Is there any way to make the camera, not to folow the target and keep stedy in the cockpit HUD display? Please help me...

@Alexiskayak - The normal view is the straight ahead view. F1 should do the trick.

@greendaylover12345 - Nope. Wish I had it though! There is a key you can program to your stick that will let you lock your camera view onto any enemy vehicle within five miles.

@cs512tr - I did not have my ACLS lock on. It actually doesn't work on modern computers. It has something to do with processor speed and that modern CPUs are too fast for the ACLS lock on to auto land you and you'll bolter every time. I would love to fly and as soon as I get a reliable internet connection I will be back online. My skills have eroded very badly though as I haven't "flown" in almost two years. Thanks for the compliment though!

@cs512tr - Out of curiosity, do you ever try to get with the VFA 41 guys when you're on HL? They are really a great bunch of guys. They're my former squadron that I'll rejoin when I can fly again on a consistent basis.

to be honest, i mainly sim with my mate direct - tcp and recently got into using hl. especially for IL2 etc

@cs512tr - Not to beat a dead horse, but those guys fly Pacific Fighters too which as you know is IL2's brother sim for the Pacific theater. Just sayin' :)

@cs512tr - I will most definitely take you up on your offer as soon as I have a good connection. If you ever see the VFA 41 guys in HL you should try to fly with them. They use Ventrilo for comms last time I checked but they're a great bunch to fly with. You should hit them up if you see them. I didn't know that about the ACLS, see I guess I learn something every day. Anyway, thanks for the invite and good hunting.

yes the manual is a bit big, it simulates perfectly the F/A-18 weapons system but believe me its not that hard =D

I don't remember the default, but it's the PDLK_THREAT command. You can look where it's mapped by pulling up the keyboard and using the views filter. PM me if you need more help.

Stupid question guys:

I was playing the game recently and hit some button that allowed me to visually track my target automatically. No matter how I turned the plane, my view stayed centered on the bandit. WHAT DID I PRESS? Please tell me because it would be nice not to have to micromanage the hat button.

@calderwis F2 to view friendlies, F3 to view enemies. You can view missiles, too.

Also, you can get an external view that looks at your enemies by pressing another "F" button. I think it's F6, or one of the ones around it.

By now you've proobably figured it out now, tho.

You ain't lying. I had to stop playing this for a few months and when I started back up again, I had all kinds of trouble. I only play once a week or so and I haven't gotten my "groove" back so to speak. It's a skill that goes away quickly when it's not practiced. Have you flown it recently and if so, how's landing now?
