  • i want to know how my uncle survived

  • 1:02

  • i am an arsenal fan i am 12 years old 30 minutes ago i had never heard of hillsborough

i would just like to say that even as a diehard "gooner" this is one of the saddest thing's i have ever seen and only now do i understand how devoted the liverpool fans were to save there family, friends or pretty much anyone who needed help

that was so brave and i will always admire those who helped save lives and i will honour those 96 people who perished almost entirely at the fault of the police

    thanks

  • RIP...Fuck Duckenfield, Mackenzie and Cohen!

  • This is tragic. What is it with sport in the 70's and 80's having a very eery dark feel to it. Ive since accidents of F1 in the 70's and 80's and they just look worse on camera than modern day tragedys on camera.

  • 96 dead (only 14 out of the 96 mad it to hospital), 766 people injuired (300 of them were hospitaized)

  • OMG at 1:08 how did they get out of tht?

  • @tim988 Eh Most likely they didnt.

  • The music and commentary didn't mix well, but that's beside the point. These images were just unbearable, especially the one at 1:05.

  • Terrible scenes. Devastating ... Jesus Christ, what was that??

  • i am trying to understand what happend??? plz somebody tell me i am not english and i want to know .....Thanks

  • this makes me cry, im so sorry for everyone.

  • YNWA

  • JFT96, what's the amazing song in the background?

  • @carterm2000 The song included in the video is called "Heart as big as Liverpool". This yank weeps. YNWA

  • RIP for the 96

    Respect from true blues army

  • Respect!

  • the radio commentator should have taken back his comments about looking the worse for drink - no that was shock and partial suffocation and the bit about getting in without tickets - that was the police's fault for not controling and guiding the flow of spectators into the ground

  • you scoucers are the ones to blame ....and you know it but you want to blame "the bizzys"

  • @mrtoptenatten

    show some respect.

  • @mrtoptenatten where do all you fuckin pricks come from, people died have some respect.

  • @mrtoptenatten Educate yourself. Read the Taylor Report, read Phil Scraton's 'Hillsborough - The Truth', and pay the Hillsborough For Dummies site a visit.

  • @mrtoptenatten get out of here you maggot

  • I remember seeing this unfold live on TV. I will always remember that day. A terrible terrible day................

  • as a steward, i looked at wat the coppers did in 88 and compared it to 89 and i cant believe they didnt use the same plans, the teams were the same, the ground was the same and so was the police. RIP to my brothers and sisters who died tht day u will always live on. a plea from me a steward if a steward asks u/tells u to do somethin it is for ur safety tht is wat we're there for ur safety and to prevent somethin like this occuring again

    JUSTICE FOR THE 96

    YNWA

  • God bless each and every soul taken that awful day, you will never be forgotten.

    YNWA RIP

  • how could the sun say liverpool fans were doing what they claimed ((urinating on police officers) when in all the pictures visible you see them working together to save them, seen here for example at 1:40.

  • As a Hillsborough "veteran" I would comment as follows. This disaster was avoidable. The policing strategy was flawed. The vast majority of SY police did their very best in a horrible situation. Unless you were there it's hard to fully understand the events that contributed to this tragedy. 96 lost. Hundreds injured. Thousands scarred for life. This day will live forever in the memory of all LFC fans & many others & has changed football forever. We still need ...JUSTICE FOR THE 96. RIP

  • It was not just the police who are at fault but the desperate Liverpool fans who wanted to see the game. Matters not though. This was an awful day and a true tragedy. I remember watching it live on tv. Awful.

  • @98raza20

1:14 and 2:49 on the video "The Hillsborough Disaster 1989 Unfolds" (can't link for some reason) are two examples of my dad doing "nothing to help them". "Obliviously" your one-sided view of this terrible incident is due for a bit of revision after all these years.

  • @98raza20

My father is a police officer who was at the disaster and can be seen in many of these images hanging over the fencing attempting to pull people out (he's one of the only officer's without a helmet as it was lost in the crowds). Perhaps you ought to "realize" [sic] that this disaster wasn't caused by lack of police action but by those so desperate to watch 22 men kick a ball around they were prepared to pile into an already full section of the stadium and crush those at the front.

  • @UnwantedVigil don't hate on anybody except your fathers bosses

  • @UnwantedVigil people who had no fucking idea the section was full because CERTAIN officers, not ALL officers, allowed them to enter that already packed section when THEY knew about it, they didnt lock the fucking gate that led to it and move them to the side, they USHERED THEM IN!!!! we're not disrespecting ALL officers that day! some were as heroic as the fans themselves and did their best to save lives! its the officers at the top who made the decisions we want brought to justice!

  • @UnwantedVigil Maybe your father was one of those who did something to help when his superiors did NOTHING. Ask his boss on the day, David Duckenfield how he could sit there, frozen and do NOTHING to help those being crushed to death. Ask the FA why they gave the smallest end of the ground to the largest group of supporters. Better still, educate yourself and read the Taylor Report before you pass judgement on the 96.

  • i learnt bout this at school and i was so shocked, as i never knew what happened?!?! :o x

  • It makes me angry that something like this was allowed to happen, where were the stewards? The police men? ANYONE? From watching many videos and documentaries on this event it seems the fans were just left alone to decide where to go on there own. Pathetic work by the people at Hillsborough. RIP 96

  • question, were liverpool fans pushin in or was the police forcing them in?

  • oh the poor people at 1:07 i really hope they got out okay :'(

  • JFT96

  • Liverpool fans are ONLY son of bitch, the holigans are crazy and cruel, do not know what the sport, only know what they are beer and cask....ITALIAN FOOTBALL FAN

  • @grobbi96 you do realize that the hillsbrough disaster wasn't a riot, or caused by hooliganism. It was caused by poor policing. Even with people screaming, been crushed to death they did nothing to help them. Go read it up until then don't comment coz you obliviously don't know what it is about.

  • @grobbi96 fuck off what do you know

  • Why are you all sad? Frankly I think it's stupid. As stupid as the people who die in Mecca trying to stone some stupid statue thinking it represents Satan.

Come on Don't push your way around. ZZZ. stupid asses

  • @fuckliao

    What are you on about?

  • @fuckliao

    What are you on about?

  • The images on this video are so distressing! It really is disturbing to think about all the people that had no choice but to basically get crushed. Poor people..

  • rip to the 96.. and may JUSTICE be done after all those years

  • To the 96 that passed away @ Hillsborough on that fateful day, now looking down with smiles so proud, you sing with us as we sing aloud, you help us, guide us, get us through the day, I known that Istanbul was down to YOUS and even though the future is unknown, I know 1 thing for sure.......... YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!!

  • great video R.I.P 96 You'll Never Walk Alone <3

  • I'm not english and I really wanna know what really happened in 1989, can anyone of you tell me?

  • @RollChaos the yorkshire police force wouldnt open gates and let ambulances on the pitch, from the police ignorant decisions, for giveing liverpool fans the smallest stand with the biggest support and giveing nottingham forest the biggest stand with a far less traveling support, the was warning signs at previous semis at hillsborough but they turned a blind eye, we will never give up until we have justice, 96 kopite brothers and sisters gone, but never forgotton....RIP

  • YNWA

  • Trust Graham Beakcroft to besermirch Liverpool supporters "the worst for wear" "forged tickets" - and he calls himself a Liverpool supporter disgusting

  • the little boy in 1.08 looks like hes dead too, he only looks about 10. I wonder if that was Steven Gerrard's cousin.

  • the same month of my birth...

  • anyone else notice the asian guy in the picture at 1:08,top left? he looks pretty calm

  • @KrayzieDA

    Yeah thats really strange.

Although pics can be deceiving sometimes

  • @KrayzieDA he looks dead to me...

  • If the song wasn't playing it would be alot easier to hear what the commentator is saying.

  • Doing this for drama everytime i perform i end up crying RIP you'll never walk alone

  • @razliles

Heyy, yeh for our A Level piece we devised a play called 'six minutes', I found it very upsetting too. This video was played on a big projector at the end, the only reason I put it on youtube was to show the other guys! Wasn't expecting so many views! Hope your performances went well!

  • @razliles

  • R I P x

  • I was referring to the lady in the dark coat...is that the one we are talking about ?

  • @spanishlemon101 are you sure!

  • Impossible to accept seeing so many people dieing in that way.

Hope the guilties never sleep until the end of time.

    R.I.P.

    JFT96.

  • over 700 were injured :| not over 400.

  • R.I.P.96.margaret the witch told bernard ingham that the police must never be blamed.Rot in Hell Thatcher you witch.Rot in Hell Duckinfield and Rot in hell Kelvin Mackenzie and all you other Sun shit.

  • @redman2209 Read the Taylor report. Nuff said.

  • RIP. Such a horrendous police cover-up, that even includes the senior officer admitting he lied, has left the world thinking that Liverpool fans were somehow to blame.

If you want to know the real 'truth' of that day, then I urge you to read professor Phil Scraton's book. Hillsborough, the Trusth.

  • So, so sad,,,, God bless the 96 - You`ll Never Walk Alone.

  • omg the pic at 1.08 is so scary. it really tells u the story of just how bad it was that day... those poor girls i hope they got out .thats a shocking scene ..rip all.

  • @lwm1stps I've a horrible feeling that the girl on the bottom left was already close to death if I remember the newspaper pictures.I hope I'm wrong.

  • @benlu123 yes so terrible never seen anything like those pics in my life...

  • @benlu123 yes you are wrong, thankfully she did survive and I saw her being interviewed on the Cook Report programme, covering the distaster. So we can be thankful for one tiny bit of good news.

  • @benlu123 which picture was that!

  • @MegaMissymee Approx at 1.05.I think the girl in the dark coat on the left with her eyes closed.I think she died.

  • @lwm1stps There is one tiny bit of good news. I saw another documentary about the disaster and the lady just to the left of the picture, (next to the lady in the dark coat), did survive and she was being interviewed. Not sure about any of the others but if I find anything out I'll post on here.

  • @pammyb1972 aww god bless her cant imagine what they went through that awful day.. thanks 4 the info ...

  • @lwm1stps they wouldn't of cause they would of been suffercated to death and squished

  • @Bethan511 they would,nt of what??

  • @lwm1stps the girl in the middle got out, she is interviewed on the cook report -hope for hillsborough documentary which is on youtube. Sadly, i don't know anything about the other 2 but i'm sure the girl on the right got out as i recall it making the papers. Justice for the 96 - from a Newcastle supporter.
