I think someday we may be able to put a probe in the suns photosphere where the temperature is under 10,000 F. The suns corona is over 5,000,000 F
If we could:
1) Capture a commet
2) Place a probe capable of withstanding 10,000 F at the core of said comet
3) Direct the captured comet at the precise angle and speed required to have the comet burn up just as it reaches the photosphere and deliver the probe at an angle that would let it survive long enough to return data.
