  • The Karate guy definitely cross trains cause Karate definitely doesn't teach good ground fighting.

  • i think the sambo fighters are better because they fight full contact

  • Это не Sambo vs Karate а Sambo vs BJJ !!!!

  • самбист красава)))

  • Nice camera work....

  • los karatecas paresen cocodrilos cuando los tiras, de hueva pelear con ellos en el suelo

  • why do they keep doing missionary? lol

  • @SpacePigeon5 because this is fighting with technique not just some children going bodies or going heads. Also in street, school ect; fights they mostly end up with a dude on top of each other while swinging like drunk monkeys at least in this there is some order.

  • I do judo and sambo too. I know about the time limit. Checkout the sambo fighters posture. He is postured up so there is no way for Mr.Karate to secure the choke. If it wasnt for the time limit he would have just passed to side mount. If the sambo players posture was broken down then it would have been a different story.

  • @Tracer564 karte guy idnt know how to lock it up, i have dome bjj for 2 years. he ad plenty of room to breath.

  • @jbachum No dude... RUNNING OUT OF TIME. You see in judo or karate (shido) competitions, you have to finish it, no time to slowly go in like in BJJ tournaments you could be in guard and hold it as long as you want.

  • COMPLIMENTI VERY GOOD

  • Weird rules

  • why did they allow takedowns but not submissions off the back? He had several chances to triangle him

  • @toxic025 time. Sambo is very fast and very aggressive. When the fight goes to the ground, an athlete, depending on tourny rules, has a certain amount of time (sometimes, as in this video, a short 10-15 seconds to as long as 30 seconds) to submit his opponent. This is to emulate the ferocity of an actual combat or streetfighting situation as sambo is a military fighting system

  • karate sucks !

  • nice match! fun to watch, good speed and aggressive attitude... sambo is just so fun to train man!

  • lol, why is the karate guy better than the sambo guy on the ground and the sambo guy better standing? Is this bizarro world?

  • This guy might say hes karate but Im a black belt in bjj and me the karate is very skilled on the ground. Hes atleast a purple belt.

  • that's mma

  • The "karateka" transforms into a jiujitsuka whenever it suits him, then magically becomes a karateka again when on feet. His jiu-jitsu skills are more polished than his karate.

  • @LeoInterHyenaem

    I agree!

I'm at a point to where i don't wanna call it MMA anymore.

  • karate one has a nice haircut, and thats about it

  • haha the karate guy knew bjj

  • Title lies. This is Sambo vs Karate & BJJ

  • какой накуй самбист болевой сделать не может!

  • @jjanniikk он наверно разволновался

  • they both are sambo-ju juitsu!

  • wtf this is sambo vs karate mixed with BJJ

  • the "karate" guy knows some jiu jitsu

  • Combat sambo peleador!!!

  • Comment removed

  • this is not karate, its probably kick boxing or kenpo u retard, any karateka is smarter than that

  • Sambo the best ! :)

  • Karate guy wasn't bad but was clearly outmatched. Good fight though!

  • Love it

  • esse cara está mais para qualquer outro estilo de luta agarrado do que para o karate.

  • karate must suck

  • This is not Karate, this guy knows how to wrestle...

Karate is striking skill - so don't call it Sambo vs Karate!

  • @YMthefirst Hum ... sorry but you must know that Karate has got several styles / flavours. This looks to me as Seidokaikan Karate which indeed includes wrestling !

Also, i used to do Daido Juku which, again, is based on Karate Kyokushinkai style but adds to it ground and pound.

Now i'm into MMA but i would say i still got the Karate spirit which i think is as -if not more- important that the technics ...

    OSU ;-))

  • My bad i wanted to say it's SHIDOKAN (but Seidokaikan also has a bit of wrestling AFAIK)

  • @salsastuff

I've trained karate myself (shotokan) and have known about styles, also have watched karatekas with many different skills witch originally style was shotokan, but honestly haven't heard about those stiles with wrestling...

Every day you can learn something new... Thank you for your time.

And about karate spirit I think it remains into your mind to the end of your life ;)

    OSU :-D

  • @YMthefirst its obviously karate but he has some basic grappling knowledge.

  • I prefer watching this than watching ufc

  • @GTpanik No thank you, I think I'll stick to UFC )))

  • @Paucharka

To each it's own. I have nothing against UFC, but that's you.

  • what kind of karate is this its my first time to see how a karateka fights and knows how to defend himself in the ground?

  • karate good in punching,,to hav a fair fight, punching to head should b allowed..

of coz..sambo is really good in ground fight !!

  • 2:11 - to ideal position for a kneebar... =)

  • @24miggy24 So your saying if a 2 fighters equal in everything fought each other, one knowing krav maga and one knowing karate, you think the one with superior techniques wouldnt win? A and some styles only train standup where as others train everything, to say no martial art is superior is nieve.

  • @tywainwrainwright1 exactly, if the karate fighter has better technique, then yes, he would win. thats my point! If the krav fighter has better technique, he will win. my point is that the style is not what makes one fighter better than another, it's their own technique and simply how they fight. the style all depends on which techniques you use and your stance, not one is better than another i strongly believe because it just depends on how a fighter uses what they are taught.

  • @24miggy24 But a stance in karate is inferior to one is martial arts like muay thai, boxing, krav etc. a karate stance there hands are low and the guard nothing, where as other stances guard the face and actually do something.

  • @tywainwright1 i dont know what kind of karate you're watching! the only thing i can think of is TKD fightes sometime have their hands down in tournaments, but that only seems to be present when facing each other. im sure if they fought anyone else they would have their hands up. but no, karate has their hands up

  • @24miggy24 90% of karate fights ive seen they have their hands down, and not just that but the techniques used, such as blocks, are pointless and would not work, where as krav blocks are straight and to the point, and what about if the fight goes to the gound?

  • @tywainwright1 omg you have to be kidding me, right. first of all, Krav maga is not even a martial art according to experts in it, it's considered a "self defense tactic." next, krav blocking and karate blocking are two different things, i am personally trained slightly in each. karate is a hard martial art as where krav has a soft style of blocking, aka redirecting as they call it. also you cannot shoot down a style for not teaching groundfighting, that doesnt make it any better or worse.

  • @24miggy24 Yes it does, if a martial art doesnt teach ground fighting it is definatlly inferior to one that teaches both stand up and ground fighting. How would it not make a difference?

  • @tywainwright1 you cant compare one martial art that teaches groundfighting to a martial art that doesn't teach groundfighting, that just doesn't make any sense...

  • @24miggy24 How does it not make sense?

  • cool

  • @24miggy24 fun ^^

    not really

  • wow

  • sergei dragunov owns jin kazama!

  • As a Sambo guy, the Karate guys don't have the best stance. It's even worse than TKD, which is pretty bad. The one's who can stand up to the attack keep their feet moving a lot, but still, it's pretty easy to catch them.

  • I've got my black belt in karate and quit. I personally don't think that it is a superior style of fighting, it is too traditional and linear

  • there skill notwithstanding, shows how quick a fight ends up on the ground though!

  • they both sucks, my friend does sambo and i do bjj both of these guys would not last a min with him. that guy gives sambo bad name.

  • @g2m3s2 Sorta true, Sambo guy has no hands. It's over for him when he fights someone with skills, Sambo or otherwise.

  • why the fuck a karate guy pulling bjj techniques

  • @g2m3s2 that is a valid point you have there.

  • @g2m3s2 yeah I'm sure he's not pure karate, he has some grappling knowledge

  • all of yal dont know the trur martal arts yall u just watch bounch of movies u faggit

  • opponent looked more thai than karate

Ahmed kept letting the dude get his legs over his arms

  • N'importe quoi.. Quand le Karatéka commençait ses clée , l'arbitrte stoppait le combat __" .

  • des que le karateka amorce une clé ... l'arbitre interrompt le combat ,

effectivement les règles sont spéciales !

  • That wasn't good ground technique from the "sambo" guy, you must establish first control (position) before you jump into submission. That's why he lost his subs, of course maybe it had to play into that it seemed rules didn't allow more than 4 seconds of ground fight.

  • @kuracburac the sambo guy clearly sucks at sambo. He could do leg locks three or four times before it actually dawned on him that he can do it and he tried. Even I could do better in those situations, though I am far from any grappling at all!

  • @kuracburac Speaking from a BJJ standpoint, you're right. Sambists don't ascribe to the idea that you must pin before executing a submission so much as BJJ guys do. With a 30 second maximium on the ground in Sambo, the stall-jitsu doesn't work quite as well for submission artists.

  • Не важно какой вид единоборств.Просто самбист опытнее и лучше подготовлен как боец

  • LOVE SAMBO

  • Самбо рулит !!!

    Все остальное кроме бокса отстой!!!

  • these guys seem to have a mix of everything there not pure fighters.

  • @24miggy24 This is only true to a point. Some arts (BJJ, Muaythai) have a technical advantage.

  • @mthai66 Not really. Technical would be like, karate, or kung fu. Meaning, you have to perform a kick or a punch a ceratin way. There's not much of "adding your own flavor" in arts like that. But in MT it;s hardcore & intense. You can add your own flavor. imo BJJ is technical too.

  • @24miggy24 Using your definition of "technical" I suppose I should rephrase: Some arts (like BJJ and MT) have a *tactical* advantage.

  • @mthai66 Meaning it's better? No, I disagree. You can use any style against any style and one will win. It just depends on the fighter.

  • @24miggy24 And I disagree: SAMBO, Judo, SanDa, Muaythai, Boxing, Wrestling, BJJ, and Kyokushinkai dominate.

  • @mthai66 so that means that every other style out there won't work? Steven Segual - Aikido. Bas Rutten - Krav Maga. Bruce Lee - mostly kung fu. Style means NOTHING.

  • @24miggy24 What I mean is that if you take 100 random people and teach 50 of them Muaythai (or BJJ, or SanDa, etc) , and 50 of them WTF TKD (or Shotokan, or RBWI Ninjutsu, or Krav Maga, etc.), and then pit them against one another, then the results will strongly favor Muaythai (etc) regardless who gets taught what.

  • @mthai66 okay, whatever you say. One art on top of the world huh?

  • @24miggy24 Not 1 art; 8 combat sports.

  • @24miggy24 a lot of arts say they're "combat."

Give me a break, muay thai isn't the best.

  • This is a first time i ever saw a striker escape a grapple.

  • karae fighter was decent from guard

  • че за два лузера?

  • que verguenza el karateca sabia mas ne waza q el propio de sambo.

  • seriously another ufc nut sucker? 24miggy was right it depends on the fighter ur seriously going to tell us that if you train bjj that ur automatically a badass??Some arts that aren't meant 4 combat we all know that. but it comes down to the fighter and really the level of competition that fighter is up against. Early UFC lacked skills of those Today did we not see the Gracie Hughes fight? There are plenty of bjj guys that cant even tie their gi belt let alone perform a correct sweep.

  • and of course there is a superior style..for example one person trains aikido and one trains gracie jiujitsu, I can bet the one who trains bjj will win a free fight..! a person who says it depends on how you use the style and there is no better or superior martial art, clearly shows his lack of knowledge in this field or to say it in other words, those are smartasses..remember when UFC first introduced, no karate guy won the championship, Royce Gracie dominated the arena..

  • @fund4ment ...an inexperienced BJJ fighter is going to have trouble with an experienced karate fighter.

  • sambo is not popular but is badass

  • why did they stand it back up every time the karate guy went for a triangle?

  • The sambo guy is tough as the Karate guy. They are both good ;) nice fights.

  • @24miggy24 finally somebody talks some sense on this subject. Well said

  • @cdoggydog182 thank you :)

people don't realize that just because boxing/muay thai/ sambo are more "intense" styles of fighting, doesn't mean that they are BETTER. To me, all martial arts are equal, but it depends on the fighter and how you use the martial art.

  • karate guy has good bjj

  • q coñasa!

  • For a Sambo guy he was letting the Karateka dominate on the ground a fair bit!

  • @24miggy24

To a degree this is true. Yet I would place money on that if you had 10 Sambo fighters against 10 Karate fighters (all of similar size, strength, mentality) then there would be a much greater % win for Sambo.

It seems to be the new thing to say all arts are equal but they are not. Just as all fighter jets are not.

  • @DeadliftXI those aren't all the factors. Hits to the side of the head, neck ect, plus weapons(not ballistic weapons).

  • Not bad for the karate guy. He needs some kick boxing and judo and he will became in a great fighter.

  • @24miggy24

THANK YOU! i've been going around some Fighting Style videos And most kids go around saying Muay thai is better, Karate is better, hapkido is Better, etc etc.. and most of them don't get the fucking point..

You are right Miggy.. all about the fighter, not the style..

  • that's a BJJ fighter against a sambo fighter not a karate guy

  • No he is karate you can tell by his strikes and his clothing.. he just has some basic knowledge of grappling

  • ok that ref is pissing me off. The karate guy did not have the stand up skills that the sambo fighter did, good job for the sambo fighter btw. But the karate guy DID have a heavy advantage on the ground, he got him in 2 clear triangle's and one heel hook but the ref broke them up EVERY TIME!

  • Agreed. I once heard someone say that a fight is a test of wills. If someone imposes their will on you( kicks, punches, armlocks.etc) before you do then they will win. Fighting is so honest now, there are no secrets and tricks anymore everyone knows what to train and the outcome is purely dependent on the fighter.

  • I know I don't like when people say that "ohh muay thai is the best cuz it's very aggressive or sambo cuz its aggressive, its just how you use your art and weather you can take a hit or not...

  • the karate looks to at least have a lil knowledge of jiu jitsu too

  • this karate-guy seems to have almost no fullcontact experience

  • karate isnt bad, but its not as practical because realistically, people grab eachother

  • Yes both appear to be new ar this,at least the application. SAMBO is more complete than most karate for sure,it has civilian app police app military app sport app and mma/combat app. I teach FusBoxe SAMBO/MMA/BJJ-bjj and sambo mixed is a great combo, but bjj is tighter on the ground for sure.sambo has great self defense and is more "all around" use. and yes karate is good, learn its power, accept open ways

  • Whoever the hell is in the blue shorts needs to learn how to pass guard

  • wow. i really need to find a place to study sambo in stl. it seems like a perfect balance of strikes holds and takedowns. does nyone kno wher i can find nything else about it

  • interesante el sambo, me imagino que el sambo de combate debe ser un poco mas agresivo

  • i love sambo (im doing kyokkushin karate)

but i see here.... karateka is not good :))

  • sambo would straight kill karate im only white belt in sambo but its so easy and so effective

  • САМБО РУЛИТ)))

  • why arent they groundin poundin

  • im sorry.. but both of them kinda looked like amateurs. i pitty that karate guy, but its not his fault for having a stupid dance. i call it a dance because its not self defence and its not a martial arts

  • both are weak

  • both of them suck iv seen street fights that has more techniques than this

  • its not free fight or street fight its a real sport!

  • sambo the best!!

  • This karate guy is a joke!!! fight with a jiu jitsu or a vietvodao guy and you will be knocked off in a minute!!!

    this is riddiculous!!!

  • knocked off?

  • u mean fedor(sambo) fought nogueira(JJ) and kicked his ass twice

  • Sambo WIN

  • In what world did sambo win i saw him get couth in 2 triangle chokes with full lock im not bashing you I just want to under stand how that guy won because it looked like a bunch of bias home town refs to me.

  • im MMA WORLD SAMBO WINS

  • it is true and i am great fan of the russians but you can't really knock karate, frenk mir and seth ptruzelli are also great fighters

  • no not exactly, fedor is about the only one I know who uses that, not saying it's bad, but im just saying.

  • @24miggy24 Arlovski is a Sambo champion too. If you go dig you'll find there are more..

  • @frozeNjiN123 If Fedors fighting style was tea party he would still win.

  • @frozeNjiN123 in karate world, karate wins

  • @juicespirit

offcourse because its only karate there.. and i advise u to become a muslim and worship Allah..

  • @frozeNjiN123 and y shud we do tat?

  • @frozeNjiN123 no its just about the fighter not there Martial art.

  • @frozeNjiN123 no ...Fedor Wins!!it's the fighter,not the style!( my opinion! :) ) bye!

  • go sambo

  • I very much doubt if the guy calling hinmself a Samboist has ever entered a Sambo competition

  • the karate guy cant do the sub if the sambo guy took off his shirt

  • Molodec Ahmed, krasivo deryotsya, i xoroshie udari! nadeus ya toje nauchus' tak, sobiraus sambo nachinat'.

  • мда...научили, всяких!

  • if there is one (thats one not a combo of two or more styles) that covers all aspects of fighting its combat sambo. and since when does a karate fighter use triangle chokes like this guy in the video was going for?

  • even closed guard shocked me

  • Hapkido is also a very well rounded ma.

  • EVEryone knows now that ground fight is important so people no longer practise only strike coz i didnt know that triangl existed in karate but its a good thing thanks t BJJ

  • C'est quoi comme principe le sambo ?

  • the guy in the white pants had a triangle twice but the reff stood them up to soon

  • el tio k ase sambo es malisimo no sabe aser na pss

  • i think sambo is a clossest to mma style

  • i would say jui jitsu and hapkido is..

  • it depends on which sambo style you are practicing

  • combat sambo is under MMA
