@steve6rocks11 Do your own variations. I did p90x for a month or so awhile back(I couldn't continue cause of school and baseball) and one thing the guy preached was "If you can't do what we are to do what you can, but over time push to do what your see us do." I'm not sure which exercises you are talking about exactly but do what you can and work your way up.
Did this yesterday for a conditioning workout in the middle of week 8. Im am SORE from the waist up today. Back, chest, abs and biceps are on fire. Tokk roughly 25 minutes because Im just like most guys, pullup reps got pretty pathetic lol. i did 12 the first set then it was downhill from there. Gonna do this once a week for a conditioning workout and hopefully start crankin out the pullups.
Jeff. Your videos are flat out awesome!! You have mentioned a number of times that you are "limited by the height of the ceiling". I have always wondered why you don't just take out the ceiling pannel next to the light. Thank you for your incredible encouragement and instruction. Kirk
Isn't doing all that stuff after the pull ups going to burn you out when you do the next set of pull ups? I mean why not do as many pull ups as you can while you're fresh as possible and just trying to improve from week to week?
@Minamakhlouf I don't think so really as you're training different muscle groups, you're not going to be able to do the same amount of pullups on your next sets but you maybe surprised how many you can, I hit 23 first set then could manage around 9 or 10 reps on the following sets I did.
@Minamakhlouf Think of it as a conditioning workout. It sucks doing it this way but it also give you a breather on your back while you are doing the other exercises. Even with That I guarantee you are gonna need a few one min rest periods before you are done.
what if your weakest link are your arms, can you still tailor this workout tip for these smaller muscle groups without running the risk of overtraining them?
good workout again, I'm going to do this one a progression did 23 reps first to failure then followed this about 5 times got to 65 pullups, going to go for 70-75 next time, my arms feel like they are going to burst, I'm gonna feel this tomorrow.
btw overhand or underhand grip does this matter? mix and match?
@Vladiin hey man, just wanna say great effort! but for your question about underhand vs over hand. id say over hand is usually more difficult because you are using more of your forearms, and underhand grip works your biceps more. so its all preferance, i'd personally prefer overhand just becuz my forearms are weaker
@Ballerx230 Cool thanks, I think I may try overhand next time as I don't really train my forearms, starting to feel a bit stiff from this workout now :)
i can only do 3-5 pull ups ;( But i mainly focus on working out because of my future goal of becoming a navy SEAL,But im 13 soo i have time to keep working on these.my goal is 7 by this year
My weakest link: squatts. I see people doing them in the gym but knowing the risk of back injuries and the risk on injuring my knee I avoid them. I only do squats w/o weights and even then I am extra careful(for my knee). I find them unnecessary though at times Im curious. Truly my weakest as well as heavy leg exercises and pull ups. I use machine weights to supplement what I cant do. Im a big guy with a reoccurring knee injury and I value every DO-ABLE new workout Im taught though.
This will work well with a bodyweight exercise, how does it work with weights e.g squats are my weakest link, my legs are very poor in terms of strength
@rmayurnrrrrr - what I mean is - getup to the bar with the chair in front of you, as yo go down push off the chair a bit..untill you can do more and more without it..
Please make shorter intros to your videos! I think I speak for us all when I say that.

im 16 and accually able to do pull ups really well, I do Crossfit but i have been getting a lot of workouts from AthleanX... i know i have weak joints from medical issues but my weakest link would be either my shoulders or legs... you would think that as a competitive butterfly swimmer i my upper body would be great sadly not... i was wondering if you had any ideas to help me out?
Everyone that thinks this is a scam your wrong. This program allows you to always stimulate your muscles by doing something new everyday. It also has a meal program that allows you to make your metabolism speed up, which will burn calories. The food choices are all healthy. I understand some people feel it takes a long time to build muscle is because they are not eating correctly and they are doing the same workout with the same weights day after day. This program works without a doubt!
Hey Jeff! I hope that you are this comment. I'm a 'customer' of yours and i love the program. And I was just wondering if you could make a bulletproof-video with the joints, like elbows or wrists or something :-)
i seriously dont think a person can get absolutely "ripped" in 90 days starting from scratch (having never worked out), unless they have god like genetics. muscle building is not a sprint, its a marathon. why does everyone want everything to happen so fast? take your time, be consistent, pay close attention to diet. theses 90 day promises are bogus,,,dont believe it. 90 days is just a 1 millimeter scratch on the surface people.
@groovytunes420 Some people can get ripped in 90 days, it just depends on their condition prior to starting the program, NOT genetics. Some people are gonna need more than 90 days, BUT that doesnt mean this program isnt outstanding, because it is. If you follow the workouts and the mealplan you will see visible positive results.
Quads, I developed a lump in my right quad fro doing a lot of leg excercises. What should I do to build up slowly and with a firm fouundation. I've always gone backwards after working on legs for 2 to 4 months because of injuries.
Jeff, I can't tell you enough how great you're advice, tips, exercises and everything else has helped me. I will join the team soon enough and I will be MR.X!!!!!!!
Hi Jeff! If pullups is my weakest link, is this the fatest way to gain in strength and reps in this exersice? I have checked out many people who competes in pullups and they say that they bulding up strength with alot of weights when they do pullups. And just some weeks before competition they start to train with only bodyweight to build up their stamina. Wich way should you recomend to someone who wants to compete in this type of competitions?
Jeff, what you do with these videos is amazing, helping people get to were they want to be quicker and safer, can't wait till my shoulder is better so I can get tore in to the system.. Keep the vids coming, much appreciated. Kaz
Great video, my weakest link is my left elbow , after a bad car crash it was left badly broken and is now pinned and screwed up so much i cannot straighten it and have very minimal range of motion...i cannot even do 1 push up, so i just do lots of leg routines and cardio, abs, and some very light rowing sometimes...fittness was my life before the crash and i aint about to give up. Thanks for the motivation dude
@Thijzaah Als ik op de site van Athlean X het wil kopen via paypal, dan komt er in beeld te staan dat ik me creditcard nummer ofzo in moet vullen. maar ik heb geen creditcard, heb alleen een bankrekeningnummer.
another awesome video Jeff! i'll try and put this into my routine - it's my pullups that i have trouble with; i can only do about 10 or 11 in one set!!
I wonder if any of those guys that has achieved that kind of results in such a short time used steroids.. Just sayin.. I don't think it is possible without
Another great workout Jeff!!! Gonna incorporate this into my training plan - thanks!
My weakest link's my legs, due to suffering from knee problems, so have to rely on leg extensions and curls rather than squats and deadlifts. A good leg workout that's easy on the knee joints would be great.
i am so fucking doing this at the gym. i love working out and things like this make the workout even more fun and competitive. Thanks man you're fucking awesome
I totally misunderstood the first time through when you were explaining the workout.. I thought you meant the goal was to do 100 pull ups all in one go.. And you had to keep doing the 3 10's until you could. Naturally I thought you were crazy but I get it now, haha. This is definitely a workout I'll start to integrate into my routine. Keep up the great videos!
My goal from Sept 1st is to Do a few sets of 1 minute pull ups. If I fail, I will do Push Ups, Planks ect till I can do it for 1 minute. I will definately add this video to my Push Up King Website..
I am a big fan of body weight exercises. And I think this is one of the best upper+core+lower body combo. I am already a member of team athlean as jeff calls it. I am going to start my workouts in 10-12 days time. Here is a question for you Jeff. My weak link is my back. In fact my lower back kinda stops me from doing certain resistance exercises for my upper body. Is there anything I can do to improve it so that I can better achieve what I am supposed to, using the full program thanks. Taemoor
hey Jeff, can u teach us how the people in the "ghetto" or "hood" what ever they call it now a days..how they get so rip, cut, buff and etc..! do u know what they do or explain some of the exercises and food they might eat?
@BabyGsus7 They eat free government cheese, don't have jobs, therefore they workout twice a day, and before you know it... they're huge. You're welcome.
@BabyGsus7 they get alot of sleep simple as that think about its like in prison they dont eat much but still are big as hell y cause they get lots of sleep we the people in the ghetto we just sleep alot nd we dont even have a good ass diet but we still manage to get big ripped nd huge we dont even get adeqate protein nethier we just eat watevers we can manage or wat our moms/girls can cook 4 us nd most of our exercises are mostly bodyweight/free weight workouts
@BabyGsus7 you saying from the hood or ghetto reason why is because, when people sitting on corners they get bored, may start doing pullups or pushups or something have competitions as they hustle, food ain't really worried they eat when hungry, workout for so long theres results but not as fast as following proper guide lines
no offense to any race, but in my opinion for African Americans ( I assume thats what most ppl associate with ghetto ppl in the first place, dont lie to yourselves) muscles are extremely noticeable for them. A few weeks of workouts can look like months of workouts for A/A's, as opposed to other races who have to work months more to get to their cut/muscular look.
Body weight exercises give you a better physique than a gym would any day. Weights just get you BIG. While body weights get you that nice shape and better looking physique. Those people know how to train right and until muscular failure (key) like Jeff say's in one of his videos. Jeff provides all great videos that are similar to what those people do. Food wise, just eat natural foods and keep it within calories. The other people said they eat whatever, but stick to a healthy diet.
@BabyGsus7 just lift weights eat right and youl see results and dont get stuck on what everyone else does to get big or ripped just focus on what you want and focus on how you need to train to get the results
@BabyGsus7 thye cant afford to eat, therefore they have almost 0% body fat so you can see every detail, a bit like at school the skinny little kid with the wafer thin 6 pack
@BabyGsus7 : I think its more genetic(s) than geographical location. If you are black/african-american, you tend to have a super fast metabolism. Combine this with having lots of free time and sports like competition with others around you -- you tend to work out all day and shoot the shit. Hence the reason they get big. Big generalization here, but that's my theory. Look up darness1234 -- cool dude from new york. He's got a video on nutrition also. Stick to the basics. (Tilapia, chicken, etc)
Hey Jeff. I just got the program and everything looks great so far. I want to start this monday. I was wondering where I can gety some of those jump stretch bands? My local sports. Thanks in advance. I am so pumped to start.
WOOWWWW I see a new conditioning workout here and a way to improve my pullups. Seems like Ive been stuck in the 10-12 range forever. Looks so much like the challenges it isnt funny. I can guarantee a fella will be suckin wind by the time he gets to 100 pullups or whatever exercise he wants to work on. Great stuff.
@alativalmis after you built yourself a strong pullup bar you can tie up a pouley to it, link it to weights and you can do a bunch of exercises with that
@djBC10000 Thats the idea lol. Use it for a conditoning workout. As Jeff said, get better at the pullups because you sure arent gonna want to keep doing those 10x10x10's.
hey Jeff, love what your doing here. I'm just curious, do you YOURSELF use this program? could someone get a build similar as yours with using this program or are you holding some secrets back? I'm just curious. Great video as always!

jeff im alright at pullups. but my weakest link is dips would u reccomend the same routine?
Murphdog0019 6 months ago
I totally misunderstood the first time through when you were explaining the workout.. I thought you meant the goal was to do 100 pull ups all in one go.. And you had to keep doing the 3 10's until you could. Naturally I thought you were crazy but I get it now, haha. This is definitely a workout I'll start to integrate into my routine. Keep up the great videos!

Taemoor

Pull ups kick my a** every time, I think the hardest part is the diet eating the right food and right amount of food

hey Jeff, can u teach us how the people in the "ghetto" or "hood" what ever they call it now a days..how they get so rip, cut, buff and etc..! do u know what they do or explain some of the exercises and food they might eat?
BabyGsus7 6 months ago 82
@BabyGsus7 to answer your question pushups sit-ups and eat everything
majormadtv 6 months ago
@majormadtv no they do more then that..i have seen more stuff then that..im sure jeff might teach us some "GHETTO" WORK OUT
BabyGsus7 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 you might be right but thats all I see people do, maybe they got a secret they don't tell us
majormadtv 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 its jsut their attitude about it, i play football with them, haha
TheThemoment 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 They eat free government cheese, don't have jobs, therefore they workout twice a day, and before you know it... they're huge. You're welcome.
uckushtar 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 they burn the fat running from the cops
Prussian7789 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 they get alot of sleep simple as that think about its like in prison they dont eat much but still are big as hell y cause they get lots of sleep we the people in the ghetto we just sleep alot nd we dont even have a good ass diet but we still manage to get big ripped nd huge we dont even get adeqate protein nethier we just eat watevers we can manage or wat our moms/girls can cook 4 us nd most of our exercises are mostly bodyweight/free weight workouts
nelseto13 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 you saying from the hood or ghetto reason why is because, when people sitting on corners they get bored, may start doing pullups or pushups or something have competitions as they hustle, food ain't really worried they eat when hungry, workout for so long theres results but not as fast as following proper guide lines
only2nocrew 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7
no offense to any race, but in my opinion for African Americans ( I assume thats what most ppl associate with ghetto ppl in the first place, dont lie to yourselves) muscles are extremely noticeable for them. A few weeks of workouts can look like months of workouts for A/A's, as opposed to other races who have to work months more to get to their cut/muscular look.

@BabyGsus7 if they're african american, genetics has a lot to do with it. they have good genetics for getting swole

The other people said they eat whatever, but stick to a healthy diet.
nightfire4107 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 try running when police dog is hunting you :D it might burn some fat for example
pejtok 6 months ago 31
@BabyGsus7 just lift weights eat right and youl see results and dont get stuck on what everyone else does to get big or ripped just focus on what you want and focus on how you need to train to get the results

@BabyGsus7 thye cant afford to eat, therefore they have almost 0% body fat so you can see every detail, a bit like at school the skinny little kid with the wafer thin 6 pack

@BabyGsus7 look up calisthenickingz, barstarzz, and bar-barians on youtube
chaaaaaaad1 6 months ago
@BabyGsus7 : I think its more genetic(s) than geographical location. If you are black/african-american, you tend to have a super fast metabolism. Combine this with having lots of free time and sports like competition with others around you -- you tend to work out all day and shoot the shit. Hence the reason they get big. Big generalization here, but that's my theory. Look up darness1234 -- cool dude from new york. He's got a video on nutrition also. Stick to the basics. (Tilapia, chicken, etc)

@alativalmis Pushups Pullups running or maybe biking
yourprobablywrong 6 months ago
@alativalmis Doing push-ups and buying a $20-30 pull up bar will help you a lot until you have the cash. You can also jog.
Fear08MX 6 months ago
@alativalmis after you built yourself a strong pullup bar you can tie up a pouley to it, link it to weights and you can do a bunch of exercises with that
12321johndoe 6 months ago
hey i can do 25 clean pull ups in 1 set, but i think doing the jump knee tuck is just
too much, i mean i love leg workouts but that shit just breaks you down fast and make ur heart explode.
djBC10000 6 months ago
@djBC10000 Thats the idea lol. Use it for a conditoning workout. As Jeff said, get better at the pullups because you sure arent gonna want to keep doing those 10x10x10's.
