  • What is the issue issue with the "dead man shell"? I have heard it will drop shells. Also how much is the +2 cartridge? Great review man---seriously the best review I have seen period.

  • I just bought this gun it should be arriving at my local FFL in another day or two. It will be my second pump shotgun to go along with my Mossberg 590 A1. Can't wait for this to arrive the only two pump shotguns I have wanted were the 590 A1 and the Supernova tactical.

  • @Rawdog550 Congrats! Youre gonna love it!!!

  • Good review. I have my eye on one of these. How much do they run?

  • @freeze427 About the $400 range depending where you are in America?

  • How does this compare to your mossberg?

  • @L1NG4N If you are referring to the Mossberg 500 it is definitely a higher quality pump shotgun. But in the grand scheme of things it doesnt really do anything different than a $150 used Mossberg 500. Its just a preference and has a few nice features. Its pretty expensive but worth it if you like the features and have some cash to burn. At the end of the day its still just a pump shotgun. Granted its a very nice pump shotgun.

  • My Nova (not a supernova) is a 7+1. My original mag was 4 and the extension gave me 3 more.

  • I thought the super nova came with the comfort tech stock?

  • @jamgabem It does. The stock in this video is a comfort tech stock. You can tell by the little chevron shaped rubber inserts in the buttstock.

  • Best gun review I've seen yet online. Bravo!

  • Hey mix flip i just bought one of these and love it but was wondering what kind of slugs will it shot or do i have to change the barrel? thx

  • @jpunch You can shoot all kinds of slugs. stick with the common hollow point rifled slug. Just because its called a rifled slug does not mean you need a rifled barrel. That a big misconception for new guys. You can shoot pretty much anything as long as you have a cylinder bore shotgun. That just means its straight all the way through. No choke at the end like bird hunting shotguns have. Sabot slugs are the only ones you shouldnt shoot. They need rifling to spin them properly.

  • That shell button is more for putting a three and a half in while duck hunting your kinda paranoid bud.

  • @butterbean3932 Hate to break it to ya bud but this aint no duck hunting shotgun hence the name SuperNova "Tactical". Who hunts with ghost ring sights and an 18" barrel that you know of? There is a difference between paranoid and prepared. Your kinda naive to world events bud.

  • @butterbean3932

    Hilarious dude,

Do you bring flash grenades when you go out duck hunting with a tactical shotgun equipped with and 18.5 inch barrel? If you have a weapon that fires everything from 2 3/4 inch shells up to 3 1/2 shells, it makes perfect sense that a shooter might encounter a situation where he'd prefer to open the action, block the next round from cycling out of the mag tube, and chamber a more appropriate round. It's about practicality - not paranoia.

  • @butterbean3932

Guess what, Einstein? This is a review of a tactical shotgun, not a waterfowl gun. That's why it's called the Benelli Super Nova Tactical. That's why it has ghost ring sights. That's why it only has an 18.5 inch barrel. You can keep insisting this is a waterfowl gun, but it's clearly not.

According to your logic, Benelli only makes waterfowl guns, so the Marines must be using the Benelli M4 to hunt ducks in Afghanistan, right? Yeah that makes sense.

  • @butterbean3932

Do you have A.D.D? What the fuck don't you understand about this video? This is NOT a review of a Benelli Nova. This is a review of a Benelli Super Nova Tactical 12 gage. Get it? You started all this shit when you ranted about how the shell stop button was so u could drop in a "goose load." Anybody with any sense has pointed out that only an asshole like you would go out hunting waterfowl with an 18.5 inch barrel, no choke, and ghost rings. Fuck you.

  • @butterbean3932

I've been following this pissing match, and now it's totally clear that you're a total fuck head. This isn't even a nova shotgun. It's a super nova. And Benelli is known for their tactical weapons at least as much as they are known for their hunting guns. Do you really not know that benelli got the contract for the military's new close quarters combat shotgun?

    P.S.

No matter how many times you type the word "waterfowl," you're still gonna be wrong.

  • I haven't found a dealer in North America who can tell me when they're going to get this gun in this same configuration. One dealer told me there's some being shipped, but that might take 90 days to get through customs, and maybe something close to the configuration I want will be in the shipment. Also, he said the price might be higher because of demand. I called Benelli directly, but it seemed like nobody could give me a concrete answer, so fuck 'em. I'll stick with Remington or Mossberg.

  • @domco2525 Sorry to hear that. Good luck.

  • @mixflip

Yeah, it's a shame. I shot that Supernova with the ComfortTech stock and the ghost rings, and I knew then and there I needed to have that gun. It's just frustrating when I have the cash in hand, and there's not a dealer anywhere who has one, or can even give me any kind of time frame as to when they'll get one. I wish I'd never shot that gun in the first place because I'd be perfectly content with an 870 or a 590 A1 if I hadn't.

  • i dont dig the nova series..... benelli makes nearly unjammable semis but when it comes to pumps id stick with an old 870 wingmaster configuration

  • @deusredeemer I hear ya. When it comes to pumps it really is a preference thing more so than one shotgun performing leaps and bounds better than another. They all make big holes in their target pretty reliably if you do your part. Its the features and details and ergonomics that should guide your your decision. I qualified on both Mossbergs & Remingtons over the years (in the military and as a state cop) and I have gravitated to the Mossbergs just because of the dual extractors and tang safety.

  • @mixflip This was a great review, Very informative and answers everything i've been wonderin' 'bout,, Thank you,, But how would it act with a 12Ga 3" slug?, does it have a fully rifled barrel? See i'm plannin' on buyin' a shotgun that does it all, Up to 3 1/2" magnum shells to rifled slug....what would you recommend?

  • @thesabrix Well, to be honest, if you want a do it all shotgun you might be better off with a field combo gun that comes with an 18" Home Defense barrel and a 26" hunting barrel. Mossberg sells combo guns fairly cheap. The Benelli is more of a dedicated fighting gun with its ghost ring sights and shell select button. Also you dont need a rifled barrel to shoot rifled slugs (its confusing I know). You dont want a rifled barrel unless you plan on shooting sabot slugs for hunting.

  • Did yours come with the ghost ring sights? or did ya buy 'em separately?

  • @Privat3Kag3 They came with the shotgun.

  • the tacstar mag extension actually gave me 7+1 capacity

  • Ever have any problems with the Rotary Bolt?

  • @Privat3Kag3 No problems at all. If anything a 3 lug rotating bolt is a superior design which is what is used in many combat rifles like the M16, M14, M1 Garand just to name a few.

  • @mixflip Thanks for the Quick response, & I am WELL aware of that, but just wondering.

  • @mixflip m-16 has 7 locking lugs, garand has two, just to name a few

  • @Levicard088 LOL yeah I know. I should have been more specific. What I meant was that it has "multiple" locking lugs vs the single locking lug of most traditional shotguns.

  • Awesome review man, what are your views on using it for trap shooting?

  • Hey mix tks for this video very helpful as always I had my benelli nova in the safe. Once I saw this video I had to dig it out. Think I'm gonna take it to the range tomorrow. I haven't shot 3 1/2 threw mine yet but I'm sure it's gonna kick like a mule. Lol tks again

  • @308bushmaster Glad to be of help. Thanks for watching.

  • Is the safety button and the slide release ambidextrous? Lefties have to consider these things.

    Great vid. thanks

  • @gomertube Unfortunately the safety button is not ambidextrous. I think only Mossberg makes an ambi style safety button with it being on the top of the tang? The slide release isnt technically ambi but its in front of the trigger guard where a lefty could reach it fairly easy I would think?

  • awesome man, thanks for your help and quick reply.

  • whats up mix, I just picked up my first shotgun tonight. It is a Benelli SN Tac with pistol grip. Your video helped me make up my mind. But like I said, im a new owner and having a little trouble. I have 2 3/4 shells and I can only load 2, but yours and other reviews from 4 up. Is there something i'm doing wrong? Even manual says 4 3" shells. Any info well help, thanks

  • @repentandfaith Sounds like you have a "plug" in your magazine tube. Its common many shotguns to have a plug limiter to make it legal to go bird hunting. Just disassemble the bun (watch my video if you need help) and simply remove the plug and reassemble. Good luck. Also make sure you buy some loctite and secure the nuts and bolts of your sights or they will vibrate off and you will lose $100 worth of ghost ring sights like I did.

  • excellent shout gun men!

  • Very nice review How is that gun holding up? and is it easy to take appart and clean..Also what kinda of money did that weapon cost..good job

  • @3255959

    Its rock solid.

Its super easy to field strip, I have a field strip video of it on my youtube channel.

It costs about $449 for the tactical model with the ghost ring sights.

    Thanks for watching

  • @mixflip I like the pistol grip black version would add mag tube... like the features..shock abosorbing stock and the ability to manually load different load with mag full ...

    thanks

  • Buy American. Support our country and our troops.

  • @journeyquest1 I do most of the time. And I also buy what is a good value and what I like. Sadly our clothes, our food or cars and most of the things we use at work are probably made in a foreign country whether you like it or not. The computer (or the parts inside) that you type "buy American" on is probably made in Asia somewhere...like Japan or China.

  • I'm new to guns but I want to get one before the government take that right away from us. dont care for hand guns always wanted to a shotgun. My coworker always said someone breaking into your house hearing that pump sound will probably think twice. Thanks for helpful review.

  • You also convinced me to buy a supernova 12 gauge with a rifled 24" barrel with a comfortech stock. Great gun. Great review.

  • @spharper05 Lol, I wish I got kick backs from Benelli? Glad to be of help. Thats the beauty of youtube. Great way to do research.

  • Great video, thanks for all the details about the gun!

  • Great job with the review. I was undecided between the 870 and the Supernova. Benelli is the obvious choice. Thank you for the info.

  • @jjoefsh01 Glad to help.

  • These are sold on regular ffl dealers.

  • Also, one of the main reasons I purchased this Shotgun was because of it's ability to use 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2 inch shells. Now no matter what situation I know I will be able to use what ever rounds I find

  • I bought the Supernova Tactical with pistol grip. I love it, I use it over my Mossberg 500. It is a great quality gun with low recoil. Best $500 I ever spent.

  • good for anti New world order enforcements that try to come and take our God given constitutional gun rights away! every house and next d0or neighbor needs one!

  • @O8ZERVA both front and rear sling swivels are built into the gun. No need to buy aftermarket ones.

  • @mixflip Hey as a military veteran are you allowed to purchase certain guns that civillians cant. Im a military vet myself just wondering.

  • @lnclincoln No, (as far as I know) all standard federal and state laws apply wether you are a veteran or not. No special deals for us vets. Now if you are a vet that works for a special agency then maybe you could buy a machine gun under the agency's creds but that has nothing to do with being a veteran.

  • @mixflip alright thanks man.i was thinking of buying this shotgun and came across your review. very nice keep up the good work.

  • I RUINED THE ZERO DISLIKE >:D MAOHAAHAA

  • Not a good feature for a shorter guy

  • I have an older Mossberg 500. Your right about the dead space. I'm not that big and my arm has like 3 inches on the rack.

  • Man I wish I saw this vid before I bought my Mossberg 500 :(

  • @voodazz For the record, I still want a simple plain jane old school 500. If I can find one used for cheap im adding it to the shotgun collection.

  • @voodazz

For what it's worth, I passed up a deal on a used Nova for $300 and got a 500 Persuader instead. Did not like the Nova all that much.

  • @Immortal91Technique I own a Persuader too and I love my gun, nice and simple and easy to shoot and I don't plan on every giving it up, but I really like the shell stop feature of the Nova. That would have come in handy in a couple of situations.

  • Great review man!

  • @dynoflow The NOVA cannot have a pistol grip stock. At least I dont think? I always thought the NOVA had a built in stock that is integrated into the receiver which makes it impossible to have a pistol grip? Unless its a model that was built from the factory with a pistol grip stock that I just didnt know about? You can tell the models apart by the shape of the trigger guard. The super will have a sharp angle shape while the NOVA will be rounded.

  • Hey Mixflip, good to see you got a new camera. A review of your new camera would be cool. Sorry if it seemed like a complaint though. Just subscribed.

  • @mintyfresh001 Thanks for the sub. I am always open to criticism and I dont take offense if someone points out something that needs to be fixed. Audio is a big deal and it drives me crazy myself when I watch a good video with bad audio. I'll make a review of my new Kodak Zi8 HD pocket camera since it is pretty awesome. Stay tuned for some Shot Show video at the end of the month.

  • Hi, thanks for the great video. What sling are you using?

    Thanks,

  • @filetitan Its just a standard no frills nylon sling I got at a gun show if I remember right?

  • @filetitan

Many thanks a great video =)

  • Great Video,I was wanting to purchase the Mossberg 590a1,but after a lot of research and watching the vid's,I have changed my mind,i want to get the Supernova with the comfortech stock.

And this shotgun is sexy looking in it's own way...thanks man !

  • @fuok69 Your welcome, glad to help. Feel free to check out the rest of my channel and subscribe if you like what you see?

  • @mixflip Hi, excellent video. I was wondering what your opinion would be on getting either the pistol grip or without? Does this essentially increase the moblility?

  • @Kairsofter21 Its very subjective and what works for me may not be right for you and vice versa. I actually dont prefer to have a pistol grip on pumps since my support hand is doing work. I like to keep both working hands moving along the same plane. With a pistol grip, one hand is moving back "above" the plan of the firing hand which takes your sight alignment more off target for follow up shots. At least thats my theory lol. I kinda cover that theory in the part 2 video I believe?

  • Thanks, really found your video helpful. I just bought my new Benelli SuperNova but with a '28 barrel. I think the shorter barrel that you have would be better for me. What's your opinion on the longer vs. the shorter??

  • @lovebug94925 For hunting and clay pigeon type use you really need the longer barrel. You'll still be able to drop a home invader with it which will statistically be a rare occasion but you have issues with mobility of course. You can still get the job done with a hunting gun. Benelli barrels arent cheap. Good luck finding an 18" barrel. You might want to see how much it would cost to have a gunsmith cut yours down professionally? Or just do it yourself if you really feel the need to have one?

  • good review! prob going to get a benelli over a mossberg or remington now!

  • Nice review. Very thorough

    Thanks

  • Nice vid. Also, liked your Mossberg 930spx. Not sure if you noticed or not but the mic on the camcorder shuts down whenever there's a loud sound it picks up and this makes it difficult to hear what you're saying for the next 5 seconds. Like cycling the action will shut down the mic for 5 seconds.

  • @mintyfresh001 yeah, I got alot of complaints about my old cameras audio quality so I went out and bought a Kodak Zi8 1080p pocket camera. Most of my new vids are all hi-def now with better sound. I should make a review video on that new camera?

  • @mixflip Hey Mixflip, good to see you got a new camera. A review of your new camera would be cool. Sorry if it seemed like a complaint though. Just subscribed.

  • If you want to find a magazine extension go to midwayusa

  • will a tactical barrel fit on a field model????

  • I think you need the slug barrel to shoot slugs with the Ben SuperN

  • @Bonedaddy500 Nope, rifled slugs are meant to be shot out of non-rifled barrels. Sabot slugs need a rifled shotgun barrel to stabilze the sabot slug.

  • @mixflip really? I just bought this gun today (the pistol grip version) and the guy behind the counter told me I needed the Slug Barrel in order to shoot slugs....can you confirm this somehow? I don't wanna f**k the gun up

  • @playwithmywii I live in Wisconsin and deer hunt with a shotgun. You do not need a rifled slug barrel to deer hunt although they are better (cost of shells are more). If you use a smooth bore make sure you are using the correct slugs.

  • Very nice, I'm in love with mine, and I love shooting 100 yard targets with slugs. Great friggen choice

  • Hello, i found your review very helpful. I just bought a Benelli Supernova Tactical, and still haven't gone shooting it, but i have a question, i have been dry firing it and if i´m pulling back on the pump handle after a shoot it doesn't slide back, i have do let it go forward a little so it slides back. If i don't pull the pump handle back it slides just fine, but when i'm pulling it doesn't go anywhere.

    Is this normal??

    Thanks

  • @osbacalhaus During live fire it will slide back easily as you can see in my range video. Its always easier to make a full opinion on a gun after some actual range time with it. Good choice in shotguns btw.

  • whats the barrel length on that one?

  • @haus05 18"

  • That was a really concise and thorough review of the Super Nova. I'm contemplating purchasing a used one, as our local sheriff may be selling his. The only time it was ever fired was when it blew a hole through the roof of his patrol car several years ago as he put it in his rack. Made the local news. (And he has a say in who gets to have a gun?) Nonetheless, I thank you for an excellent review!

  • Excellent review!

  • you spent $500???? good lord got mine with the pistol grip for $350, by far the most fun gun i own

  • @zie24 I guess prices vary from state to state? I have never seen a Benelli SuperNova Tactical for $350 anywhere so I guess you got lucky?

  • @mixflip I wish I could find one for 350 I would buy it in a heartbeat...

  • Wasn't it painful to kneel down for 9 minutes just to do a review?

  • thanks for uploading!! =)

  • I got my super nova today. Great for the money. I want the rail for the top so I can scope it for slugging. Don't forget the cryo treated barrel. Good vid, great Gun. I traded my FNH police tac shotty in on that Gun. The FNH was good but it didn't fit me nearly as well as the Benelli.

  • the winchester is the 1300 speed pump

  • the winchester you talked about is the 1300 speed pump

  • the winchester is the 1300 speed pump

  • that shit was scary when you pointed it at the camera. shivers went down my spin. a shotgun is a frightening weapon haha.

  • darn, when you saida it was out of battery I was scrolling down hoping somebody would say that gun run's on batteries?

  • I own a Benelli supernova with a 28" barrel i use for hunting and trap shooting and it is the best pump i have ever owned and it's has digested thousands of rounds without a glitch.Safe shooting and keep the vids coming

  • @AMJTCB how much did you pay for the supernova?

  • i was looking on google for the top pump action and Benelli SuperNova came #1 and your video helped my know why thank you great video !!

  • @sargon08 No problem. Its all relative to your needs and wants I guess? $500 is alot of money for a home defense shotgun. A $150 Mossberg 500 will do the exact same job just a well. But if you have the money and you know you really want the Benelli features then it is a shotgun choice of a lifetime. It still has its weaknesses there is no such thing as a perfect weapon. You will love it I am sure.

  • I have a benelli supper nova with pistol grip on it and I fully love it great vids!!!

  • Good Vid...thanx dude

  • I have the Collapsible stock for the supernova for sale if interested ?

  • @777antoine I WANT IT!!!!!

  • Hey man, Cool new gun. Looking at a new 8-shot Mossberg Persuader myself. Has the pistol grip carbon fiber furniture on it, for $289 brand new. Be good for beside the bed, have a 6-shot model there now. I know you'll enjoy your new Super Nova. Nice guns. Have a goodin and Happy Shooting, yf, kdwoodjr.

  • Very nice!

  • One or two pumps at least. Redundancy. 5 stars dude. Steve
