I like that she saved Harry after he told her that Draco was alive. She could have gotten the info from him and then told Voldy but she didn't . Love her in the books.
I think that during the war, Narcissa realised that she had made the wrong choice. She could have done what Andromeda did and turned her back on the supermacist beliefes of her family but instead she stayed with Bellatrix. It was only when Draco was forced into being a Death eater did she realise the extent of what she'd done. Everything she did was for Draco and Lucius' safety.
@Neocrane Well it was implied that she WAS a death eater in the books, but then JK Rowling said she wasn't. But if you haven't read the books, I so recommend it, especially for Narcissa, her character is 10x better in the books. She is actually in hysterics at one point.
I think Lucius was taught to follow Voldemort, and he thought that it would be the best thing for his family, then got in too deep. Narcissa just wanted to preserve her family, wanted to stay with her husband, and was willing to have Severus under an Unbreakable Vow and lie to Voldemort for Draco. Draco was scared for his family but I think he would have immediately gone to the good side if it hadn't been for Voldemort's threats.
Nice vid! I love the Malfoys. I loved the scene in the book where Lucius and Narcissa were looking for Draco instead of fighting - I almost cried while reading it. I think, in the end, Narcissa realised that Lucius was too much of a covard to save the family... so she had to work on it. But I love Lucius, too. I'm sure he loved his family more than being a death eater.
Death Eaters don't know how to love right. The Malfoys learned to love each other and their son. Everything they do after the return of Voldemort is to protect each other. Narcissa especially. She loved someone more then she feared the Dark Lord.
One of the best and most poignant bits in the film was Narcissa and Draco walking away without looking back (they didn't care about the fighters either way and just cared about their family so they could turn their backs easily) and Lucius looking terrified and shifty because he was actually having to make a choice.
The Malfoys love the Malfoys, first and foremost. They abandoned their cause and beliefs the minute their son was put in danger in the book and same in the movie. Everything they did towards the end was to protect their family.
They really didn't care who won as long as the family was safe, hence why Lucius, Draco and Narcissa are my absolute faves in this movie.
My theory is that Narcissa, as the baby sister, always was an easy target to her family prejudiced values and such always believed in blood purity because her family, eldest sister made her. Bellatrix spoke in behalf of both of them when she said they shunned Andromeda since her wedding, so I'd like to think that before she started dating Ted, Narcissa and Andromeda were close.
The way I see it, Narcissa could have gone either way. It was the fact that Harry had saved her son where Voldemort wouldn't have cared that showed her which side to really take. In the end she just wants to protect her son, she hasn't really chosen good or evil. And Draco I believe has realized which side he wants to be on - good. Lucious is still just selfish and looks only for self-preservation.
I also dressed as Narcissa to the opening of DHP2 :) I like her character.
@elemantal13 Because she loved her family more than her life as a Death Eater, maybe we could sort of forgive her for her wrongdoings. As long as she does not try to hurt anyone again.
@Neocrane: I think what Jo was trying to portray with the Black sisters was a simple variety of personalities. I do think that Narcissa was a product of her families teachings. I came from a military background. Ho boy. I know about family bragging! You begin to feel a sense of pride in your lineage, and, naturally, you want to gravitate toward your own kind, until you begin to 'see'..then..it's like..You support WHAT?? ..Narcissa had her eyes opened quickly.
@BrightStar5972 : Don't get me wrong. The n___n thing gives me the impression you're not liking my posts. I like the Malfoys. I just feel that they got caught up in the whole superiority thing.
it made me mad narcissa never got a big part in the movies i was glad i dont care what anybody says i am glad Lucius did nto die i think narcissa saw what a monster Voldemort really was when all those guards and people were dead in her house and she kinda changed her thought about things then
@Willy55135 : She was possitively horrified. She knew that Voldermort had taken over thier house, and he knew how they felt! It pleased him to cause them so much fear. I agree. When the 'loyal' followers were wiped out with no thought at all, she made her choice..FAmily prreservation at this point on.
@lelesan100 is when Voldemort kills the gnome who works at Gringotts on the Malfoy Manor and Narcissa are beginning to ask if killing so many people is necessary because his face is of concern
@tripilu I love that scene. The truth is that the role of Nacrissa in this latest movie of Harry Potter is "important" and I like the "bad guys" who a good side.
@Neocrane I never actually thought the malfoys were bad guys I think they were raised to believe certain things and in the end they realized it just wasn't worth it

Narcissa never became a death eater, so it was probably easier for her to leave than Lucius and Draco

Three sisters from the Nobel house of Black: Andromeda-Good; Narcissa-borderline and could go either way. Bellatrix: Evil..
Narcissa loved her perfect boy. It wasn't about sides, it was about preservation.

Narcissa is a wonderful mother! She would do anything for her only son!
And I think she's a little bit angry with Lucius at the end. You can see that she turns Draco away from him. So that he can't touch him.
Love this Family! <3
