Morrissey gets the attention in the Smiths, but the second I heard them in the USA, I knew that they had one awesome band behind him, starting with Marr on guitar, and that incredible rhythm section. Did Marr write or record the bass parts?
Morrissey is of course a genius lyricist, and totally original phraser. Such a great band.
So pathetic that they all hate each other, and we can't see them as a band. if they toured the USA, I'm sure it would be a huge deal.
