@LDS4Life71 I have a question, tell me....and yes I'm honestly asking this, can you give me reasons/pros (doesnt have to be all) why I should turn from my protestant ways as a Christian and embrace the teachings of Joseph smith. What in the book of mormon contains better news than the news in the OT and NT?

@LDS4Life71 that may be very well but this conversation has been about the video above which is title "evidence" and doesn't give any at all. Perhaps the entire film gives something more, whether forged or not, but this video clip, even if taken as true doesn't prove anything. Very much like saying "people thought chariots had 4 wheels but we looked back and they had 2. That would not prove the story's of Asterix the gaul to be factual, even if it was true that they only had 2 wheels.understand?
@LDS4Life71 it doesn't say that in this video at all. all it does is say that there was war when previously people didn't think there was. Which may not even be true, it's not actually proved in this video, but even if it is true that there was war, that says nothing about any mormon cities or anything.
@LDS4Life71 sorry friend but it is you who said that NO evidence OR argument will convince otherwise. So it's you who is ignoring evidence and not me.
As explained in the beginning the above video is not evidence for anything related to mormonism.
@LDS4Life71 you're missing the point, i never presented any evidence. What i'm explaining here is that it doesn't matter what evidence i give you, the standard set by that quote is that NO evidence OR argument will convince otherwise.
So what's the point. That's intellectual dishonesty and ignorant. Do you understand that?
@LDS4Life71 you don't know that its not a false belief because your being intellectually dishonest. Obviously not you making the statement it's the writer on the site. By ignoring all arguments and evidence that contradict you are being intellectually dishonest and not truly searching truth.
@LDS4Life71 that quote is assuming that what you believe the holy ghost is telling you is accurate, and that it is actually the holy ghost.
Evidence and argument can be ways to determine that it is not in fact the holy ghost that is speaking to you, but if you ignore these things in a vain attempt to preserve your belief then you are being foolish. You're simply using the "holy ghost" as an authority to continue you in what may be a false belief.
@LDS4Life71 i'm not trying to change what they have found. Not at all, i just don't see the claims of the book of mormon as verifiable.
I've looked at the book honestly and even tried praying the prayer in my search, but did not feel any burning in my bosom. Which just left me wondering what I should do. So i then looked more and more at evidence and it just didn't stand up. And as i found out more about the character of Joseph Smith i find it hard to believe he was telling the truth.
@LDS4Life71 it's well documented there was a person named Jesus, we know of his death and the place he was buried. We have outside sources such as Josephus who is a jewish historian, so is unbiased, and talks about Christ's death.
but none of that matters in regards to whether this video is evidence. What you're doing is called Going Nuclear. Where you try to take down everyone else with you.
Do you believe this video is evidence for the book of mormon?
this is not evidence. I'm starting to think mormons don't know what evidence is. The book of mormon is full of warfare stories and steel swords and the fortified city of Zarahemla.
Q. why is there no Zarahemla found ?
Q. why is there no weapons of war found ? no steel swords, no breast plates, no horses ?
The Book of Abraham. In the 1830s Joseph Smith claimed the papyri purchased from Michael Chandler contained writings by Abraham’s own hand and allegedly translated a multi-chapter volume of scripture from it. Since the papyri were recovered in 1967, current Egyptology has shown the papyri to not be what Smith claimed but instead common Egyptian funerary texts.
Viewing the papyri as the source Joseph’s translation has been shown to be completely wrong and contains a number of errors and anachronisms which show that Smith knew next to nothing of ancient Egypt. In addition much of the astronomy and physics proposed in the volume have been challenged and shown to be false by current scientific thought. Although the Book of Abraham remains canonized LDS scripture, it is clearly unreliable or true in it’s origin claims and in much of what it teaches.
What do you get when you combine butter mints, crazy relatives, and crepe-papered basketball hoops? A "Big Fat Utah Wedding," of course! The hilarious record-breaking parody of Mormon mating rituals returns to Desert Star Playhouse for a return engagement beginning July 15th.
Wow! The fair LDS pages just blocked me for asking questions. Really!?!? :/

@LDS4Life71 first of all just to be clear again, this is not evidence of any kind. If there is evidence, this is a video that doesn't talk about it.
Since there is so much evidence, why do you think people who are atheists, christians, muslims, jehovah's witness' etc all reject this evidence?

@LDS4Life71 actually i really don't think the person who titled the video knows what evidence is. Because this is not evidence.
That is like saying the qu'ran is true because it spoke of warfare... and there was warfare. That's not evidence at all.
It's like saying we know Jesus existed because the bible says he was born as a baby, and ancient record tells us that babies were born in Bethlehem.
There is a lot of evidence for Jesus, but that example certainly isn't evidence.
