I had the privilege to be looked at by her. Somewhere outside Wembley in '89. Her only security was Boxcar Willie. I wanted to ask and tell her a lot. So I said nothing. What she thougt while she looked at me will never be known thank God.
Mostly singers avoid steel guitars. Tammy never sang false. Not a note. I even think she could not do that.
I so wish all could have met her as I had the privledge of doing. She was so humble and friendly towards all. At the time she was about 36 years of age and indeed very beautiful. I love you still Tammy, after all the years gone by.
Her talents certainly were given by God himself, indeed, not many have approached her abilities.
As someone posted she was humble to all her fans. She played her role so well as a big star and was so easy to love.

What a beautiful voice she had. I used to listen to this song 35 years ago. My mom had a big old magnavox stereo, and I would hear music like this on Sunday afternoons. God, I miss those days.
This brings back so many memories of sunday afternoons when my mom would put a stack of country LP's on the monster magnavox console stereo, and it would be an all afternoon treat of David Houston, Jack Greene, Ferlin Husky, Jim Reeves. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

This sound alot like the steel player with Jerry Lee Lewis and similar to the older recordings of Tony Booth, These guys had a way of being heard but NEVER getting in the way with that infamous "Rickety Tickety Bish BOOM BAM!!
That too many show-offs end up doing.
Youtube search the older country Jerry Lee Lewis and search for Backrow, Another Place,
All night long, this Steel guitar on Tammy's recording has the same attitude, TASTE comes before ATTENTION!!! I love that sound SWEET.

This is an absolute gem, true country. The garbage mass produced in Nashville for the last 10 years all sounds the same. Artists like Tammy, George, Conway, Strait are still the benchmark for style and creativity.

Why couldn't i grow up listening to this? I'm 18 and Tammy Wynette is one of my heroes, I love and miss her, she was a beautiful lady, no one can ever replace her, she lived her songs, sang her songs with passion, she truly is the queen of country

What a beautiful voice she had. I used to listen to this song 35 years ago. My mom had a big old magnavox stereo, and I would hear music like this on Sunday afternoons. God, I miss those days.

This brings back so many memories of sunday afternoons when my mom would put a stack of country LP's on the monster magnavox console stereo, and it would be an all afternoon treat of David Houston, Jack Greene, Ferlin Husky, Jim Reeves. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
