  • buen clarinetista muy bueno ya quisiera yo tocar como el felisidadez

  • I fear the day when the world is filled with these little "prodigies", sure they have to sound and the ability but they are only one trick ponies.

  • He is amazing. But in my opinion everything is a big too loud... all the pianissimo parts sound too heavy. Like his trill at the end that starts the finale, or when he comes in low after the second piano feature

  • why wasn't I born asian D;

  • This boy is fantastic. He has a beautiful sound!

  • There's videos of musical heaven like this, then there's videos of clarinet playing that's so bad it's almost offensive. I love this video!

  • Wanna hear some death metal?? ;D

  • i should really stop watching clarinet videos on youtube........ it's lowering my self esteem....

  • @TomJLable mine too:/

  • like if: when he raised his clarinet you thought he was going to sound like a dieing cat then he started playing and you spat milk all over the screen.....

  • i hope he doesn't give it up ):

  • This kid is absolutely gifted. I'm a senior in high school and although he is much, much better than me, I can't help but feel inspired to be a better musician myself.

  • Wow! You send tingles down my spine! Well done :D

  • @16Goanna did you honestly just call a little boy a freak? no class man. no class.

  • เก่งมากค่ะอีหนู ^+++^b

  • the piano player is briliant!

  • @16Goanna Yes, he is really good. Only the bet ones receive comments of all kind of people including of you.

  • MY LIFE. IT IS MEANINGLESS!!!

  • Chill your shit people, its in Eb, the easiest key for clarinet to play in. Im sure most high schoolers could play this.

  • @LouieOmega You're the one talking rubbish! This piece could not be played by most high schoolers because it's not just a clarinet piece, the piano part is just as hard. That's why it's called a DUO! And it's not that easy. People struggle for years to play this piece as it is above Grade Eight standard. So shut up about stuff you obviously know nothing about; whether you're 'sure' or not!

  • @eeyoreroxful honestly its impossible if no one practices and has a crappy accompanist...But someone who practices it every week with their accompanist then they could be just fine...

  • @LouieOmega good thing you know what you're talking about!

    oh wait.

  • Han Kim , I will support you!

  • Hes fantastic, not perfect?? Very enjoyable performance. Ksaxman.com

  • some ppl just make fun of his kind. Just because,he is a different type of skin. When the whites cant play at all at this age.But he can play Great things when he gets older!!!!

  • it's always good to see that somebody is doing it better, the oposite would not be that interesting! Very well done job, congratulation!

  • @Naill0 LO FREAKING L!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • tell me something if you get you in conservatoire when you born with the best teachers with the best instruments the mori expensieve without deserv this the paganini hasnt got music background no money at all no teacher at all and grow up like paganini how you say that kid is tallent im profecor and i havent got in my life teacher i take a clarinet and i learn. learn what is music.his level yes its high but that kid hasnt the own background he play because he is a robot of his teacher

  • @16Goanna The word freak sounds so offensive!! Get a life and stop being a hater...

  • I salute him.

  • Hey, just because he squeaked once doesn't mean you should ignore all the other great things he did.

I just think his pants are too big.

  • 11 peoples jealous hahaha

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!

  • at what second is the squeak?

  • @matigordon right at 0:57

  • There's passion and liveliness in this playing --- I think the young clarinetist genuinely loves what he's doing. I can't sense evil parents behind there or anything!!! that's so unfair! I think he makes lots of people jealous that's why they say nasty things.Well played, at any age.

  • i wasnt playing like this until my 9th grade year! -_____-

it's time to practice and be better!

  • Super!

  • La pianista no puede tocar las terceras por ej. 1:54 o ya es el colmo en el 4:09 solo por correr como locos sin sentido ni entendimiento, no son claros, definitivamente así no es esta magistral música occidental.

  • @crazitaco so am which is why i put "mexicans" in that sentece.

  • Great to hear someone who plays really smooth legato and technical ability. Scary to think how good he will become with age.

  • wow!!

  • I don't like the way he ended his perfomance but overall he was great! Really great

  • I know this guy, he goes to boarding school in uk, so his parents couldn't possibly pressurise him as they are in Korea.

  • i can play that same thing!!!!!!!!! its not really dat hard

  • @Thejibletz shut up!! he was frickin 11!!!

  • He is a beast!

  • @meetyourfate192 of course i have but he's 19 or 20

  • What the F*ck!!!!!

How old is he? He plays so GREAT!

  • Jesus Christ, that was incredible.

  • @xHuntedGunzPCGx then i must be looking in the looking wrong places cuz i havent seen any good players that are not asian

  • @lolcatsaregay You're looking in the wrong places lol. Heard of Julian Bliss?

  • Oh my god! O.O I play the clarinet, I have 17 years old, I'm playing the clarinet 10 years... And I don't have words... Waw =)

  • lol this kid's parents probably don't even let him go outside. just do homework and play the intrument.

  • why are all the goods kids asian? no mexicans? god.

  • @lolcatsaregay Definitely not true...there are highly talented young clarinetist of all races.

  • @lolcatsaregay >:O im mexican i play clarinet and im a beast

i didnt learn at the age of 3 like these damn asians who are probably forced by their parents, but hey, I learned clarinet because i genuinely wanted to and i am passionate in what i do. thats all that matters to me.

  • @crazitaco

Is that due to perception you create? or you sincerely think music can be learned by force?

  • this is brad like the website see you tomorrow third period

  • Ohhhh!!! So dificult!!! That's too easy!!!

  • too dificult for him

  • Wow! He plays very well.

    It's so amazing!

  • bravo

  • aw he squeaked... I'm playing this for my 7th grade AMEB exam... not easy, so well done to this kid and the pianist

  • Comment removed

  • asians

  • Do any of you notice the incredibly difficult piano part of this piece--after all, it's a "Duo". Both players are very virtuosic--however, I agree with the viewer who said that it was mechanical and lacked emotion. The fashion is to play things too fast and without proper thought to the shape, style and beauty of the music. It isn't just virtuoso music to be played like a machine.

  • He is so young! :D pretty good i would say.

  • and to think that was all by memory.... WOW

  • you gotta be flippin kidding me... KOREANS FTW!! >XDDD

  • No amount of parental pressure can make you great clarinet player. (They can only make you practice, not make music). Besides that, a tremendous amount of parental SUPPORT is required. Difficult horn!

  • I'm not imressed.. comon people he's asian he can do better...

    Just kidding he's AWESOME!!! XD

  • what else can you expect from an asian... theyre good at everything.he will probably be a grandmaster in clarinet by 12....

  • Keine Dynamik, kein Gefühl, keine Emotionen, kein Verständnis für dieses großartige Musikstück. Einfach nur "heruntergespielt", wie eine Maschine.

No dynamics, no sentiment, no emotion, no comprehension for this awesome piece of music. He just "plays it down" (dont know the right translation for this, sorry), like a machine.

  • @liddleNDNduckiee You play an overblown altissimo E.

  • @Clarinet4Life1 I believe it is actually an F.

  • @Andrew67100 I just performed it like 6 months ago.

  • amazing.

  • Really great job, this is a tough piece and you did an excellent job at it, keep up the hard work

  • Squeak around 0.59. No rice for a week.

  • this is superb.!! congradulations on a very nice musical performence. it was very nice...this is simply outstanding for such good musicality to be performed by such young talent. It has nothing to do with your race, asian, african american, caucasian, indian, this performence was very outstanding. congradulations!

  • Obvious prodigy :-)

  • This kid is great!

  • @Naill0

don't envy man, respect instead :)

  • Fuck dis chink

  • nice playing. All the best for bright future.

  • got to give this kid some credit hes only 11, wow i just started clarinet...i'd look like a fail compared to him!

  • Han Kim uses a 1 1/2 reed. You can tell on the arrticulation

  • @EmilianClarinet

at least 2 1/2 or worst case 2, otherwise the spund wouldnt be so warm

  • this makes feel I've done nothing with my life at all.

  • @pong224 I no right u always see these prodigies and u just feel like what am i dpoing with my life

  • can you tech me how to be good

  • More asians good at music. I swear.

  • ASIANS?What has color of skin to do with this...

  • I read some jealous comments here.

This young man is so musical. He lives the music. Extraordinary. My husband and I (both professional musicians for the last 40 years in the better orchestras were getting goosebumps. And lets not forget the pianist.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Han Kim is just a good player. His technique is virtuosic and his tone is very good for someone 11 years of age. There's room in the tone department for progress but if he keeps it up he's going to be the next Simeon Bellison.

  • its not true asians are gd in everything..they just put their mind to what ever they do and they do it gd and with pride :)

  • asians are good at everything.

  • i played this piece, and this makes me feel like I am a horrible clarinetist, i only played it like, half as fast as him...

  • omg he is good! he is 11 i am 13 and i am good but good like him. he plays better than my 40 year old aunt, whos played the clarinet since 7th grade!!!

  • this video mad em cry cuz im 15 and im not half as good as him!

  • Comment removed

  • poor kid....

  • Esses japoneses sao doentes! Nao sao padrao de comparação!

  • this is not fair... i have played clarinet for 3 years i wish i coukd hit high notes like that..... asians are good at everything.

  • @splashinghippos no you just suck at everything ;p

  • I hate my life

  • This guy needs to watch his sound and the way he's trying to maintain the sound all through the technical passages. He is wayyyyy off and the tempo is too fast and so it lost all the musical sensitivity.

  • Dont be jealous

  • Sorry, but thats just not normal!!!

Please play with toycars and teddies.. you`re too cute and young to spend your childhood with this.. its enough time when youre older.. but very good boy! :)

  • ech... he hasn't got eny contact with the accompanist... :/

it's sure he is talented, but he doesn't understand what he play :/

  • well he gets to play for wat every orchestra he wants by the time he hits 22 lol he'll be so amazing none of us will really be able to understand. xD

  • lol unless he burns out because his parents make him practice 8 hours a day, it happened to a friend of mine who won international piano competitions when he was 17 but then quite piano in college cause he hated it by then since he was forced to play since he was 4.

  • @ Metero222

That is very sad. I really hope someone as talented as this kid keeps playing. The world needs musicians like him. I play trumpet, so I am not jealous of this kid. I want to see him one day in the New York Philharmonic hopefully, and hopefully your friend will someday play the piano again.

  • OMG! BEASTY-EST THING EVER!!!! YOU HAVE CRAZY ASS FINGERS AND AMAZING TRILLS BTW! DEFINATELY ONE HELL OF A PERFORMER! you sound very good... im probably like the same as you but you are WAAAAAAY better than me.... we of course i always have the shitty-est of reeds YOU SHOULD LIKE PLAY FFOREVER!

  • i mean same age

  • no dude you probably suck. only someone who thinks they are good go on youtube and post something like this. please go practice f major before trying to play anything else nub.

  • wtf??? are you talking to me? or this kid on the video?

  • Oh my God, you hit a high "A" at that age.

  • He's Asian.. he will probably be a Master Clarinet by the time he is 14.

  • @GuitarFreako5 he's not already?

  • @GuitarFreako5 He's 14 now, and amazing (I go to the same school)

  • he doesn't play loud enough because he still has undeveloped lungs. i mean yeah, it's impressive but still, he's 11. he probably got coached on how to play every note because he lacks the physical maturity to make music. but i'm sure when he gets older he'll be able to do it all by himself. but he'll probably get burned out because he'll run out of stuff to play.

  • You don't know that, he's better than you so when you can play better you can judge him, wait, you can't, HES AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD KID.

  • small intonation probs. just a few days ago i heard sb who plays the 3rd movement better than he does. but that person is 18.

  • holy cow by the time this kid is 18, he will be amazingggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • I hope it's desire that this kid feels. Not parental pressure.

  • @EquiSoup of course its parrental presure he is asian " U A DOCTOH! YET,, no dad im 14"

  • I want to study at the royal academy of music - 6 hours a day of practise! - yes, his parents must be hard, but he sure has the talent to become pro !

  • how hard his parents must of hit him

  • dam how much hours do you practice a day.

  • wow! you are great!! I'm 16 and I'm just catching up. darn, I have to practice more than 4 hours a day.

  • i speak english

  • Bravo! flawless exept for at :58

  • ça peut arriver a tout le monde! en tout cas c'est super!!

  • erro 0:58

  • you are amazing!!

You are the next Julian Bliss

your tone quality is so advanced

you play like a proffensional and your eleven!

  • =O wow. amazing

  • incredible, you are the best, congratulations

  • Squeak at 5:58 screwed up the piece

  • Unbelievable!! Brilliant playing, both clarinet and piano! The pianist's name should also have been mentioned.

  • do you hav the music for this??

  • No, svenskabeck, this "song" as you call it features both players equally--it is actually a "piece" and is totally a duo as its name suggests. We should always have the idea that clarinet (or other instrument or voice) and piano is a DUET!

  • Wow....

  • Good job! I just dislike the thing you do at the end with the waving arms...

  • It's sad that not many people noticed the hard work that pianist has contributed. I have played the piano part many times and the piano part is way harder than the clarinet part. Bravissimo for both players.

  • i play both the piano and the clarinet. i do have to say that both parts are VERY difficult, but i cant side with one. I would say that both parts are hard. lots of use of the cromatic scale.

  • i know but this is song is featuring the clarinetist, not the pianist

  • lol i must say the piano part is much harder than the clarinet part.

i have been playing clarinet for about 3 years and must say the whole thing is far beyond me, let alone the rapid articulation and reaching the high A.

but having played piano for about 9 years i still find the accompaniment very challenging.

I'd probably be spending more time on the piano part than i will on the clarinet part to master this piece!

  • My piano professor once said to me that this piece is THE piece where the clarinetist will always get more recognition than the pianist, even though the piano part is many times more difficult than the clarinet part. People forget that Weber was a virtuoso pianist. The pianist's name should DEFINITELY have been mentioned. (First.)

To preempt the stupid backlash, I am not, by any means, trivializing the clarinet part. I play clarinet well enough to know that this is no walk in the park. At all.

  • she makes the piano part look easy, who is she?? I mean get real, shes need to be playing the Met she blows him away and hes perfect!!

  • amazing, and good tone quality

  • T_T I'm jealous

  • this guys tone will hum the butterflies out of the trees,,, AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! UR AMAZING! I've only been playing for almost two years and I'm still on 3rd grade! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • counting in 6 beats per measure i mean :P

  • dang dude your so good. I have to play this for my solo and ensemble concert thing. and im still in 6 8ths. i wish i could play this as good as u man haha. credits to the pianist too- all the other comments are bout the clarinetist haha.

  • Now, i'm having trouble distinguishing different instruments by sound; if i heard this in a listening exam, I would easily mistake the instrument for the oboe, or even a flute. In theory, I understand the differences between the instruments, but in practice, when it has many other instruments playing simultaneously, I frequently pick the wrong one.

  • HS!!!! UR SOOO GOOD Im 15 and wish to play as good as u XD

  • excellent! I know how one can butcher this piece. However, you did a very excellent job.

  • jeeeze man, this is amazing. weber pieces are my favorite, ever. u cant be only 11, u play sooo well. really great. :]

  • Go awesomeness! I wish I could play that well... How long did you work on it??

  • not bad, but tooo fast, many mistakes... without feeling and expression just played down...

  • Give him a break, he's 11! He played it very well.

  • dang he is frekin good

  • holy homosexuals he is good

  • thank you so much for posting this it has helped me because i'm trying to play it but i know it can never be this good :D

keep up the really good work

  • in his defense hes asian so hes probally been playing since he was in the womb still your an amazing clarinetist keep it up.

  • asian?? its really rude to hear stereotypes about my race from someone who im sure is not asian. keep your comments to yourself

  • he squeaked once, he's fucking awesome

  • wow you are good.

    better dan me rofl

  • Words cannot describe how amazing you are! This may be rude to ask but how are old you? I wish I could even come close to making a composition as beautiful as you have. Great job!

  • he is amazing but i don't think he composed this piece xD it was carl maria von weber. but he is amazing

  • wow.you are great.i've been playing for 7 years now and not really better then you maybe even better then me.respect!!!

  • wow! i'm in college & still cant play this well!
