@hotnovel Lot's of the old school studio cats. We used it in our studios in MTSU's recording program.This was before Ableton was born and before Apple bought Logic. Back in the day, if you worked a lot with MIDI (electronic music guys) or sound for picture, DP was the better choice over ProTools. Remember guys, it's not what you use, but how well you use what you have. Workflow wins.

Also, Electronic Musician named Digital Performer 7.2 their editors choice Best DAW for 2011. Check it out.

@dandevilbr You have to click on the Arrangement View Selector (located on the top right those two little buttons) Than you have to select a region where to you want to add notes, highlight it and right click - instert midi clip, than you can draw notes.

@SurferBeats no one is gonna be able to answer that question. im in the same position you are in, and after days of searching for the answer to that question without finding an answer, i just decided to download the Live trial and see for myself. from the vids ive seen on youtube, the sounds produced in ableton are less synthetic sounding than in fl.

@SurferBeats - Both FL Studio and Ableton Live are excellent DAW (Digital Audio Workstations), use the one you are most comfortable with. Also, Ableton and FL Studio can communicate with each other through the use of Rewire. There are numerous tutorials on getting FL Studio and Ableton to work together with ReWire. I personally find that Ableton meets my needs a little better and it's less complicated once you get a solid understanding of it. It has an amazing set tools that come with it.

Not possible to compare an MC303 with a DAW like Ableton Live lol ! Live is very complete and powerfull software and very easy to use. It is a major improvement in the software music since it is born.

Regarding the track, the sounds are good, synth as drums.

Now, i jump over to ableton. But basicly i dont had to, cause you can do anything in fl studio. Go with fl man. Its easy, and if you have skill it also sounds proffesional.

@clifford1122 i may try to help i switched to ableton about 2 weeks ago. it is so much better. it has everything the same it just has a way better its much more organized too. the way it works is so brilliant. i was very opposed to ableton for a long time thinking it didnt have the same productive tools as fl studio like all the plugins and specialized synths. but ableton is better but you might have to learn all the analog ways of doing stuff. like from scratch on synth.

Pro tip; You make wicked tunes with any software, the difference is work flow, and work flow is largely determined by the person using it, so just find something that works for you.
