starting to get annoyed that the plot wasnt making much sense to me!
