  • Thank you for this nostalgia. We experienced so many rich experiences growing up in the early 50's. There's nothing like playing in the cable car barn, racing down the hills sitting on a single roller skate, or "living" at the Rec Center, Chinese Playground and/or YMCA. I can smell the grease of the cable car tracks and the sweet smell of the beef jerky baking on Mason street. We used to buy small paper bags full for only 5 cents.

  • Fair video history of SF Chinatown where I lived and played two blocks away on Mason Street during the 1950's. Not too original with many seen before photos. I rate this a 2 stars. Thanks for the effort though.

  • My father who grew up in Chinatown shared this video with us. Thanks for sharing the history of San Francisco Chinatown with us.

  • This is a great piece of original music and video compilation, transporting one back in time to a pivotal time in the history of a unique American community. Thank you CHSA!
