We have a group called the "Wednesday Night Water Boilers" and we meet normally on Wednesday evenings to run live steam trains and drink beer. Does food taste better when you cook it using solar energy?

@TheCoolNewStuff - yes, or at least everyone says it seems to. The one thing about solar cooking is that there is no added flavours from the fuel - that's the secret. Also, it is a very constant heat that is similar to a slow cooker, so things don;t tend to burn as much as they would by conventional means. I did a cake in the oven recently (see "solar cake") and it turned out perfect - best cake ever. Moist right to the edges - amazing! Ken.

best ribs i made, where smoked with hickory n apple wood 4 hour, every half hour spray them with mix of apple juice, apple cider n wolscheser sauce to keep moist, only at the end slab the home made BBQ sauce thats been smoking with the ribs for at least one hour!!! Sauce: satay ognions n galric in bacon fat + ketchup + dijon mustard + molasse + honey + pascilla pepper + chipolte + special rub. Thats the way to go bud

@hipofalcon well the pascilla peppers are long mexican peppers, i guess you could get them in a latino market, i got mine at the asian market! they got alot of latino spices there for some reason, but if you dont get it any pepper will do ( jalapeno, more chipotle, bhut jolokia!) i like the pascilla though. rub: salt + pepper + garlic powder + ognion powder + ginger powder + chili flakes + cayenne + grounded pascilla + all spice + paprika ( i use the hongarian kind, but any 1 will do) +

@GoGatorsGoooo Don't knock it till you try it, although most people don't have a Solar Oven. I like my ribs sweet n spicy. They do sound barebone ribs. The grill has a Energy Star sticker, LOL. I would say it is pretty efficient .
