  • You play the main riff a little differently than Louis I think, but that's fine, because you're not Louis. Even though it's a pretty straight cover, it feels like you made it your own! Good job! Keep funkin'!

  • great job

  • Collards Greens WITHOUT THE HOT SAUCE!!! KEEP TRYING!

  • white boy yous a bad muthafucka..........

  • What the funk?!? Great stuff!

  • Love your videos....Enjoy your playing. I have the same bass and I love the tone and feel! Thanks for your posts! What brand and gauge of strings do you use?

  • As always, great job! This is another one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • Serviceable effort, but that's not truly an accurate reproduction, brother. Playalong... yeah , that bass solo break was sloppy as all get out. Check out Funkstar650's tight bassline. Marlowe DK had a good one too. Tata996 needs to listen to the original Louis Johnson bassline again, it's not clean and it IS improvised. True bass funkateer!

  • Where do you learn it? by ear or tabs? I can only by tabs but its hard to find good tabs to any song :(

  • pretty good, what about some SHALAMAR, or IAN DURY.

  • Man thats great! Just some friendly advice: Smile and at least look like your having fun :)

  • great, im gonna get off my ass and find the missing gear and learn thing song. u have such a great sound and u r playing this song perfectly. no gaps and no showing off. inspiring.

  • that's funky!

  • Cheers mate. That means a lot :-)

  • Great job playing it clean. I'm sick of those jackasses who improvise and add all kinds of pretentious "look at me!" riffs. Well done!

  • Glad you enjoyed my version. Thanks

  • you made me love this song!

  • Great. Cheers!

  • @MrDamo123 Same here, haha! Next on the list to mess around with.

  • Bravo! I love this song!

  • Me too! thanks for the comment.

  • Smile Man! You are groovin' this song out!

Awesome job. I recently bought a Fender marcus Miller Jazz Bass and can't wait to try this song out on it.

    Any fretless funk?

  • Cheers for the comment. Yeah your right, I should remember to smile :-)

No fretless funk as yet but who knows

  • keep the hits coming Damo!

  • Nice, so effortless it annoys me how people like you just can do it

    is that a mexican jazz?

  • Hang on, i've just checked out your stuff and its great. wish I could have played like that at your age :-)

  • Oh, almost forgot. Yes, its a Mexican 70's reissue. The main difference of the 70's version is the treble pickup being much closer to the bridge for a bit more crispness.

  • great one,louis johnson is still playin;

    keep the funk alive.

    GREETZ

  • sweet!

  • Nice one...good solo in the middle

  • Nice laid back funk!
