I was raised on this music, listening to Kings X is one of my earliest memories (I'm 15 now). and i remember leaning on the stage while at a concert when i was maybe 8 years old and having Doug lean down and sing directly to me:) it was one of the best nights of my life.
Been a fan for years. Honestly, I`ve been waiting for them to do Gretchen again, which I know they hate (not the album itself, but the obsessiveness required to make it). This is a fantastic song, so spooky and melodic. Damn.
I've only seen them once live on teh Dogman tour...but then, and now, I'm blown away that they would sound... E-X-A-C-T-L-Y like they do in the studio. Everything tells me that should be impossible. And yet they do it.
OK, maybe a 1-2% variance, but waaaay closer to the studio sound than anyone should.
Utterly amazing. And this song is of course fantastic.
I tried this guitar model at Namm when it was... supposed to be released. I 'm not sure if it ever did though because right after Ty was about to promote it, he fell in love with a new average production model of Yamaha's and was like sorry guys but this is better than my own signature model. hahaha. His original Yamaha signature one was freaking sweet though.
Man great picture and sound!!! Not very offen here on youtube. Love King's x one of my favorite bands. And so damn underrated. Only one cd of theirs i disliked manic moonlight. The sound on that record just wasn't king's x at all. Everything else they recorded pure Gold. The newest album was amazing and dug's album was good too.
I love IT! Advanguard. Other bands get the accolades; they seem to go somewhat unnoticed. Even the venue they're playing looks small. They should be in theater or large auditorium with 1000's. I'm blown away by the fact they've been around over 20 yrs & it took me till recently, last 5 years to find them. I can't understand how good they are compared to what I perceive as lack of commercial success. I wasn't under a rock. I just missed them for yrs. I hope they keep going & get more recognition.
OK- lemme state that I love this band: their writing, their singing, their playing, and as a bass player, I especially admire and respect Doug's musicianship and that special "growl" he gets out of his basses ... that being said, viewing this video, I'm convinced that Doug is the inspiration for (ventriloquist) Jeff Dunham's Peanut character ... Doug, if you read this, I'm truly sorry, but I think even you'd get a laff out of the comparison
utterly blows my mind that their live show is PRECISELY like the studio versions, every time; obviously this sounds live, but the tightness is unbelievable.
it's pretty cool .they have a plaque where the old high school is,(which is now city hall).it has all grads listed under the tower in front of city hall.
ty graduated from pearl high,in mississippi, which is the same school tommy aldridge the drummer from ozzy, whitesnake graduated.tommy graduated in 68 and ty in 73.
wow, this is hella qool. uh, i just saw it on dug;s myspace, and now i guess i'll try 2 put it on mine ... can ya believe these guys are like in their 50's? (so i've heard) ... maybe it's a big joke. i dunno.
i like the dynamics of the song. sweet. slow. heavy. sweet. faster. heavy again. sweet. the video was great. captured the king's x sound for my eyes. doug skinny. doug fat. jerry in acid mode was cool in the heavy end, too. impressed. thanks for the post.
One of my absolute faves!! They rock...so hard. ; )

I want to know the tuning of the guitar for this song. Sounds really low!
Drop-A, maybe?
Great tune!

Ummm...Why is the guitar nowhere in the mix. Poor Dug is left out there alone. This is a bad mix. Other than that, I love this band.
guitarguy10000 4 years ago
what are you talking about, there's plenty of guitar in the mix...
katnpaulha 3 years ago
Nope. It needs to be louder. It's in the background. Remember, I LOVE this tune. It's not a criticism. It's mixed poorly that's all.
