The updates contained on some games is because the software they designed the game with is not backwards compatible with previous xbox software, to be honest it is a bad choice on the developers part. Secondly, you can accept any EULA and if any information is taken you have legal ground to sue because EULA is unconstitutional, they make you agree to terms AFTER you purchase something.
Also your state sells your info all the time, focus your efforts on that

My friends wouldnt shut up about Battlefield 2 being so awesome. So I buy it, go to play with them and the game tells me I have to get on my computer and make a EA account just to play it. Had to accept a bunch of shit and go through questionnaires and putting my info just to play online because they wanted to offer a "social experience" to track and tell people when Im online. Thats what xbox live is! Wait for Battlefield 3, just wait and see what hoops youll have to jump through to play it.
When I see steam or ps store with full games I simply back off. I've heard that Rage is going to be hardware locked, no game borrowing. No matter how good the game will be I won't buy it. Such a shame ID software.

Well, no, it is true, when the option of "Never check for updates" is selected, no data is sent or received to/from the update server, I've been using NOD32 antivirus for a long time, and it has one of the most in-depth internet traffic monitors available to home users.
I'd be fairly well-aware if Microsoft did force Windows updates on me while I have "Never check for updates" was selected.

Never actually realised that EA was actually doing this. I have not played my PS3 in a good few months but every time we have updates there is screens similar to that, that we must accept to. And now look at Sony, they were hacked and over 77 million peoples information was stolen. It's disgusting.
Do you have acute paranoid personality disorder? The updates aren't supposed to put ads on your dashboard, they're supposed to add new features and fix bugs and other issues with the software or interface. Ads are always there if you have Xbox Live, and they don't force you to click them. Also opting out of system or game updates might make new games not work or play the way intended.

In fact, I just went to the Bulletstorm website to look at their privacy policy, and it told me that it just logged my IP address to their records as to when I visited and how long I was there. It doesn't matter if you're on xbox or ps3 or pc or their website, they will find a way to find something about you.
I noticed the privacy policy has a button to 'accept' but no 'decline option. I dont own an xbox but does this mean there is no way to play online without giving up your personal info?
I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but have you tried playing Bulletstorm without a connection to Xbox Live? Maybe you can bypass any of your information being passed around that way. I'd also recommend making an email address that you don't use for anything to direct all the potential garbage they might be trying to sell you. There's ways around the system that are perfectly legal and they can't stop you.

Well, no, it is true, when the option of "Never check for updates" is selected, no data is sent or received to/from the update server, I've been using NOD32 antivirus for a long time, and it has one of the most in-depth internet traffic monitors available to home users.
I'd be fairly well-aware if Microsoft did force Windows updates on me while I have "Never check for updates" was selected.

Do you have acute paranoid personality disorder? The updates aren't supposed to put ads on your dashboard, they're supposed to add new features and fix bugs and other issues with the software or interface. Ads are always there if you have Xbox Live, and they don't force you to click them. Also opting out of system or game updates might make new games not work or play the way intended.

You should check out the Dragon Age II malarkey that happened when a user on the Bioware forums said something negative about Bioware, something about them selling their souls to the EA devils, and EA locked him out of playing Dragon Age II for about three days. They said it was an accident, which is totally plausible, but still shouldn't have even been an option.

dude i watched a few of your videos and i agree 100% , the problem is that you are playing consoles, just get a decent pc and you have none of these problems,the last console i had was a ps2 just to play a few fighting games , which is pointless now as i can play any ps2 game on my pc, and MUGEN which is the best fighting game i ever played. pc has the best versions of all the FPS's and you don't have to use the retarded joypad shit, can mod most games , and have greater control over settings.

Of course microsoft is going to promote the kinect system, and of course EA would make you install an update for it. As for EA products requiring an acceptance in the user agreement and your cookies and privacy rant, I owned EA games and got a few e-mails, nothing more. Companies have been requiring the agreement to be checked for few years now, nothing new.

I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but have you tried playing Bulletstorm without a connection to Xbox Live? Maybe you can bypass any of your information being passed around that way. I'd also recommend making an email address that you don't use for anything to direct all the potential garbage they might be trying to sell you. There's ways around the system that are perfectly legal and they can't stop you.

Just stop buying games or travel back to 1979 and play an Atari, no ads on that as far as I'm aware.
