  • You would have to be very hard to please if you weren't impressed by that demonstration. Of course always better in someone else's 4x4 ;-) but none the less quite amazing.

  • Will it blend?

  • was this recorded with a potato?

  • this geezers talkin aboot corrosion ,, for fuk sake man a need to watch that again,FUKING HELL MAN????

  • WOLF by name, wolf by nature :)

  • The one dislike is a fish who got his ass burnt from this beast's silencer..... :p

  • i will be convinced when i see the DC100 thingy do that!

  • Land Rover Submarine edition.

  • i would love for someone with one of these ugly car TO DO THAT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS

  • Did they then drive into a fresh water river washing out all the salt crud and then cook the fish caught in the cab at lunchtime?

  • Thats nuts!

  • Pretty well any car can do this, they did similar with a Ford Fiesta.... the military are well funded out of my taxes and can afford to destroy expensive vehicles for fun by doing this sort of thing. There are a few places you need to keep the water out in order to keep running short term, however the water still gets into a lot of the other bits which fail later on.

  • @g0fvt I didn't see top gear taking the Fiesta to depths where the water was inches from covering the entire car height, or tackling waves half as big.

  • the 1 dislike is the water :P

  • only in a landy.... maybe a tank?

  • with this, i think I can CROSS the ENGLISH CHANNEL

  • fuck!!!!!!!!!!

  • I could do that in my jimmy. But that thing is half the size and weight.... so well played land rover. Well played :D

  • @peepeevagi your shitty jimmy would get taken away by the current!

  • @V1NCEVRS You dont know my jimmy :3

But the point here is that it's easier to do in my big ol heavy muddin Jimmy than it is a Land rover. So this guy has some skills :D

  • Now THAT'S impressive!!

  • Thats true!! xD RRC

  • definite mind fuck. car driving in ocean.

  • This was featured in a recent LRO issue, and the backend would float, but they have a gridded floor to allow sea water in and they are fitted with weights too

  • freakin insane!

  • American here proud owner of a 1944 and 45 willys 96 jeep cherokee and a 99 LandRover Discovery II ....and I have to admit all the jeeps are fun and cool...but I sell all of them and my girlfriend before Id consider getting rid of my LandRover.

  • They still look after their land rovers by putting them throw fresh water after they go in the sea and probable better looked after then a lot civilian land rovers.

  • do they float

  • Britanian rules the world :)

  • @beachboy5252 and the waves

  • Haha! Remind me never to buy an ex Marine Landy! I'll buy an ex reserve lol

  • who wants to buy an ex-military slight water damage ;)

  • I fully trust land rover. My dad use to have one in 70's in mountain of kurdistan,Iraq.

It's prefect for mountain ,Snow,Mud,Hunting, flood, rocky area,

    ALMOST EVERYTHING.Thanks UK

  • fake theirs a road under the water thats high enohe so the rover can do that.

  • @EtecGear Road in the sea :L

  • @EtecGear You are dimwitted, do you really believe the military only uses their specially modified Royal marine commando landrovers on beaches with underwater roads "Sorry lads, we can't launch an amphibious assault there, we didn't tell the engineers to build a road under the water 3 months ago and hope no-one would notice" These things are specially adapted for the Marines ( clue in the name ) for such operations as opposed to other landrover variants used by the Brits. :)

  • @davediesel90 I know there is no road i was joking, landrovers are powerfull!

  • better drive though a lake to wash all the salt off...haha

  • caralho!! paguei pau agora...

  • YOU GUYS SEEM TO LIKE THIS STUFF, WATCH MY VIDEO, (ACTUALY ITS A SLIDE SHOW) AND ELL ME WHICH ONE RULES, THE VIDEO IS "Land Rover Defender 110 vs Hummer H1 Alpha vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon" AND SAY WHICH IS BEST.

  • DANG DAT WUZ CRZY, LR'S RUL!

  • Defender rules. As always

  • this, is just EPICNESS! that is all

  • Awesome stuff guys..

  • OMG LOL. Thats so cool, well done guys!

Bloody hell my Escudo would get wet, sink and thats it lol.

  • now thats f@#in cool!!

  • Nice car. Is it Goldie? Or a similar car, because it looks like a Wolf.

  • Landrover won't rust cause the whole body is made of Aluminium =) GREAT job, i'm from the army as well

  • In theory the salt wont rust the skin, but take into consideration the steel chassis and other vulnerable components such as the axles... Aluminium doesn't rust, it oxidises (looks like a powdery grey mould)... Landrovers are prone to this through Bi-metallic corrosion (steel + aluminium coming into contact with each other) e.g steel rivets in ally skin... I used to work on Navy Lynx heli's, they were really bad for corrosion with all that flying over the sea....

  • @andy815nas

    rust = oxidised iron

  • @BobTheElder Thanks, I am aware of this... Like I said, the steel components will rust if not protected properly... and the aluminium will also, in its own way, corrode.

  • @andy815nas

yeah i just meant coz you were talking about aluminium oxiding not rusting... well it's the same thing. Nothing important though!

  • that aint deep it is barley over the bonnet during a warn challange ed cobley and i were so deep he had to get out onto the roof to navagate us back to shore..pics were in lro to prove it

  • These vehicles are waterproofed and this is just basic training. They used 3 Fiestas and they all got scrapped for the Clarkson show

  • That's near where Jeremy Clarkson did the landing thing with the Royal Marines in the bright green Ford Fiesta...

but that was like...2 ft deep or sommat lol.

Ok in reality im only writing this comment to mention I live really close to there :P

  • COOL VIDEO

  • Great Video. These are MOD spec Land Rovers and are kept well maintained before and after salt water has been all over and they are well trained. Dont try at home kids. Note they drove in against (not side on but like a boat would tackle waves) so the wave would push the LR down for grip and opposite coming out so the wave would push the LR to shoer and against sand for traction and not turn it over. Again great Video

  • I was watching something on history channel here in the U.S, an they were showing Jeeps, tanks, APC's an stuff driving off the landing craft and forwarding 1,000 yards or so thru the ocean in water over the hood,s.. But A Newer jeep wouldnt make it.

  • its as well they got that landrover on film as it will be a heap off rust by now with the sea salt probaly just the tyres left

  • Thats fucking awesome. He gets out at the end like nothing happened.

  • !

    :)

  • LAND ROVERS ARE THE BEST!!!

  • @wilyvanilly

wrangler/cj would tea-bag any land rover

  • @roma4593 you need tea bagging you ill informed faggot

  • @glennandtrudi1691

haha you would be from the UK. Maurice Wilks modeled the lr after the willys you ill-informed-faggot go drink some tea and soak up some more of your social welfare programs while your at it.

  • @roma4593 fuck off the brits are better than where ever you come from you faggot

  • @wilyvanilly they arent the best........THERE BEAST

  • Let's see a Jeep try that.

  • WTF, thats amazing, would love to see a on board video

  • Doesn't that mess it up?

  • ok thats frikkin brill. Ive had my fun in army landys, but thats something I never thought they could do :)

Stands to reason it was the marines o7

  • A friend of mine used to work at ATTURM developing the waterproofing for the Wolf, and what you see there is the result of some very time consuming and expensive testing!!

  • I'm guessing that it's a diesel engine.

  • sure

this kind of defender are 300TDI only

  • It's not crazy, it's Defender ! simple, is'nt it?

  • Shouldn't it now be called "Land and Sea Rover"?

  • Kudos for a brilliant comment!! XD

  • brilliant, is that at instow, devon?

  • I hate to say it but Clarkson did something similar in a FIESTA on Top Gear on Sunday!

  • True but the people who developed this landrover also sealed the Fiesta to do it. A normal Fiesta wouldnt have made it a foot into the sea.

  • I know that now! It was in LRO this month or last, I thought it had to be said though!

  • Thats crazy! Awesome though!
