  • just shot mine today. 8 jams in 125 rounds. i say that the break in recomendations are necessary. I used the factory mags and chip Mc Cormic mags.

  • Anyone know what aftermarket barrels work with the S&W 4516 model ?

  • @NativeShaman

WTF would you want an after market barrel on a S&W christ how much better do you think it gets?

  • try not to ride the slide forward. let it drop on its own.

  • Kimber or Springfield Armory or other? TIA.

  • I knew it...You look familiar too. I think you were a booth down from us newbies when Walt was teaching us the required safety course for a NYS permit. Great gun, BTW...I have the same thing in a satin finish.

  • yup that's Blue Mountain...weather has been pretty bad but i cant wait to get back over there

  • This place looks familiar...Is this the Blue Mountain Sportsman Center up in Briarcliff Manor???

  • no problems at all!! this is a great gun and would recommend it to all. We called up smith to ask about the differences in their 1911s and he said they all fire straight and true. No matter which model you buy, fixed sights or adjust., if it does not fire straight send it back to smith and they will re-align

  • Hey buddy have you had any jams or other malfulctions?

  • You can expect perfection from Smith... for example...UN-like Kimber which tells you they need at least 500 rounds to break them in so they won't jam! Wow...

I'll take a Smith over many other 1911's any day!!
