  • very nice.

I take you had a change of heart (no pun intended) in the middle of your project about what colors to go with.

I think you made good choice.

  • @jrock5150 I usually just cover the canvas just to get rid of the, "White Canvas Disease" first. However, in this one, the rainbows are inside the children as they carry their rainbows with them, wherever they go. When one looks closely at the painting, one can view the rainbow through their eyes. Sorry it took me so long to respond, I just saw this comment today! ~Peace

  • WOW!

  • I would love it if you steal my idea! I would also love to see a video of the project when you do it. That'd be really coolsome. Hope all is well in your world.

  • Great! I just got my next video idea for my other channel! Been wanting one...:)Syd

  • Hi Eagle! I hope they like it. I have yet to give it to them. I am so behind on everything. Have a Happy Holiday!

  • Really liked the masks. I did one of my face years ago,now I know what to do with it.Thanks for sharing

  • scrappygalinsc~ Glad you liked it. I'd love to see your finished product. (hint hint)

  • OH how very neat! What lucky kids they are!

Love the idea of the plaster masks. Very cool that you attached them to the canvas.

We need to always remember to keep children child like for as long as possible. They are resilient but like you said.. fragile.

  • Yes Cassiedarling, we need to keep them children for as long as we can. They grow up entirely way too fast. Thanks for watching and I am glad you like it! =D

  • awesome Dali!

  • Thank you BxFirebird.

  • EXCELLENT! This piece is fabulous. To ME, it speaks deeply of a mom's children and their connection to her.... Her womb, her soul, her inner being. They're pieces of her. This art work actually reminded me of them breaking out of the womb (so-to-speak). Becoming individuals, etc.. while still remaining a piece of Mom's personal puzzle. Ok.. enough rambling. I give this five stars and a fave!!!!!

  • Clara~ I am thrilled you read so much into it. Yes! Yes! and More Yes! That's awesome. You felt everything I wanted the viewer to feel and more. Fantastic!

  • Very neat, how did you make the masks? Is that in another vid?

  • Spider, thanks for reminding me to post a video response, showing how to make the masks. This video was done in April of '07. It is too long and maybe a bit boring, but it shows the mask making process. The supplies and directions are also in the side bar if you want to skip the video.

  • Wow you are truely creative. This was great. I'm totally saving every egg I crack from now on. Love that effect. Can you paint right on top of them with acrylic, or do you have to prime them first?

  • You can paint with acrylic right on top of them, but it's better to put a clear coat of spray on top first. It helps to keeps the egg shells in place.

  • You are a great aunt, mom, and artist. That turned out so cool. I totally agree with your message in the description!

  • Thanks Ann. Thanks so much. You know that is important to me.

  • mUSE!I likes a lot! Awesome Kim.

  • Yes. Thanks Tony. Glad you likes.

  • I never woulda' thunk eggshells - how cool daligoddess! :)

  • Gary Reef = egg shell idea.

  • So cool! I love it :) I cant wait to my daughter gets older and I can do this with her face!!

  • Yeah, they usually sit pretty well around the age of five. My nephew just turned four and he was pretty antsy, opening his mouth to talk before the plaster was dry, but I managed to salvage the mask. I like to get them as early as I can, then continue the process over consecutive years. It's a pretty coolsome growth record. Have fun with it!

  • fantastical, loved watching you at work Kim, you make it look so easy!

  • Thanks Melissa! Glad you like it.

  • Brilliant, I love it. I know they will too. You are full of surprises!!

  • Oh. How can I get those?

  • That is a very good question; I am not sure which font those stars belong to. So I will post the following stars in different fonts, and can you tell me if any of them look like stars to you?
