they said "itekimasuーいてきます" not "itedakimasuーいてだくます"

I'l be going now, compaired to the term usually translated as 'thank you for the food'

Itekimasu is a version of Ikimasu meaning 'To Go'

Watashi Wa Gakkou Ni Ikimasu- 私は学校にいきます。 'I go to school'

but itekimasu is used commonly to say politely when you leave a place, to tell your family you are leaveing,

Your sentence would mean to me "I go in the school."

に (ni) is used when you are at a place.

へ (e / he) is used if you are heading (going) to somewhere.

@myhonor9 Oh wow, we haven't learned that yet. (i've only been learning japanese for 1.5 years) the only time we have ever used he in class is when we were studying letters(mail) they said "Merii-chan he" at the start, Sensei said he was used for our 'from' so it was 'From Mary' ....
