At a party it's always good to just go and meet people whether it be through just having a chat, or hitting up the dance floor and rocking out.

Asking about their interests, like what they're doing at school, what they plan on doing in the future, and ACT LIKE YOU ENJOY WHAT THEY SAY haha feigning interest is not hard, and it helps them feel comfortable with you.

But having friends with you, and having friends to introduce you to people is also really useful :)
