Jean "Django" Reinhardt was born 23 January 1910 in Belgium, into a family of Manouche gypsies. Reinhardt's nickname "Django" is Romani for "I awake." He died May 26, 1953.
At 18, Reinhardt was injured in a fire. He received serious burns over half his body, and the 3rd and 4th fingers of his left hand were badly burned. With determination he relearned his craft in a completely new way, using only two fingers for solos, and two other injured digits only for chords

Ricardo,was one of my best friends in Argentina,where I born and left in 2002.Now I live in Spain.He also was one of my favorites jazz guitar players I ve ever known.His quartets were famous in South America,with the style of the French Hot Club.,Markus Rheinhardt,the nephew grandson of Django plays violin and I met him in Munster,germany in 1992.-But the 8mm video of my filming while playing,are yet with my belongings in Argentina.
