If you ever want to listen to REAL MUSIC (omg what a concept), come back to this page. I don't think anything after 1990 can even be considered close to the musicianship and skill that this band shares. Keep it up guys.
@mistisafilam I was always much more partial to Rags than to Robbie. Sure Robbie is a great fiddle player and singer but David Ragsdale is a true violinist and Rags is much more energetic. Once upon a time, Robbie was just as good as Ragsdale, but if you saw the vids of Robbies last days as a member of Kansas you could just tell that he was getting very tired, his playing sucked he sounded like he didnt want to be on that stage and in the end, Robbie bailed out.
Steve Walsh does not appreciate his fans.He really thinks he's Gods gift on earth. No one was a bigger fan then me.Kansas started losing me over years of repackaged old stuff on CD/DVD.No new stuff.Hey ,if the Eagles can come out with a double CD of all new material, late in their careers, instead of making money on nothing but the old stuff,Kansas can do it to.I've lost my interest in these guys sorry to say .
@demmylowther I kind of agree with some of what you said. I wish they would come out with some new material also. I'd love to hear it. If they're still doing live shows, I think they could maybe come out with some new songs. One of my other favorite bands, The Who, was able to make a come back a couple years ago with a new album, The Endless Wire. If The Who could do it at their age, I think Kansas could do it also.
@GonzoDrummer27 this was recorded at a private showing the night before the concert, open to those who bought select tickets. for the real thing, it was PACKED.
sith: I thought Livgren is in this line-up. What's missing is Walsh doing gymnastics moves up and down the front of the stage. He's in his 50's and I'm sure he's been advised against all that...
Ragsdale is very talented but, " there's know" other violinist like Robbie Steinhardt!! he was unique and dearly missed. I'm happy ot have seen him with the band.
@Ltlegendary I get that and understand. For younger Kansas fans like myself, Ragsdale is an immense improvement. I saw Steinhardt with the band in the 2000's and it's not even close....
Kansas opened with Magnum Opus at a show I went to in D.C. for the Power tour. Steve wasn't on stage- when it can time to sing "Howlin' at the moon, Steve appeared- standing on the seat back of the chair my sister was sitting on! After singing the verse, he jumped down and climbled up on stage.
I personally preferred Kansas when Kerry Livgren was in the Band... back in the 70's... They still rock though... this song is not one of my favorites..
I saw them play this in FL 6 mos ago under a large tent with about 300 loyal fans. As a fan for over 30 years, it brought chills and tears to my eyes. I just saw them again on March 7th...Kansas still rocks and Walsh can still sing his ass off. Thank you Kansas for 35 years of outstanding music. I think the only thing that could've made this event better would've been to include Dave Hope and Robbie Steinhardt to complete the evolution.
Awesome!! I've seen Kansas 15 times. I wanted to see this show, but didn't have enough cash. I will however, purchase it on dvd. Thanks for posting and Carry ON!
