This could be true, but the problem I have is the sight picture from 300 plus yards. The Glock is sighted-in for about 25 yards. This means to hit something 300 yards away you would have to aim above it which means you would not have anything to aim at. You were on a slight hill, so this would help this problem a bit, but my question to the poster of the video is, what was your sight picture?

I went shooting just a few days ago and hit a steel gong at 350 meters with my bone stock XD9 service pistol. Hit it on my second shot and my first shot only missed by a couple feet. I was just shooting standard 115gr hand loads.. I think anyone can do this if they practice..

It's possible, I suppose. What bothers me is that while we were presented a 10mm Glock, we did not see the shooter ACTUALLY SHOOTING. We see the gun before, hear 'A GUN', and then take a trip to the target. I'd like to see the shooter replicate this and be firing 'in camera'. Also, an open field, and perhaps laser range finder verification. I want to believe, but I am skeptical.

@30roundmags True, but on the 2nd-to-last shot you can see the bullet strike the dirt beneath. Also, they're shooting a four foot target, which at 352 is over 13 MOA. A well-built pistol can shoot four, and with proper loads you can squeeze out 3MOA, but these tests are usually at 50 yards. At this range the ballistics of pistol rounds go to crap, but it's perfectly believable that three of ten shots hit. Even if the bottom one richoted in, we can shift all the shots up and make them fit.
This is also pretty simple to do and wasn't even that impressive. The majority that doubt have never even tried it. Never say impossible what you have never tried. Then you are defeated before you even try!

Meh not very impressive since he probably sighted in for this range before turning on the camera. Time would be better spent trying short range moving targets rather than trying to use a handgun to do a rifle's job.
Very nice shooting. Unlike most people, it doesn't surprise me that those shots made it out that far. Or that you hit a buoy with a .45 at just over 300 yards. A full size .45 ACP pistol for example, may only be accurate to about 50 yards in the hands of an average person. But, that bullet can/will fly down range to about 1,500-1,600 feet before it drops out of the air.
For those who might be too dense to understand, or those who've played COD to much -- 50 yards, 150 feet; 300 yards, 900 feet.

@73truthseeker If you can't tell those holes were not there before you are not watching in 480p. It's pretty clear. Look at the lower one that struck paint. That one is very easy to see... NO hole. Myth un-busted.

This is really nothing he only hit the target 3 times and probably grouped larger than 6 ft. He showed nothing but basic marksman ship. It took 3 times to dial in elevation. My wife could do it........He basically shot a 1 foot group at 50 yards, at best.

The trajectory would be difficult to figure out, but i can shoot a target at 100 yards with my daddy's 1911 .45. @jd426999 A keyhole is when the bullet turns end over end and creates a keyhole like puncture in the target. This is usually caused when the bullet loses stability from either loss of velocity (what tends to happen when the bullet travels a long distance) or the barrel rifling isn't appropriate to the bullet weight. Just an FYI.

@30roundmags True, but on the 2nd-to-last shot you can see the bullet strike the dirt beneath. Also, they're shooting a four foot target, which at 352 is over 13 MOA. A well-built pistol can shoot four, and with proper loads you can squeeze out 3MOA, but these tests are usually at 50 yards. At this range the ballistics of pistol rounds go to crap, but it's perfectly believable that three of ten shots hit. Even if the bottom one richoted in, we can shift all the shots up and make them fit.

This is far from an illegal act people. And for the comments about us rednecks not being able to afford a range, well this is my private property. The road that I paved, dead ends at that far tree line and has 150 acres of hardwood behind it! If anyone is hit by my shooting, they would be trespassing, and at there own risk.

Very nice shooting. Unlike most people, it doesn't surprise me that those shots made it out that far. Or that you hit a buoy with a .45 at just over 300 yards. A full size .45 ACP pistol for example, may only be accurate to about 50 yards in the hands of an average person. But, that bullet can/will fly down range to about 1,500-1,600 feet before it drops out of the air.
For those who might be too dense to understand, or those who've played COD to much -- 50 yards, 150 feet; 300 yards, 900 feet.

at 100 yards i have shot 4 inch groups with a iron sight out of a hkmp5 94 9mm and wolf ammo just screwing around, just the fact that the round makes it that far isnt hard to believe just dial elevation and kgo :) looked like fun tho i could cut the orange dot out with my pss tho ;-)

This is really nothing he only hit the target 3 times and probably grouped larger than 6 ft. He showed nothing but basic marksman ship. It took 3 times to dial in elevation. My wife could do it........He basically shot a 1 foot group at 50 yards, at best.

The trajectory would be difficult to figure out, but i can shoot a target at 100 yards with my daddy's 1911 .45. And 8 years experience in the Marine Corps Scout/Sniper community has taught me that crazy shit can happen if you practice.

@jd426999 A keyhole is when the bullet turns end over end and creates a keyhole like puncture in the target. This is usually caused when the bullet loses stability from either loss of velocity (what tends to happen when the bullet travels a long distance) or the barrel rifling isn't appropriate to the bullet weight. Just an FYI.

But as I recall he said our soldiers also liked this combo at close range, because it made a heck of a wound when the bullet essentially TUMBLED in ripped flesh apart rather than making a clean hole.

While the bad most likely is returning fire from a AK47 popping off 7.62 which is very similar to the 30-06, which just happens to be the same cartridge that took out one of the largest Grizzly's on record. What's sad is the apparent lack of firearms knowledge possessed by the Internet Generation & Europeans. Anyone who's regularly used a large caliber handgun knows that this is not only possible but not even particularly difficult with a bit of practice. I suspect many in the cities and suburbs simply don't have a place that they could even try this.

@mmc786 Switzerland has a very low homicide/crime rate and allows guns to be kept for the purpose of a militia. The guns are not the problem, being as guns are inanimate objects. A person's intent with the firearm is the issue. USA has high crime/homicide rates because we do not punish our criminals to the extent that they should be. Once we fix that problem, I'd wager guns would no longer be on the chopping block.

A firearm might make murder that much easier, but it still takes a person to make that decision. A few months back there was a string of murders in China that people were committing with bladed weapons, should they start restricting kitchenware? Gun restriction is not the answer to the problem you mentioned. Actually punishing our criminals needs to be the first step.
