@NYtassu It was explained in the series. In the alpha timeline, Kurisu was mainly the one who completed the time leap machine. SERN was spying on the lab and stole their work, allowing them to create a dystopia in the future by using that. Kurisu is not a SERN spy in the time period that Steins;Gate takes place in, but in the future she is blackmailed with her mother's life to work at SERN and is the mother of the time machine.
