  • OMG! I don't have a face...so I really need a mask, right?

  • @PicassoStar1 I think you have a beautiful face

  • Aww! Thank you! You made my day. I need to make a masquerade mask for my Art project at school. Any extra tips?

  • @TheLithiumFlower Yes here's my tip, just have fun with it plus make two of them at the same time and make them completly different so you have choices!

  • @TheHandyGoddess Thank you for the tip! I was just wondering, would it be safe to make a full face mask?

  • @TheLithiumFlower as long as you leave room to breath. Or how about putting tin foil over your face to create a form and then take it off and see if you can paper mache that without having it on your face. Best of luck

  • bravissima.....

  • @fodeco35 Thank you for saying so ; )

  • Thanks Handy Goddess! Making a mask today because you taught me how.

  • @hondorama Yah let me know how it turns out!

  • She was clearly horny #Craftgasm

  • @ziggyswagg I love the new word you've created there!

  • Thank you for the video but I have a question. Would the casting material be strong enough to hold the weight of a light clay? I.e. porcelain or air dry clay?

  • @gearsofwarcraft1 It's the same stuff they make plaster casts from so I'd have to say yes.

  • Ohh wow! She's sooo sooo soo peppy! There needs to be more peppy people in the world. And I love it!!

  • @wolfcookieo9 Thank you for your concern for my health ; )

  • What type of paint is best to use on the plaster? Thanks!

  • @PanicaAlice Any waterbase paint will work just make sure you prime the plaster before you paint!

  • hi it seems kind of easy but how much vaseline do you use

  • @btrdoggie A nice thin layer will do ; )

  • could i use flour

  • @heshamaz09 I like the plaster casting strips because it makes it easy and strong!

  • You can take sand paper and lightly sand it to make it smooth and more comfortable.

  • @eurenton99 Good poin and you can add plain plaster of paris on top for an easy sand.

  • at my school we are making masks for the rio festival and your idea helped us do it so thank you but i was looking at what else you do and the s chair was a bit inapropriate so mabye take that off cos no one makes tht so ok just take it off and the world will be a better place

  • @xxBrittxxSadiexx It's really just a chase lounge chair. I apologize if you find the subject offenisive.

  • @TheHandyGoddess what is a s chair?

  • this helped me so much with my assignment, i study make up and we have to make al sorts of different masks this term i had no idea how i was going to shape it by hand

    thank u ur amazing

  • @lanzzxoxo Your're welcome, I'm happy to pass on some inspiration!

  • This was great!! I'm looking for mask ideas for prom, totally excited to combine all the ideas I have found!

  • @kristadrummond I'm glad to hear it and I'd love to see the results!

  • I'm making mask's in art in 2 days =) Today we designed how we wanted it to look, and in 2 days we're actually making it! I'm really excited it seems like lots of fun to make one =)

  • @ChantelPaige2232 Sounds great, let me know how your mask turns out!

  • thanks so much :)

  • hey i would like to make a rather japanese mask with quite alot of detail.i was wondering if there is any way to make the surface of the mask smooth?

or do i just use paper mache instead?

  • @mercybrkr you could try just plain plaster of paris on the top layers to make it smooth. Good luck and let me know how it turns out ; )

  • That's really great! When I was younger, I took an art class and we made masks with gauze like you did, but we molded the gauze to balloons to shape the faces. Your method is so much better as it makes a custom fit and looks much nicer. I love the way you painted it in gold and silver. Now you can be a sun goddess too!

  • @jenzeppelin Thank you and I love being a sun goddess ; )

  • what stores can u get that stuff? (specifics)

  • @vatopr Go to art stores in the sculpture section for the gauze or a medical supply store. Make some calls it should be pretty easy to find.

  • Always amazing stuff here...

  • Great job dearest the mask adds to your intro really well. Masks always remind me of Venice which i have been to and highly recommend - so full of character and beauty just like you.xxxxx

p.s You must bring out the best in me because sometimes i am a shocker on the comments on the internet!

  • @kenonifty I love that I bring out the best in you. Thanks for the lovely comments ; )

  • What a COOL Idea!!! Gosh, but you make this stuff so EASY.. :)) The finished Silver/Gold Mask looked UBER Groovy!!!!

  • GOOD JOB

  • A fun and practical video. Really great job of putting it together.

  • Is that how Batman did it?

  • very nice job Barb! ' My mind is seeing some very interesting ideas with this stuff. ;-)

keep up the good work. 5 *****

  • Would love to see a bust of your bust.....

  • @breadbaker226 Ok that will be my next video ; )

  • Love the way you give it a go.....

  • I haven't messed with plasters since grade school. It was fun then and I bet it's still fun! Great work!

  • Alright.... a Plaster Caster

    I like your vids.

  • Great idea! I've never seen that plaster gauze before, and I have such a big head that I can't find masks to fit ready made. Problem solved!

  • @raindog951 I used to do this type of stuff over balloons and styrofoam when I was kid all the time. You can find the material in art stores or medical supply stores. Have fun ; )

  • @raindog951 Michael's Arts & Crafts sells it. :)

  • @pinkbubbagum Thank you, unfortunately I live in the UK, which probably hasn't got the same stores :-( I'll try and order some online though, that's the only way to get useful stuff in the UK. Compared to the US we're way behind in this area.

  • A very fun little project to try. It offers quite a few possibilities for masks. Glad that lovely face of yours was covered for just a moment. What's the story about all your casts?

  • @TroublesomeJames You are so sweet. I just broke a leg and arm in a car accident then the other leg skiing and then I had scoliosis back surgery when I was a teenager. But I feel great

  • Awesome project.

  • I have done this before, but i went over mine with sandpaper to remove all the bumps.

Your mask turned out better than mine.

  • This is an excelent video, I might try this with stuntman :)

    Peace, ace77man

  • @ace77man That would be easier yes do it.

  • This is a great video! I will try this with my son! I told the wife this would be a great kids party idea!! Thanks 4 sharing! Thumbs up!!

  • very cool VID.... WOW great it is pure... art thanks..

  • @georgiahoosier I do like to get into my work ; )
